How can you turn off notifications for app store?
Each time I go to a forum site, it tells me there is an app for Tapatalk for the site to chat with. If I click on cancel, it continues to pop up each time I try to respond on the forum. If I click on OK, it takes me to the app store to buy the app for Tapatalk, which I do not want. How do I turn off this notification that keeps popping up? I do not see anyway to do this in the settings.
I hate that too. What you are seeing is a 'feature' of the forum's website. They want you to down load their app. It's not coming from apple, but the website.

How do I turn off notifications for Software Updates?
In the 'Notifications' section of the 'System Preferences' app, there is no tab for managing the notifications of System Updates nor App Store.
Hey--- I like auto-checking for updates, and hey--- I like auto-downloading them in the background.
BUT I do not like being notified of updates in the middle of working! Especially when it's iTunes updates. Grrrr.
Any chance this is easy and I just missed it?
THANKS COMMUNITY!Settings > Notification Center > Mail > Select the mail account (if more than one) > Alert Sound > None

Can you turn off notification for emails
How can you turn off notification for email but leave it on for text?
Suds57 Thanks for posting, made me look a little deeper because I kept looking in general settings not specific app settings. Appreciate both of the responses to this!

I would like to turn off notifications for duplicate mail messages.
Thanks,
Ralph SaperteinKurt told you how to turn it off. To learn the Spotlight differences between Tiger and Leopard, see http://www.pinkmutant.com/articles/Leopard/leospot.html and my mod to Finder's Find at http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6725932 for what you can change so you can find stuff excluded by Leopard's default structure.

Turn off cellular for apps and they turn back on. Fast battery drain. Shuts down at 30-40%. Battery reads "0" when but rises quickly to 17 & charges. Happened after IOS upgrades. Have 3 iPhone 4S for 1-2 years & 1 iPhone 5, w/same problem.
Back up and restore using iTunes.

HT2978 how do you turn off genius for apps ios 6 pleasssss help my appstore keeps on crashing
how do you turn off genius for apps ios 6 pleasssss help my appstore keeps on crashing
What you are saying is true but it will not always work. The aap store is dead. Wen I go to the fret urged page I see a white screen. I should be able to scroll down to the bottom and select View Apple ID but can't. This is on my wife's iPad and she thought after she upgraded to iOS 6.0 when it prompted her to turn on Genius that's what caused the trouble and she wanted to turn off Genius. NO CAN DO in App Store.
To turn off Genius I had to go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID xxxxx then click view Apple ID then I can turn Genius off and on.
But the did not fix the problem with the App Store which is still dead. -
I just bought the Iphone 5. I turned on Genius for apps and now can't get out of it. I do not have any apps stored and I can not access the account info to disable it. How can I access the account info or turn off Genius another way?
If you have an iPhone 3GS, you can upgrade it to the latest version of iOS, 6.0.1, so any app that doesn't require a newer model of iPhone (as some apps do) should run. See:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623
As long as your iPhone remains activated, upgrading iOS should not be a problem. You will need a valid SIM from the UK carrier, though having a contract with them or unlocking the iPhone will not be necessary as long as you just want to use the iPhone as an iPod touch.

Can't turn off twitter text notifications. I tried settings, notifications, but the notification center doesn't have the twitter option. I also tried settings, sounds, tweet, none- for alert tones. This is still not turning it off. Twitter people said it's not their problem. Is anyone having this problem?
It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:
http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/baddns.php
http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/hackedrouter.php
If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

How can I turn off notifications for parental control time limits?
Tears of frustration from my two boys every night as their parentally controlled hour of Minecraft is spoiled by the countdown warnings which HAVE to be clicked - amounting to fatal hesitation in their game in progress.
Can these time notifications be made passive - or turned off completely?
Ideas for a workaround?i dont know about whatsapp or other 3rd party apps 0 they may have setting options to do what you want - but for text messages and Facebook posts you can go to Settings/Sounds and set the sound for those 2 things to None

How do I turn off notifications for shared GMail calendars?
I use GMail and have several shared calendars for work. I have added these calendars to iCal on my iPhone 5 running iOS8. Through iCal, I have the settings so that only 2 calendars from my shared GMail calendars show up on my phone, however, there is one un-checked calendar (that has a daily event) that notifies me every single day of the event the next day! There are no alerts set for these events on the Google Calendar settings and the calendar isn't even supposed to show up on my phone's calendar, yet I'm still notified. Any ideas how to fix this or is it just a bug?
Thanks,

