Turn off field hostory

All,
Can someone tell how i can turn off field history for credir card field in sales order header.
right now if i go to this field and enter space it shows me all the credit cards entered previously but i dont want any historical data for this field to be shown.
I tried the options > local data> field setting but that turns off the history for all fields, i just want it off for credit card field.
Also tried ALT+right click on the field to disable history but that's a manual solution meaning all users will have to do it manually plus they can always turn it back on therefore i was wondering if there is some ID parameter i can use to disable historical data for credit card field for all users.
thanks

Hi,
I post here your question in this Re: Disabling Input History for a specific field, it's better for understanding my answer below:
All,
I have successfully tired DISABLE FIELDHISTORY method but it only works on my user. I want it to work for all users. How can i set it up for all users without ofcourse having all users do it manually.
Thanks
As your release is 4.7, you can't benefit from the 7.0 ehp 2 functionality which allows to deactivate the input history for an input field (so for all users) (cf [SAP note 1264378 (Suppressing input history for the SAP GUI)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1264378]).
So you have to cope with the method you used and run it through a user exit for example.
I've just found another solution using GuiXT, by entering "HistoryUpdate F[Posting date] off". I'm not sure if it disables the input history, or if the new entered values stop being added to the history.

  • Turn Off Field Test Mode

    My iPhone 4 "inherited" the Field Test Mode from my 3GS (that had been upgraded to iOS4) when I brought across my apps from the 3GS. Field Test Mode with iOS4 seems to operate on an app by app basis, rather than being able to set the signal strength bars or the dB reading and staying in the selected mode for all apps until changed.
    So, after numerous searches, I can't find a clear, definitive way to turn off or delete Field Test Mode. I've tried to reset network settings and the usual reboot, etc.
    I've passed on a total reset because the Field Test capability was passed from by 3GS backup to the iPhone 4.
    Anyone have a clue?

    EBSkater, do you think this is the way AnandTech got their i4 to display the db signal? They didn't detail their "trick".

    When you're in field test mode, you hold the power key until the "Slide to Power Off" shows up. Now hold the home button until it resprings. You will now ALWAYS have the dB meter, even through updates. The only way to remove it is to restore as a new phone.
    If you get an upgraded phone model and restore it with a backup from one of these phones that have the dB meter, you will transfer the dB meter to it.

  • How do I turn off highlighted fields as a setting within a specific document?

    I need to turn off highlighted fields on a specific document, regardless of the users' 'highlight fields' setting. The fields are being filled out with information obtained from an input page on my website (not the pdf itself). After a user hits submit, this pdf pops up, but the fields are: a) highlighted b) changeable. Bonus points if you can tell me how to make the fields so they cannot be changed. Using the 'security' feature and locking with a password does not work if I choose to make the fields uneditable because I don't believe the site can enter the info onto the pdf. Thanks very much.

    Thanks. Read-only might work. Just wondering if changing the fields over to Read-only would preclude my website from being allowed to enter the information which the user has inputted on the website?

  • UIX - unable to turn off client and server side field validation

    Hello,
    I've scoured the forums for info on how to turn off client / server side field validation, for the very common case of a Cancel button. Here's the use case:
    User enters a page displaying records of some kind that can be edited, or an option to create a new one. User clicks create, is taken to a new data entry form. Before entering any data, the user decides he isn't interested, and clicks the cancel button.
    The problem I'm having is that I'm getting messages that required fields have no values. I have found several references on this forum that setting the submitButton attribute unvalidated="true" will turn off client side validation. Here's what my submitButton looks like:
    <submitButton text="Cancel" event="success" unvalidated="true"/>
    But I am still getting errors, such as:
    JBO-27014: Attribute ListName in DealerListAppModule.WebDlrListsView1 is required
    Now I have also seen references in the forums to turning off server side validation by overriding the validatModelUpdates method in the DataAction. I have done this too. No luck.
    Any ideas why this isn't working? I have seen other posts in the forums stating that there were improvements in JDev 10.1.2 that caused a create but not insert, where you could just navigate away from the page you were on, without having to worry about rolling back the create of a new record. I am also not seeing this behavior either. I am using 10.1.2, completely updated, but when I execute a create, if I navigate back from the create page to the original one without saving (i had to fool with this to get it to work because of the validation problems above), I am still seeing the blank, created record in my rowset. I originally created my project in 9.0.5.2, but am now using 10.1.2, and having migrated the project.
    So what's the deal? What's the definitive way to turn off both client side and server side validation, and what's the status of this create but not insert functionality?
    Brad

    Haven't worked with this but possibly this method of "deactivation" is not valid in 11gR2? Have you cross checked that with Oracle support?

  • T420 turns off by itself in the presence of magnetic field

    Hi forum,
    I am currently experiencing a problem where my T420 would turn off by itself when it is being used in an environment with the presence of magnetic field (something like a aluminium smelter). It only happens when the monitor is tilted at an angle other than 80~90 degrees. Could this problem have something to do with the lid sensor? Does anyone know where about the type of lid sensor a T420 has and the about location of it? Thanks in advance!!

