Turn off cookies in windows 7

i keep getting disable cookies

Hello Colonel!
First, thanks for your reply.
The display never turns off at all. I have tried both within Power Manager and WIndows Control Panel (Personalization) to set it to turn itself off after 10 minutes, as I am sure it used to, and as my Lenovo ThinkCenter desktop does with its external monitor.
Of course, I cannot remember how I managed that, or what I did to mess it up!  I have tried to make the settings as identical as I can on both computers, but the desktop monitor does shut off, while the laptop display continues to glow balefully, long after I have abandoned it.
Yes, I could close the lid, but I just want it to turn its own display off!
In attempting to remedy this, I now somehow have indeed created some sort of dimming function. Even if I am typing away and load a new application, sometimes the screen does dim noticeably. Very annoying...
I am sure I did something quite simple, but perhaps I'm now too close to the thing to get a proper look at it!
Any suggestions you could make would be warmly welcomed.
Cheers,
JK

  • How do I turn off the downloads window?

How do I turn off the downloads window? I recently upgraded FF, hated the new one, so downgraded back. When I upgraded I got the new downloads ribbon at the bottom of the screen and no longer had the downloads window. However, for whatever reason I decided to turn the window on. But when I downgraded I realized that this interferes with programs that I had previously set up to download directly to a certain program. Bottom line... I do NOT want the downloads window.

I know you can go to Tools, then Options, and click the Downloads tab and configure how you want it that way. Do you have the Download Manager Tweak as an add on?

  • Black screen/turns off random bootcamp windows 7

I have a imac 27" mid 2010 and i am using windows 7 x64 ultimate on bootcamp (3.3 and later 4.0) from snow leopard to lion, i have
recently upgraded my mac with mountain lion.
But after i did upgrade to mountain lion a day later my screen in bootcamp goes black/turns off. I can sometimes hear the sounds when it happens.
The black screen/turn off, is also randomly so its not happening when i do something or opening something. So after a few black-outs i started to get fustrated and i surfed the web for solutions (Option + Alt + P + R), disconnect power cord wait 10 seconds and reconnect, install/uninstall new drivers, reinstalling windows. reinstalling mountain lion and windows but the problem is stil there.
But when using mountain lion i dont have any problems everything works fine.
I think that mountain lion has changed something to the firmware or bios of the system, or changed something to bootcamp?
I really dont know, the only thing i know is i cant use windows as i normally did, and my boss isnt happy when i dont finish my work.
I really need some answers and solutions.
    Thanks

Same problem occuring for me, although Windows 7 boots fine in safe mode but when booting in regular mode after the lauch screen it goes black and turns off. Funny thing is that mountain lion didn't seem to be the problem for me instead I believe windows updated it's software for me and then it started happening. Im going to try and reformat partition reinstall windows 7.
oh BTW I'm on Macbook Pro x Retina Display.

  • How do I turn off the auto window arranging?

I have a dual monitor system, and whenever I drag a floating
window (usually the Code Inspector) to the main display, it docks
and fills up the whole screen, and then I have to drag it back off.
I have to be very careful not to drag the window within about 600
pixels of the screen edge, so it doesn't attach itself.
I couldn't find anything in the Preferences or window context
menus to turn off this "feature". Is there a way?

I've got options for 2, 5, 10, 15 minutes and Never. Have you got an Exchange email account on your iPad ? 'Never' can be removed so as to protect a company's potentially sensitive email - they may not want the iPad being left/stolen with the emails on it accessible. If you remove the account the Never option will probably reappear

  • Turn off wireless via Windows 7, not opening Elitebook

I know that you can touch the backlit wireless icon beneath the screen to turn WiFi on/off.  However, my notebook is often in a docking station, lid down (since I use a big external screen).  Opening the lid causes the screen to flip, so I don't want to open and close the screen just to turn off WiFi.  Is there a way to turn off WiFi by navigating to some switching on Windows 7?

Then I suggest that you turn the wireless off before you dock your elitebook.
    It is five bars.
This is a Windows 7 Desktop. Left-click on the wireless icon to get this to appear. A right-click will only produce a menu with the troubleshoot and Open Network and Sharing Center options

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).

  • Can I turn off the preview window?

