Turn off home share
I got my library shared with my husbands computer. If I close iTunes, his songs in the library go away. How do we keep them on both computers?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you want to still be able to play content after closing the old computer down, then you will need to import it. Select the content you wish to import and click the import button in the bottom right hand corner of the iTunes home share window.

How to turn off home share in original iPad? Want to stop it syncing with pod, phone and other ipad.
Home share got nothing to do with sync. Figure out which one you want off and come back.

I do not have this problem when streaming music/music videos from my IPAD or my Iphone
The speed is probably due to your network, it is quite indirect for mirror/AP.
For the audio, you cannot split audio and video so the audio will play where the video does.

I have an old computer that died, how do I turn off home sharing on that computer so that I can gain back 1 of my 5 shares for my new computer?
As far as I know you don't need to turn off home sharing as such, however you will have lost one of the 5 "authorizations". You can't release these individually unless you are running iTunes on the authorized operating system you want to deauthorize.
You will have to wait until you have 5 authorizations, at which point you can clear them all and start over, reauthorizing the machines you want to.

sharing does not show up on the side column ... tried turning off home sharing then turning it back on ... shared shows up untell i click "done " then its gone.
Yes, I have also tried and failed when setting up Home Sharing. I have followed the instruction given on the Support website, but this is all I see:
Both computers are on the same local network and both allow Home Sharing and are signed in with the same user name. I am not sure what else to do. Any suggestions? -
How do i turn off home sharing and transfer my ITunes library to another computer?
Your music will only be where you put it. You can download the itunes program and sign into your account on any computer, but your music/content will not be there unless you put it there.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod. File>Transfer Purchases -
Cannot get home sharing to work with my new apple TV. Have the latest version of ITunes and the apple TV is connected to my wi-fi network. The instruction page says to go to the Advanced menu option of ITunes and choose Home Sharing. This option does not exist. The closest I can find is under the File option>Home Sharing where my only option is to turn off home sharing. There is no home sharing icon and Apple TV insist that the home sharing is not turned on.

Can I turn off home sharing for other computers from my own?
I recently got a new computer and would like to add my music library to it. When I try to enable home sharing a message pops up stating that I already have 5 computers on my home sharing network. I don't have all of the 5 computers because some have broken and so my question is that, is there any way for me to turn off home sharing for those computers from my own?
No such thing is possible via iTunes.
What is possible is deathorizing all computers and then authorize only the one's that you have access to.

I connected to home share on my ipad iphone and macbook pro now it's asking me to turn on home share on the apple tv but I have no other remote, any ideas?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If home sharing isn't enabled on the Apple TV, you will need the aluminium remote that came with it to do so. -

How can I turn off home sync?
If the Mac is pushing photos to the iPhone, look in iTunes, click on the iPhones in the sidebar and select the photos tab on top. Uncheck Sync Photos.

6700 - turn off the Share Your Photos option on th...
Hi,
I hope someone can help me with a 6700 Slide issue.
How do you turn off the 'Share Your Photos' option on the main screen ?
I've spent hours looking through all the menus but can't seem to find out how to do it.
I've managed to turn off all the other icons/menus on the main screen so I can see the Wallpaper image clearly.
This is the last item I need to remove.
Thanks.
Mark
Solved!
Go to Solution.That's awesome !!!
The 'Share Your Photos' option is finally gone :-)
Thank you !
What a weird place to hide that setting in. I wonder why it isn't on the 'Personalisation'--'Standby mode' options screen like the other display related optins ?????
Cheers, Mark -
How do your turn off home sharing on a ipod
I have to iPods and I would like to turn off home sharing off how can I turn it off
Welcome to the Apple Community. It isn't home sharing that matters here. I suspect you are wanting to either de authorise a computer or remove a associated device from your ID, you can do both of these in your iTunes account settings on a computer.

Use 2nd gen apple tv and remote control app on iphones and ipad. We can control some functions on the apple tv but unable to purchase, access such controls as reset, restart, turn off home sharing, etc. Home sharing stuck on old apple ID. Please help.
That is why I said to restore via iTunes, did you check the link?
This will put it back to factory settings and you can set it up with the new ID once you reconnect with your HDTV. This is not done via ethernet, as per the link you need to connect to the computer via micro usb. You cannot bypass home sharing.
FYI: An Apple ID cannot be deleted so the old one would still exist (even if you no longer use the email account it is associated with). -
