  • How to turn off battery percentage on iphone 4 ?

    Hi,
Got the new iphone 4 recently. Since the initial set up the battery percentage icon is on. I tried to turn it off through settings- general-usage-battery percentage. But it still shows up. I even rebooted the phone by holding home button and power button. Still the same. How to make my phone not to show the battery percentage? Please help. I am thinking of apple store visit for this but would like to try some fixes before going there.

I just figured it out! I just got my iPhone 4 and restored it from the backup of my once jailbroken iPhone 3G. Same problem as you guys. Was about to restore from scratch but...
    Check it out:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
You will have to change back a few of your settings but problem solved.

  • Turning off Battery Percentage iOS7

Hi there, quick question. I'm trying to turn off the battery percentage but no matter what I do, it won't go away. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a fix to it?
Any and all suggestions welcome. Also, sorry if this is a common occurance but I did Google it before hand and found a little less than nothing (that was relevant, anyhow).
    Thanks again.
Not a clue if this matters but my phone was jailbroken up until I updated to the newest iOS.

My device is no longer jailbroken. It is counted as a regular, run of the mill iPhone. Yes, I've voided my warranty, should I ever have had one, but I'm still able to post about my iPhone as it's no longer jailbroken. I merely added in the fact that it used to be jailbroken incase it was relevant information.
Doesn't matter. Once your phone was jailbroken at any time it is pretty much jailbroken forever. Just because you restore it doesn't mean it wipes out all traces of the jailbreak.

  • How can I turn off battery charging when plugged in to power on a plane?

    Hi,
is there an app that can turn off battery charging while plugged in?
I regularly fly from Australia to Europe (22 hours on the plane!) but the power outlet usually stalls when draining too much power
(e.g. 85 Watts for my Macbook Pro battery).
    Any solutions available?
I used to just take out the battery, however, that  is not possible anymore on the Macbook Pro.
    Thanks for your help.

But why turn off battery charging, makes no sense in this case. You either run off the battery or plug it in and run off the battery while it is charging.
The power draw won't change appreciably.
My bad power consumption will change
It would seem the best strategy would be to get on with a fully charged battery plug in the laptop and let it trickle charge as you use it. Given the length of the flight this should give you the longest use with the minimum amount of draw from the seat outlet.

  • Yoga S1 Can we turn off battery charging?

I am a new user for the Yoga S1, but I was wondering if it is possible to turn off battery charging.  I mainly use my laptop at a desk (so I rarely leave it unconnected from Power Plug).  I know this is bad for the battery.  On a dell that I own (Inspiron 14z) i can turn off battery charging when the laptop is plugged into the ac power plug.  Is this possible w/ the lenovo yoga S1?  The closest I've gotten to doing this was seeing an ability to turn off battery charging via BIOS, but that is only temporary (when comp is off and unplugged to switch out battery).
Any suggestions woiuld be greatly appreciated.

  • Z10 Freezing, automatically turning off, battery

I've had my Z10 since Saturday June 1st. So far I'm really enjoying it, having fun playing with it and getting use to it. However, since getting it it has turned off on its own several times and froze a few times. Is this a bug that will be fixed or a temporary thing that will fix itself or should I bring it back?
My other issue is the battery. Charging seems to vary. The other night I plugged it in to charge and after 8 hours it was still charging. Other times it takes a couple of hours.

That is odd eight hours to do charge, something could be wrong with the device inless there any other solutions out there!

  • Why does my iPod 5 have a battery percentage indicator?

I have an iPod touch 5th generation that I bought in December 2012, and as long as I can remember, it has always had the battery percentage next to the battery icon. I was recently looking for online for a way to turn off this percentage, and I came across a lot of people asking how they could turn on the battery percentage on the iPod 5g. This really confused me because I have always had the battery percentage, while many people with the same iPod 5th generation are saying that they can't turn it on. Also, I can;t find a way to turn off the battery percentage, it's not under usage like on the iPhones. Why can my iPod display battery percentage while others can't?

