Current turn-around time for UK books?

I've ordered a couple of books in the past which have usually printed within 2-3 days of uploading them.
I ordered 2 large soft-cover books last Monday but they still seem to be printing, despite it saying 3-4 days on the estimate. I realise that it's only a single working day beyond the estimate but with the typical 7-10 day postal turnaround and coming from Germany with the Christmas post, every day is making me more nervous of whether it will arrive pre-Christmas or whether I need to go out and purchase an emergency IOU gift!
Anyone in the UK (or Europe) ordered a book in the last couple of weeks and seen it ship or arrive yet?

I've sent feedback to Apple suggesting that they give some idea of last order dates for Christmas for the iPhoto books in 2006.
Photobox.uk, Boots etc all had dates in early December for their book printing services hence why I hurried to do mine by 6 December.
But when the turnaround time says 3-4 days, there were probably orders going in over this weekend with little chance of them arriving; people don't go and read the help section which comments on the postage time.
I'd also like to see an option for express delivery as they have in the US. The postage for UK books is already pricey (particularly for multiple hardcovers) and not particularly fast but I still wouldn't mind paying an additional fee to guarantee it arriving within 2 days of shipment rather than the usual 7-10. Unless of course, this new '1 day'/'4 day' shipping is the new norm!

What is the usual turn around time for MacBook Pro repairs?

I took my Early 2011 MacBook Pro in for service at an Apple Store last Saturday (10/12) and they decided to send it to the repair depot, so I paid the repair costs and gave them my MacBook. I was told that it would be shipped out that night, over-nighted, repaired, then shipped back to me. They said it's usually a 3-5 day turnaround.
I've been checking my repair status frequently for any updates, but "Shipment to repair center pending" has been the only thing it's shown since Saturday (I do understand that shipping estimates can be delayed). Yesterday (Mon.) I called the store to ask why this was showing and to get an update. They told me that shipping services don't run on the weekends or Columbus day, so the computer should probably reach repair by Tuesday. First, this isn't accurate unless it's specific to the Apple Store because all shipping services besides USPS run on weekends AND Columbus Day isn't a recognized holiday. Second, Tuesday has passed and I'm still only seeing "Shipment to repair center pending".
This is pretty frustrating. I'm already behind on work and school work because of this (which is fine because I expected the 3-5 days), but I can't afford to be in this situation much longer than that.
What I'm wondering is, what is the usual repair time that others have experienced? When should I start to investigate this more and who do I contact? I'm worried that the store will keep giving me the same response.

Turn Around Time to convert a Prospect into a Customer

Hi All,
We have implemented Oracle Teleservice module. We have a client request to develop a report which gives them the Turn Around Time for converting a prospect to a customer. For eg: A prospect called up at the call center inquiring abt the various products, he is logged into the system as a Prospect. Later in the week, the customer buys the product and TCA API uploads the customer information into the system with an account number and the product details. Is there anyway, that I can track the total time between these two events? We dont have Sales implemented.
Any help on this would highly be appreciated.

I guess you can get this turnaround based on audit fields available in prospect master table and account master table
To be specific:
- When a prospect is created in the system, a records gets created in HZ_PARTIES table. Prospect is also known as 'Party' in TCA.
- Normally an account is created for a party and account is created in the table HZ_CUST_ACCOUNTS
you can join these two tables based
so
HZ_CUST_ACCOUNTS.creation_date - hz_parties.creation_date
where HZ_CUST_ACCOUNTS.party_id = hz_parties.party_id
should give u this time

Best way to prepare photos for iPhoto printed book

Hello,
I was wondering what would be the best way to prepare photos for iPhoto printed book on a Macbook Pro so to achieve the most realistic results to what's on the screen
ie. which software should I use to change photos from RGB to CMYK, photoshop or iPhoto itself. I'm guessing maybe the autofix feature in iPhoto? (I don't have Aperture)
Secondly, which monitor color setting should I set the screen at? I'm guessing it's either Apple RGB or Colour LCD, maybe even ColorMatch RGB?
Any any other tips that people can give in achieving the most realistic results to what you have on the screen when your printed iPhoto book gets sent back. I don't want the mid tones to disappear or become too bright because the gamma and color settings were different to what they use at the other end.

The situation has changed a little, our original photos are in RAW format and some of them are slightly over saturated in the higher tones.
I've read on other threads that it is a good idea to run the 'Enhance' tool on all photos before sending the iPhoto Book away.
Since iPhoto's 'Enhance' tools seems to do a lot of helpful things like sharpen, adjust the levels, etc it also seems to notch the contrast up and this would prove destructive for the lighter and darker tones not captured by the camera's dynamic range.
So as I've been advised it's best to use Apple's own tools before sending the iPhoto Book away, so I'm going to download the trial of Aperture.
Does anyone have any more recommendations on which monitor colour profile setting to use etc. I've also read that iPhoto prints best from JPEGS so the RAW will obviously need changed. Will Aperture automatically save to Profile name: Camera RGB Profile after I've done some editing there?
What would be the best way to prepare RAW images in aperture where some of them might need an Image Overlay in Photomatix then imported back to Aperture for printing an Apple/iPhoto style Book?

We are ordering a book for one of my daughter's teachers, and we need it back before May 19. What do you think is the latest date I can order by and still get it in-time?

There are two book centers in the US....one on the East coast and one in Elk Grove, CA (outside Sacramento).
SInce I am near SF, my books come from Elk Grove. I created my most recent book (27 pages) on the night of 4/28, placed the order around 3am 4/29. It was shipped on May 1, Standard shipping, and I received it yesterday, May 5th.
It was my first order in iPhoto 08.....too busy making movies/DVDs The book is great, and the photos on the cover are great also, not too dark, as some have reported. It was of my husband's recent birthday dinner and he loved it!
I can't speak to how long it takes for the East coast, but I am very happy with the turn-around times here.

Additional copies of deleted iPhoto Photo Books

Can I somehow get an additional copy of a Photo Book that I composed and had printed and mailed within the last month? I didn't make a copy for myself. My hard drive just went down a couple of days ago and I lost these most recent photos (my iDisk was full and I had not gotten around to adding space. My bad.) Through the iPhoto print shop (Kodak??) is there somehow for this Photo Book to be retrieved and reprinted, or ideally, can I retrieve the photo files from them???

Do I have to upload the whole book every time I want to order an additional copy?

Uploading custom pages to iPhoto photo books

I am trying to upload a custom page with photos and text to my iPhoto photo book. I am a digital scrapbooker. But I need to know the exact size with bleed to make sure that the text and photos appear the way I have designed. Is it possible to find out the size of the photo books with bleeds?
I am using version 9.5.1 of iPhoto.

I've not seen that in iPhoto '08 - iPhoto '09 does have a thumbnail bug like that that has not been fixed yet
Try clicking on the blank thumbnail and seeing what it shows in the main window

No. There is no Print Products Store in India. You can only ship to the same country as the billing address for the credit card used.

Adjust Date and time for all Photos in an event?

Would some one tell me how to adjust the date and time for all photos in an event. For some reason when I change the date, it only changes the first photo in the event and I am left with a range of dates in the event, but I would rather they all have the same date in the event. Any thoughts or ideas?

How are you selecting the photos and changing them? How much of a change are you trying to make? A total change of date and time or just a delta change either plus or minus?
Using the Photos->Adjust Date and Time... menu option will apply the time/date difference to all of the photos in the Event if you click on the Event icon in the Photos mode or the Event mode.