    Thanks for the reply guys!
    I have changed the settings (both the power settings and the windows settings) of the lid close events to "do nothing". It stops the laptop from going to sleep mode however doesnt stop the screen from turning itself off. I supposed it is designed to turn off the monitor anyway because designer probably thought there is no point to leave the screen on if the lid is closed. Anyway what we will try now is to connect an external monitor and see if it solves the problem. I will update my progress.

  • How do i turn off TFS adding bulds to Global List? and or to the "Found In" drop down in work items?

    We do not use the standard TFS build definitions in our drop downs, and have scripted updating the global list with our standard build numbers. However, we get both the TFS builds and our build numbers in the "Found In" field of work items. How
    do I disable TFS automatically adding the "Builds - " list into the "Found In" field Rules? and or updating the Global List?

    Hi CRHill,
    Thanks for your post.
    What’s the version of your TFS Server?
    What’s the “not use the standard TFS Build definitions in our drop downs” mean?
    You’re using the TFS Build Definition to build your solution but not use the default TFS build process template in it?
    If you don’t use TFS build definitions to build  your solution, how the TFS builds’ numbers be generated and added in team project Global list?
    As far as I know all the completed TFS build numbers will be added in to team project Global list by default, and there’s no a default way to turn off that in TFS Server. Please refer to the workaround in this article:

  • Is there a way to turn off the 'nannying'?

    Hi everyone,
    I'm using the Safari Beta, and am very impressed. Particularly happy about URL auto-completion working properly, resizing text boxes, in line search and the performance. So far, no problems.
    Is there though, a way to turn off all the "is this OK?" dialogue boxes? For example, when I click the red close button I am asked "Are you sure you want to close this window, you have entered text..." - well of course I want to close it, that's why I clicked it! Same when there are open tabs.
    "Reset Safari" also has an extra step, but the new dialogue box has all options checked by default, so I just end up having to hit OK, whereas before Safari just 'did the right thing'. The final one I have run into is "Javascript is making this page load slowly, do you want to continue?". - If I thought it was too slow, I would click the back button and go somewhere else, if I am happy to wait, I will wait.
    I think for some people, these will be welcome additions, for me however, I preferred the old Safari's attitude that just let me get on with the business of browsing, and wonder if there is a way to change it?
    Cheers, everyone.
    Rich

    The only one left is the "unsubmitted text" dialogue, which would not be a problem if I were not a Facebook user; after updating the "Richard is..." field (which does not require a manual submit to actually send) I get the above message. This is obviously Safari just not realising that the info has been sent and is therefore (I imagine) one for Apple themselves to answer!!
    You're welcome Rich. Glad to help.
    Not being a Facebook User, I'm not sure how to respond to the error situation. However, this would be something to report to Apple as a bug via the Safari Menu. First, open to the page in question, then select "Report Bugs to Apple".

  • Is there any way to turn off the auto formatting in Pages?  I just want to type a letter and add pictures and titles, and Pages keeps changing font sizes and doesn't let me "Do it my way".  I HATE this!

    Is there any way to turn off the auto formatting in Pages?  I'm using a blank document, so I figured I could write my letter and add pictures any way I wanted to.  But NO!  Pages keeps changing the font size!  I typed a large heading as a title, and when I try to change to a smaller font for the body of the letter, it changes the size back to the larger size!  I am getting SO FRUSTRATED!  I've spent over an hour trying to get the stupid program to let me just type my letter!  Can anyone help?

  • How do I turn off percent symbol in JFormattedTextField

    I am using a custom JFormattedTextField field, that has methods to add masks which apply formatting and add suffix and prefixes.
    It allows the user to see the data in display mode (formatted) or raw (unedited mode)
    Just found a problem though with our display mode when I try and add a suffix of a % symbol after the text.
    It turns out that JFormattedTextField does magic when it sees a %.
    It assumes I want to multiply the data by 100, which I do not. (the data is already stored in terms of percent.)
    I found an ugly hack to solve my problem, which is:
      DecimalFormat displayFormat = new DecimalFormat();
      DecimalFormatSymbols dfs = displayFormat.getDecimalFormatSymbols();
      dfs.setPercent('~'); // set to a symbol we will never use
      displayFormat.setDecimalFormatSymbols(dfs);
      this.setFormatterFactory(new DefaultFormatterFactory(new NumberFormatter(displayFormat)));
      // then later we apply our mask
      // used to do this
      // displayFormat.applyPattern(myDisplayFormat);
      // now have to do this so it does not overwrite our percent symbol
      this.displayFormat.applyLocalizedPattern(myDisplayFormat);It seems like there should be an easier way to accomplish this.
    What I was really hoping I could do, is "turn off" the percent substitution functionality.
    i.e. something like displayFormat.disablePercentFormatting(true);
    but at the moment, messing with localised symbols seems like the only way to hack it.
    Anyone have any thoughts? I just want DecimalFormat not to treat a % as a special symbol.
    note:
    Changing the data itself (dividing it by 100) is not an option as the data is entered elsewhere and it would screw up the raw view of the data too.
    Changing the underlying framework (of how we use our display / edit fields and masks etc) is not an option
    as there are hundreds of screens and objects using this framework already with no problems (they dont have a % in their mask though)
    I look forward to bright ideas.
    Cheers,
    - ding

