Turn off optimistic locking to prevent ORA-20001

Hi there,
Is it possible to turn-off optimistic locking for tabular forms generated by wizard?
I am using APEX 2.2.0.
I am having ORA-20001 update errors, the only person who is using the form is me. I have read in this forum the solutions some of you have posted to resolve ora-20001 update or delete failures but they all do not work.
I have also read that a turn on and off future will be available in APEX 3.0
Do maybe know how I can turn-off the optimistic locking for my table.
Regards
RobH

I think that the checksum is calculated from the values in the editable fields (hidden or otherwise) when the query is done. If you disable a field later on then it is not included in the checksum for the multi-record update, so you'll get an error when you submit changes.
This isn't anything to do with whether fields are shown or not, but I've just encountered this problem and found there's nothing about it on the forums. Since your problem is also not on the forums I thought it might be the same thing.

  • Unix command to turn "off" caps lock or turn it "on" on lab machines

    Hi,
I'd like to be able to send a unix command to a lab of panther eMacs. I'm using Apple Remote Desktop 3.2 I would like to send both "turn on cap locks" to all the machines, or "turn off cap locks to all the machines.
Many of my "Send Unix Command" are applescripts (osascript....) so either a unix command or applescript command would be welcome.
    Thanks!

Well, I've been busy trying some things and found a beautiful little applescript that will turn off caps lock on 10.4 machines and newer. I'll paste it in below. Here's the problem...
I can't seem to get it to run in ARD as a unix command. (I put the osascript as first line when I pasted it in... This usually works for sending applescript commands)
So, any ideas on how to get it to run as a unix command??
IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET THIS TO WORK ON PANTHER MACHINES?? (they don't have the "modify keys..." button in the keyboards and mice pane of sys prefs). The bulk of our machines (over 300 are eMacs running panther).
    *** script ******
    tell application "System Preferences"
    activate
set current pane to pane "com.apple.preference.keyboard"
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
    tell application process "System Preferences"
    get properties
click button "Modifier Keys…" of tab group 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
tell sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse"
    click pop up button 1
click menu item "No Action" of menu 1 of pop up button 1
    delay 3
    click button "OK"
    end tell
    end tell
    end tell
tell application "System Preferences" to quit

  • Turn off scroll lock

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro and cannot turn off scroll lock, so when using Excel the arrow keys move the spreadsheet rather than the next cell.  I have searched numerous threads and all refer to F14 plus either shift or command but I can't find any reference to the shortcut for F14.

    Hi,
I had the same problem (Macbook Air) and the only way I could solve it was by plugging in a USB keyboard (it was a microsoft keyboard) then pressing shift-Scroll Lock.
Simply pressing Scroll-Lock only activated the keyboard illumination control so did not work.

  • HT4113 Can not turn off passcode lock

I can not turn off passcode lock. I see it and it is grayed out. I can change the password, etc. but I can not turn it off  I plugged the phone into a friends computer a few days ago to charge it. Does that have something to do with it?

There is an exchange account on the device and the Admins of that account require a passcode lock on the device.

  • Turning off Opportunistic Locking in Windows 2012 Server?

I have recently switched my database hosting and am having trouble with "Hour Glass" for about 20-30 seconds when trying to save files.  I have contacted my application company (Resumate..........database,CRM built on an ACCESS type platform)
    and we are brainstorming solutions.
One solution is to turn off opportunistic locking as Windows might actually be locking the file (We have five users using the same file connecting using Remote Desktop Services).  Our system has worked seemlessly with our other hosting
option but this delay when trying to save files is not acceptable.
SO, HOW DO WE TURN OFF OPPORTUNISTIC LOCKING IN WINDOWS SERVER 2012 R2?
    Thanks Phil H.   Charlotte, NC

    Hi,
As you may notice that we cannot disable Opportunistic locking in using SMB2 or SMB3.
    See:
    https://login.live.com/kb/296264/en-us
The opportunistic locking registry keys are valid only for traditional SMB (SMB1). You cannot turn off opportunistic locking for SMB2.
From your description it is the limitation of the application - SMB2 comes with Windows Vista /Windows 2008, which means the vendor of the application did not recommend to use SMB2 or the application is released for earlier systems while SMB2 is not available
    at that time.
If there is no update version, you can try to disable SMB2/3 on server to workaround it. Please run this cmdlet:
    Set-SmbServerConfiguration -EnableSMB2Protocol $false
    More information please refer to:
How to enable and disable SMBv1, SMBv2, and SMBv3 in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012

  • Cannot turn off passcode lock on ipad ios 7.0.3

I am unable to turn off passcode lock on an iPad running IOS7.0.3.  When I get to the screen in Settings > General > Passcode Lock, "Turn Passcode Off" is greyed out and cannot be used.  Hence I am stuck with having to enter a passcode even though I don't want to any longer.  The problem is not that I do not know the passcode, simply that I can't turn off the passcode lock.  Any thoughts?

is this your iPad or one administered by someone else...for example if I use an iPad from work our IT policy dictates that I must use a passcode and I am not allowed to turn it off.
If it's yours, just a shot in the dark, do you have restrictions enabled? If so, go in and disable them then see if that will allow you to turn off the passcode lock.