Turn Off Notifications for Specific Threads
Hi:
In a weak moment or two, I replied to several threads I wish I hadn't. For example, I replied to "What is your reaction to using Lion?." This thread gets jillions of replies--so unless I say no to "Automatically receive notifications for all discussions I reply to:," I get jillions of email notificantions about a thread I am not interested in. Is threre a way to turn off notificantions on specific threads. I would like to notified about many of the threads I have replied to, but can't afford to do so becuse of my prior sins--replying to essentially useless threads that get jillions of replies.
Help!!!...so unless I say no to "Automatically receive notifications for all discussions I reply to:,"....
Go ahead and say 'no' to all of the "automatic" items in Email Notification Preferences (that's all of them except the last one).
You can still receive notifications from those threads you want to track by selecting the 'Receive email notification" item in the Actions box in the RH sidebar for each of those threads. You can undo that for each thread the same way. -

Manually turned off notifications for Mail & Facetime, now can not re-activate
I originally worked with Bob Seufert to solve a No incoming Email Alert that was a result of my 'Fat fingering' the the 'Do not Disturb' icon while closing the Control Center. We worked out that all incoming mail provided both the preset email alert plus a badge when my iPad was in Standby mode (not in use). Now after activating the Do Not Disturb icon to not alert me of email or Facetime during night hours, I used the Do Not Disturb icon in the Control Center to r-enotify me of incoming mail and Facetime by Sund Alrert. But as the day wore on , I found that the ntification was not working. I have gone through all the stes Bob had recommended to make sure nothing had changed and performed a reset.
Would someone else have an idea what I may have pushed incore=rectly?Bob, As usual, you came to my rescue again. Now your weekend will be free of me not bothering you.
I will investigate the Table of Content in the IOS 7 book's Table of Contents. I felt the My iPad book was a good reference book for beginners, but I am finding it is not a guide for troubleshooting or explaining certain features such as PUSH, etc, the definition of the characters in the Control Center You said that I can set those features for my email accounts. In Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Fetch New Data, the email Accounts are listed with PUSH, FETCH or MANUAL. IF the email account is already set to PUSH, you can only change it to FETCH , MANUAL or PUSH, but if email account is set to FETCH, The only options available are FETCH and MANUAL. I do not not know of any other location where I can set those options and I know it is not an option when setting up a new account. I was looking for the set up steps in the IOS 7 and My iPad book -
Turning off NTLM for App Builder
I am using the NTLM authentication as described in http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=18326:44:::::P44_ID:1722
This works fine, but I realized that it works at a DAD level, because my dads.conf now has
LoadModule ntlm_module libexec/mod_ntlm.so
<Location /pls/htmldb>
SetHandler pls_handler
Order deny,allow
Allow from all
AllowOverride None
PlsqlDatabaseUsername HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER
PlsqlDatabasePassword htmldb123
PlsqlDatabaseConnectString myconnectstring
PlsqlDefaultPage htmldb
PlsqlDocumentTablename wwv_flow_file_objects$
PlsqlDocumentPath docs
PlsqlDocumentProcedure wwv_flow_file_manager.process_download
PlsqlAuthenticationMode Basic
PlsqlNLSLanguage american_america.al32utf8
AuthType NTLM
AuthName "NTLM authentication"
NTLMAuth On
NTLMAuthoritative On
NTLMBasicAuth On
NTLMDomain mydomain
NTLMBackup mypdc
NTLMServer mybackuppdc
require valid-user
</Location>So, in effect, even during development, every page view in HTML DB Application Builder also talks to my domain PDC to get my domain id and stuff.
This is unnecessary, I need all that NTLM stuff only when running my applications, not when running HTML DB pages itself.
Any ideas?
ThanksI am seeing that sometimes pages take a long time to load or even timeout (404 or some other errors) when I am working in the App Builder environment.
This used to be fine before, so I started to take a look at my Apache logs and saw some NTLM/SMB related timeouts when Apache was fetching information from my domain server.
Strictly speaking, I don't need NTLM authentication when I am using the Application Builder, only my apps need it (my page sentry uses it), so I thought it might be prudent to reduce this "unnecessary load" on my domain server/network.
Thanks.