    This behavior is documented in the API of DecimalFormat. If you don't want the special character to be interpreted, you need to quote it:
    Many characters in a pattern are taken literally; they are matched during parsing and output unchanged during formatting. Special characters, on the other hand, stand for other characters, strings, or classes of characters. They must be quoted, unless noted otherwise, if they are to appear in the prefix or suffix as literals. and
    '      Prefix or suffix      No      Used to quote special characters in a prefix or suffix, for example, "'#'#" formats 123 to "#123". To create a single quote itself, use two in a row: "# o''clock". see also: http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/text/DecimalFormat.html

  • CRM 2011: when auditing is turned off, why do existing Audit records lose "New Value"?

    Not sure if this is by design (if so, would love to know why!) or if this is a bug.  Let's say I have auditing turned on for Accounts.  I change the phone number in the Main Phone field from 555-1111 to 555-5555, and an audit record is
    created showing the Old Value (555-1111) and New Value (555-5555).  Great.  Now I turn off auditing. The system goes back to the audit record that had previously been created, and modifies it so that it shows the Old Value (555-1111),
    and inserts an icon into the New Value field indicating auditing was turned off.  The tool tip for that icon states "Auditing was stopped and restarted.  The new values for the fields that changed during this period cannot be identified or recorded."
    First of all (minor picky issue) auditing hasn't been turned back on yet, despite what the tool tip says (says the same thing whether or not auditing is turned back on).  But the real problem is
    why the existing audit record's New Value would be removed... why would that happen?!?  We're talking about a historical update.  It really did change, and the system knew what it changed from/to, so why would the system remove that new value
    from the audit record?  Logically I would expect that any changes made
    while auditing is off would not be logged, and that once auditing is turned back on, Old/New values would correspond to whatever was/is in the system at the time that any new audit record is created, so there may be a disconnect between an older audit
    record and a new one (old record's New Value not matching the new record's Old Value, because changes were made while auditing was off). And it's quite apparent when auditing is turned off, because an audit record is created stating "Auditing Disabled".
    Any ideas if there's a logical reason why it would do this, or if this is really a bug that Microsoft needs to fix?  We have a client with a business need to periodically turn off auditing while integration updates run between CRM and another system
    (otherwise hundreds of thousands of unnecessary audit records would be created).  But if they're going to lose audit data every time they disable auditing, the auditing is worthless.

    We wouldn't ever temporarily turn auditing off on purpose... it's happening when we import managed solutions.  We have vendors with managed solutions that contain system entities such as Contacts.  When importing their solution, it momentarily
    turns auditing off on those entities.  The only evidence of this is audit records indicating "Entity Audit Stopped", and of course the loss of all the most  recent "new value" on all audit records.  The interesting (?) parts of this are:
    1. When importing the managed solution, the recommended option to keep all existing customizations is selected.  I would think this would include the audit settings on the entity, but apparently not (sort of... see #2).
    2. As soon as the managed solution is imported, in addition to creating an "Entity Audit Stopped" audit record on relevant entities and wiping out new values, it apparently turns auditing back on, yet there's no record of this (in customizations, the entity
    still (or once again) indicates auditing is enabled; but on records for that entity, there is no "Entity Audit Enabled" record.
    So, now it's on to working with the vendors, to dig into their managed solutions and see if there's a way to prevent this!

    I subscribed to Music Match with iTunes and yet my ipad settings for Music only still has the option to subscribe, and therefore I cannot click on an option to Activagte iTunes Match, since it is not there. I have all the right number of songs from the icloud showing up in my ipad now, and I have played a few, but when I tried to turn off the computer, it showed a field stating that my ipad music would stop playing too, and it did. I thought this might have something to do with homesharing, but this I thought was something separate from iCloud.
    There is something wrong, but I don't understand what. It has just synced, but the problem persists.

    Home sharing is separate from iTunes Match.  Sounds like you were playing music using home sharing, which turned off when you turned off your computer.
    Open iTunes on your computer and go to the Store menu.  Confirm that there is a setting called Turn Off iTunes Match.  That will confirm that iTunes Match is enabled on your computer.  Then check to see what Apple ID you subscribed to iTunes Match with.  It will be the ID in Store>View Account (in parentheses).
    On your iPad, confirm that you are signed in with this same ID in Settings>iTunes & App Store (at the top).  If so, you should see an iTunes Match setting listed with an on/off slider.  Slide it on to enable iTunes Match on your iPad.

    With iOS 7 on the iPad, you turn Private  Browsing on and off by tapping the URL field.  The screen that  opens up has your bookmarks on it.  In the bottom left corner is a hot button marked 'PRIVATE'.  Tap on the word 'PRIVATE' to turn private browsing on or off.  Yeah, there aren't any instructions anywhere that I can find to do this, and if you follow Yahoo's instructions, they don't work.  This doesn't happen with the previous Apple OS, and you can restore your iPad to the older OS.