Is there a way to TURN OFF CAPS LOCK ?

SOMEHOW ?? Can you HELP !
    Warm Regards,

    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Install Double Command, available from http://doublecommand.sourceforge.net/ . This will allow you to specifically disable the caps lock key. Make sure it will work with 10.3.9 before installing.

  • TS2771 how to fix my ipod touch, because everytime i use or i play games sometimes it will turn off/closed/lock....how to fixed that problem

how to fix my ipod touch, because everytime i use or i play games sometimes it will turn off/closed/lock....how to fixed that problem

Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod
if still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Turning off portrait lock mode on my iphone5

I cannot turn off the portrait lock mode on my iphone5. I went to the apple support sites and everyone says to double click home button, then scroll until I find the icon (lock with an arrow circling around it) and that icon is NOWHERE to be found.  I see every other icon for various other apps etc. but not this one.  Is there another way?  I am perplexed. HELP!

    IOS7: Screen Orientation (Rotate)
Swipe UP from the bottom edge of the screen to see the Control Center, tap the top right icon next to the Crescent to lock/unlock screen orientation.

  • How do I turn off the "locked" setting on my documents

A new feature of OS 10.7 that I never experienced on older versions of OS is that my documents will automatically "lock" themselves if I go for a period of time without using them.
Now, it's not a difficult thing to overcome. A dialogue box lets me "unlock" the documents with one click.
But even one click is annoying. I don't want any of my documents to lock at all, under any circumstances.
How can I instruct my Mac to turn off this feature? I can't find any related setting in the system preferences.
It doesn't even seem to be working as its supposed to. Some of my documents autmatically revert to the "locked" setting just days after I use them.

Check the Time Machine prefPane. IIRC, there's an option to select locking files, which has nothing to do with TM.

  • Ipod keeps playing after it has been paused, turned off and locked

I have this problem with my 30 gb ipod: I play a song and pause the ipod, i turn it off and then lock it. go to sleep. The next day i looked at the ipod and it is playing songs. This depletes the battery because it has been playing all night. It happens also after I finish playing a song completely (it is not paused). I turn it off and lock it. The next day it shows playing songs.
Please help. is there a setting I have to change? Is this a bug? What should I do?
    Rgds,
    Albert

You probably have an alarm set which turns on the ipod and starts it playing.
Go to main menu of iPod, EXTRAS -> Clock -> go into any of the clocks shown -> Alarm Clock and then see if it is ON.

  • How do I turn off "Activation Lock" from found I pod Touch?

I have found my Ipod ouch (fifth generation) by use of Icloud, but now I can not turn the "Activation Lock" removed from my device. The device keeps on typing letters rapidly in the space I am to iput my apple password.  I have used several procedures fro apple support to restore my device to no avail, , but by following a procedure called DFU in a blog. I was able (I thought) to rest the Ipod and sync with Itune, but the problem sitill exists and I do not have control of the Ipod (half of digital keyboard is covered with vertical color lines and keyboard is self typing in the password space) Also I have not been able to turn find my Ipod off in the devive.  I cloud is no help after I removed the device following one of apple's support procedures
    Appreciate Any help.

You're welcome.  Activation lock looks like the image below.  There shouldn't be any verticle lines.  You have to enter the ID (which is only partially shown) and password that were used to originally activate the device in order to reactivate it.

  • IPod Touch turns off when lock button is pressed.

My father accidentally put my dog's cage on top of my iPod Touch...surprisingly it was fine. Or so I thought. A few minutes later the volume started acting strange, which I think was a problem with the button. Somehow I fixed that after playing around with it. But when I pressed the lock button, the iPod turned off, and wouldn't turn back on, as if it had no battery life whatsoever. When I got home, I plugged it in, and thankfully it responded. I thought it was fine, until I tried to press the lock button again. It completely dies every time the button is pressed. Which I suppose is alright, as long as I never press that button again but that's rather annoying. Any ideas on what to do with that?

Sounds like you have a internal connection problem in the iPod. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of a local Apple store.

  • Windows 10: Second display "turns off" in lock screen

Unfortunately some of these quirks are why people don't upgrade straight away, on the plus side by having over 14M people upgrade in less than 2 days MS now has a lot of faults found and fixes to work on - quickly. We hope.
That said I have a dual screen setup and my monitors retain the screen space settings.
The fact yours is a laptop maybe indicative of your issue - does your laptop have dual graphics,  e.g. one for high use games and one for low use 2D?
Does it turn off 3D settings - it may not be a Windows 10 thing but more of a setting that has defaulted.

I don't recall having this problem with Win 7 Pro, just upgraded to 10 pro a few days ago.I have an HP Probook 450 G2 (with up-to-date graphics driver) and a dual monitor setup. Main display is on HDMI and second display is on VGA. When I lock my laptop (Win+L), it seems to "turn off" the second display and shifts any applications I had in the second display to the main display. While a relatively small issue, it is rather annoying to have to drag applications back over to the second display when I resume working. It doesn't seem to happen right away though, nor does it seem to trigger when display is set to sleep at 20 minutes. I'm not sure how else to explain this. I've found posts of a similar nature on Spiceworks and other forums, but nothing seems to help.Thispostis from a while ago and is related to Win 7, but does seem to describe...
