Turn OFF new sms notification

(e-series) i would like not to have the "1 new message" notification come up on the screen when an sms comes in. when i receive an email i just get the email symbol showing up in the corner. it would be nice to have the same happen when an sms comes in. less intrusive. i don't think it's possible without some third party software. any ideas??

Hi, This may work for you,
Go to settings, then profiles, scroll down to SMS alert then reduce sound level to zero.

  • Cannot turn off new mail notification sound

    Hi,
I've set all notifications for mail to be off under System Preferences > Notifications. As of right now I have Mail showing under "not in notification center" yet the "ding" sound continues to happen each time I get a new email. If someone could please tell me what I might be missing, or if this is a bug I would really aprpeciate it.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Turning off new iCloud notifications?

    Hi,
I understand due to the recent celebrity security breaches and I saw the article about tightened iCloud security and increased notifications... how do I turn that off?
For example, I log into my iCloud in a web browser regularly to access contacts/manage calendar, etc. and now I get an email saying I logged in from a web browser every time.
    Can that be disabled?

I have the same issue. I am getting e-mail notifications on the hour, every hour, and I'm not staying up all day and night signing into mu iCloud account.  Is this a scam, or spam? Can I just delete and ignore these notifications? How can I stop receiving these notifications?

  • Can't turn off new email notifications. (iphone5)

Randomly, I started getting pinged with every incoming email even though I have sounds for new email set to off.  Silent vs. non-silent doesn't make a difference. (iphone5)

Check Settings > Notifications > Mail > [each and every email account you have] > New Mail Sound

    From this website: http://www.marekbell.com/?p=77
    1. Go to the Settings app
    2. Select Notifications
    3. Select Messages
    4. Scroll down and you’ll see the Repeat Alert setting… change it to whatever you prefer.

  • How to turn off threaded sms on iPhone 4?

    Hi all
I get lost in the way iPhone stores the sms messages. I cannot find back to both incoming and outgoing messages since they are not stored in one linear time sequence.  The same functionality was also (by default)?) on the e-mails but happily that could be disabled.  If it is impossible to turn off threaded sms I quite frankly must buy another phone.
Hope someone out there has discovered how to disable the threaded sms functionality.
    Cheers

This is not an option on the iPhone.

  • Turn off app update notification?

Have several installed that rarely get used and see no need to either delete or update.
Can one turn off app update notifications (store icon)?

However, you can delete them but leave them on the computer. I've done that with quite a few. That way, you can get them back easily.

    Hi ManiPictures,
If your iPhone shuts down unexpectedly during use, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
If your iOS device restarts, displays the Apple logo, or powers off while you're using it - Apple Support
As your iPhone's operating system is already up to date with iOS 8.1.1, follow the last instruction -
If you still see this issue after updating, contact Apple Support.