Your iPod has a battery percent indacator because simply in the encoding on the software (almost like binary on a computer) has a line in there that states "Battery Percent Indacator <true>" When normally it would say <false>. With the mass manufacturing of apple products they run off of the same software except for Macs. Since they run off of the same software all the coding is just changed around to display this and that so it makes an iPod or iPhone, an advantage to apple products having the same software is that you could change the binary on your iPod to make it like an iPhone because all it is, is switched around to make it "different." Pretty much since they are mass manufactured the system accidently applied <true> for under the binary statement "Battery Percent Indacator" instead of <false>. Small system mix up but thats all it is. Sorry for the techy terms I do some computer work here and there. Im dumb to IT's but Smart to people that don't know anything about software. Heres a simple way of saying WHY you have battery %. It was a manufactoror mixup and you accidently got battery percent. Thats all .

  • IPhone 5 seems to have full charge but battery percentage shows 99%? It seems to be stuck at 99%?

Ok so call me picky, OCD, whatever. I'm very "overprotective" when it comes to my very expensive iPhone 5.
Anyway, when I charge my phone it charges pretty regularly except for when it hits 99%, it stops. After a little while at 99% it seems to be fully charged, but it still shows 99%. However, when I unplug my phone, switch off battery percentage, turn the phone off, turn it back on, switch on battery percentage again, it shows 100%. Weird, right? Well, if anyone can help me somehow or give me any advice with this annoying little glitch I'd be very happy. Thanks!

Solved my own problem! I feel like a total idiot... it turns out that my phone just takes a while to go from 99% to 100%. No need to reply to this question, LOL. I'm so OCD.

  • How can I turn off push for sent items in an Exchange account?

I have an Exchange account set up in iOS8.3.  I would like to set the sent folder to fetch rather than push.  And while I can go into my list of pushed mailboxes and uncheck the Sent folder, the change does not stick and goes right back to push when I go back into the settings.  This was not the case in iOS7.  I was just wondering if this was a bug in iOS8 or if this behavior is by design.  I already checked with my Exchange admins, and they stated that there is no policy preventing users from setting push and fetch as they please.  Thanks!

  • IPhone 5 turned off, and will not turn back on.

My iPhone 5s turned off (battery life was approximately 30%).  I can not turn it back on, even after trying to charge.  The phone will not show that the battery is charging.  Tried plugging in to computer to attempt charging and sync, but iTunes does not show/recognize the phone.
    Any ideas?

Use the charger that came with the phone. It may take an hour for a dead battery to respond.

  • HT1338 How do I turn of battery recharge when on  a plane (Macbook Pro Retina)?

    Hi,
I would like to know how to turn off battery recharge when on a plane.
Every time I plug it in, the power goes down because recharging the battery consumes too much power for the outlet on the Boeing 747.
Previously I would just take the battery out of my laptop. Obvioulsy that is not possible anymore on a MacBook Pro!
    Thanks
    Christoph

I agree it's an interesting problem, but I believe it is technically possible. The man page for 'pmset' has this tantalasing clue:
Certain Apple battery calibration tools may temporarily disable battery charging, even though your Apple portable is plugged into AC power. Such tools will never surprise you with this behavior; you will know it's happening. This state will be reflected in an additional line of output to 'batt' or 'ps' readings, including the pid of the app inducing this behavior.
             'ChargeInhibit':    1432
Changing the power assertion of 'ChargeInhibit' from 0 to 1 can therefore be done programmatically. However, no Terminal or AppleScript tricks are going to work for this one  - it loooks like it's something that needs to be written in Cocoa.
That leads to two suggestions, both of them a bit woolly I'm afraid:
    1. Try asking over on the Apple Developers forum (where the cocoa programmers hang out)
    2. Try searching for one of those 'battery calibration tools' mentioned above, or a 3rd party battery management app. I did try a couple of searches, but didn't turn up anything promising. Maybe you'll have better luck.