    Hi there,
Odd one this, but can the self-preview be turned off in iChat by any means?
I like to have a video call with my sister and her little 2 year old, but the 2 year old is fascinated by the picture of herself!! She is so engrossed, she will rarely interact with people at the other end of the video call! We've tried just putting a piece of cloth over than area of the screen, but she's wise to it now and pulls it away.
Is there a good way of getting rid of the small self-image in the corner of the video chat window?
    Thanks!
    David

    Hi,
The Preview that becomes the Pic-in-Pic can be turned off in the Video menu (Hide Local Video) in iChat 4 and above.
    Otherwise the answer is No.

  • How do I turn off the multiple windows aero peek feature for CS5 on Windows 7?

I'm not sure if this only happens with floated windows but in Photoshop CS5, when I have multiple files open, each one of those files have their own windows open on the Windows 7 taskbar. I'd like it all to be combined as one like how it was in CS4. I searched through the preferences and couldn't find anything related to this problem. Does anybody know how I can turn this off?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

When I first loaded Win7, I went over the GUI changes from XP (I passed on ever using Vista) carefully.
Out of curiosity, how long ago was that?  I'm guessing not long.
That you chose not to use Vista is also part of the problem.  Many things in Windows 7's UI are evolved from Vista's changes.  You're viewing Windows 7 from the perspective of one who has changed suddenly from XP, and that is no doubt a shock.
You also expect it to be a system that facilitates work, and that's a fundamental problem.  Windows is now first and foremost an entertainment vehicle for the masses.  Those of us wanting to use it for real work have to work at it to tune it up for that task.
If you sense the resource usage of Windows 7 Aero then quite possibly your computer isn't up to the task.  When run with a good video interface Aero becomes smooth and instantly responsive, and that (with a few tweaks besides) actually makes using Windows quite a pleasure.  It definitely can be made to get out of the way and lets you concentrate on the work.
The basic trouble is, Microsoft doesn't make changing to any new version of their operating system an easy task...
As a career computer/software engineer, I chose to understand Windows 7 from the inside-out (for the first time ever I ran the beta versions in a virtual machine, to get used to it).  I've had to find dozens of tweaks and turn off a number of things that shouldn't be running.
AFTER ALL THAT I can say Windows 7 is a dynamite system, that often outperforms XP (both in compute power and in UI performance).  And it's more stable than any version of Windows to date.
I can only encourage you to stay with it.  It may take a year or more, but it really does grow on you.  On my main Windows 7 workstation I run virtual machines with XP and Vista almost daily for development testing, so I haven't forgotten their UIs, and I sure would never want to go back!

  • Turning off syn visual window (syn visual class)

When I start a particular function in a program, I get an error message asking me to turn off the program "syn visual window (syn visual class). I have T510 Thinkpad. Does anyone know how to turn this off? From a Google search, I understand it has something to do the with UltraNav and that the problem is specific to Lenovo Thinkpads.

back in the day (OS 7/8/9) you had what was called t he extension manager. when i would work in cubase i had an extension set that was stripped down - similar to what you are asking.
now things are different. OS X is very efficient.
the only thing you need to do is only run the apps you need to have open (don't have mail, internet, etc. running while recording)
there are 3rd party apps that will remove window shadows, etc. - but I don't think it is necessary.
Max out your ram, and only run the apps you need running and you should be fine.

  • Turn off cookies with ApplicationModulePooling?

    Hello,
is it possible turn off automatically setting session cookies to the client when using ApplicationModulePooling?
I use the UIX BC4J Tags and every request a cookie representing an application module is set to my browser. The documentation says, that an Object of class SessionCookie will be put to the session context in stateful mode. That is ok, but why does it try to set a cookie to my browser?
Curiously it works too, if I deny all cookies in my browser. So it seems that there is no need for setting cookies?
Can anybody explain this behavior to me? And is it possible to configure ApplicationModulePooling without setting (unused) cookies to the client?
    Thanks,
    Christian

  • Turning off Speech feedback window

How do I get rid of the speech feedback window?
I have disabled everything in speech plus looked in startup items...nothing works.
Its there everytime I launch and I dont want it or need it. Its there with only Finder running.
    Any suggestions?

Hey Roam...thanks...I did all that with no effect.
    However I figured it out.
Seems I had set a few speech commands a long time ago and one of them was 'turn off speech'...so thats what I did and it worked when I relaunched.
Interesting that this overwrote all the other commands/prefs and keystrokes. Seems a bit dysfunctional to me.....I mean the whole software app
    Thanks anyhow
