Turn off GPRS in Nokia 7230

Hi,
How do I turn off GPRS or Data Roaming on the Nokia 7230?
I am overseas for an extended period of time and I am getting charged for Data Roaming but I don't know how to turn this off!
The manual says there is a When Needed or Always Online option but none to turn it off.
Please help!

Here's the step by step you can try
Menu > Settings > Configuration > Default Config. Settings > scroll to the Access Points one by one and press on Options > Delete > Delete everything.
Do you have an Email set up on your phone? If you have, then delete it.
Do you have an application on your homescreen that needs to be connected to Internet? remove it. Disabling the homescreen will help too.

How do I turn off GPRS on my Nokia 2630. My service provider charges per byte and I have friends who had their bills cranked up to insane (and I mean insane!!) levels just because they had the settings wrong.
Then I must comment a little on the usability of the menus. How come everything is so much worse no compared to what it used to be on the older phones. My old 6230 was good but after many years it started to fall apart.
Everything is slow and you have to wait after each key press. Icons are not clear and you have to actually try before you know what the icon means. I mean almost every cheap homepage have icons and links that are quite clear, so why can't Nokia do it right?

Turning OFF GPRS/EDGE Connection

I have a iphone 3gs 16gb running on 3.1.2. I have enabled GPRS connection on my iphone by installing CONFIGURATION PROFILES using iPhone Configuration Utility. Now i want to enable/disable GPRS on my phone as per need basis. Is there any way to do it? My iphone is not hacked. It is an factory/officially unlocked iphone 3GS. I do not want to create multiple profiles to disable/enable GPRS.
I am also not able to find a menu or tab where i can do settings for APN.
Any clues how to resolve this?

You cannot selectively turn off the data connectivity. Airplane Mode with Wi-Fi turned back on will stop access to cellular data, but will also prevent incoming/outgoing voice calls, SMS, etc., in addition to deactivating the GPS and Bluetooth radios.

How can i turn off display on nokia E7

Does anyone knows how to turnoff dsplay or set such settings for profile. what i mean is like when i play a movie on E7 via hdmi output to big screen it turnoff the e7 display while playing movie on the big screen
so i would like to do the same and turn off the e7 display screen when ive attached htmi to big screen not for watching movie but just output. another reason is when i am using remote professional which shows e7 screen on monitor display and at that time i would like to turn off e7 display
i tried setting the brightness to lowest but its still bright enogh to view on e7 screen
so is there any seetings or any app availabke that can turnoff display? or any app to handle promixity sensor?

5800 GPRS turns off too late...

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Nokia 5800 (Firmware 20+).
here in dubai, my Provider (etisalat) doesn't support Dual mode (GPRS and Calling at the same time).
I have Nokia messaging service enabled on the phone and receive my emails just fine. (except for the Famous no notification on the homescreen)
Now everytime I want to make a call, I need to manually turn off the GPRS connection so that I can make a call at all or send SMS as well...
Apperantly my phone DOES disable the GPRS but only AFTER the call has already been established... which results in a dismissed outgoing call by my provider.
Is there any way I can change the order in which my phone does the pause? Currently what my phone does is as follows:
1) establish call
2) disable GPRS
3) my call get's dismissed by provider message
4) Call ends
5) GPRS reenables
Is there a way to disable the GPRS BEFORE the call is established?

5800 XM turns off

Hi guys,
Im new to all this stuff, but my 5800XM switches off when any pressure is applied to the sides of the phone. Also, when any memory card is inserted, it crashes and will only boot to the Nokia handshake screen then freezes.
Any suggestions???

since a few weeks, every day my phone starts to turn off and back on again by itself, and this 10-20 times. Then it works fine again for a few hours and the whole thing starts again. I've also noticed I have to recharge my phone every day.

Hi navbond007,
Digital camera's do have a sounds when a picture is being taken but this noise isn't artificial like in mobile phones it is the shutter mechanism. Some digital camera's shutter makes a low or no noise but they do have a beep to give an indication that a picture is being taken. In countries where this is compulsory by law it should give some indication that a picture is being taken.
Also please take into account one device is a phone and the other a dedicated camera.

My nokia 6230 turns off without cause!?

my nokia keeps turning off,
i am reasonably sure it is not the battery as this problem occours while charging aswell as without charging. Also occasisonally, it doesn't turn off completely, just goes onto a white screen and can only be stopped my the removal of the battery.
Has anyone else had encountered a similar problem and can help me?

Definitely agree with this. Sometimes a slightly corrupt firmware might compromise the performance of the phone as a whole. But there is also a possibility that it's a hardware problem.

Nokia 5530 Turns off when making a call

I have a real problem, my Nokia 5530 turns off if I try to make a call or receive one, the only way it will work is if the headset is pluggeed in, I have tried everything, Restoring Factory settings, Hard reset etc...
Anyone else have this problem? Help...

I have exactly the same problem. I Went to a Nokia Care Point in Lisbon and they upgraded the firmware to the New one ( 11.0.054 ), but with no success.
I tried old SIM Cards, Newest SIM Cards, With / Without Memory Card, Factory Settings, nothing Worked. I Guess it´s probably hardware, maybe a faulty battery.
I ´ll have to send it to repairment..it´s really upsetting.

What kind of problems do you have?
Have you pressed the on/off button on the top of the hinge
for a few seconds (first turning off the keylock)
Have you tried to remove the battery to find out if the
problem persist?
