Turn off or security on WLAN

Is there a way for me to turn off the WLAN on my wireless router(WRT54G) or a security so no one can connect to my router?

Depending on the version of your router (see the label underneath) you can turn off the router with the mode configuration on the wireless setup tab. It should show something like b-only, g-only, mixed and off. Check the manual of your router model & version for details. The manual is available for download from www.linksys.com.

Which problems did you have that you decided to reset Firefox?
Note that if you have visited pages before on a server via a secure connection then Firefox will prefer to using a secure connection (a reset imports the history).
You can set the Boolean browser.urlbar.autoFill pref to false to disable auto-fill on the location bar.

I have put Ipod in restore mode and about 1/2 way through download it goes back to message "disabled type in passcode" ?? I have turned off all security and tried all trouble shooting ideas, any suggestions?? besides paying $$$$ to apple tech support

What appears to be happensin is that before the actual download finishes/restore starts. the recovery mode is timing out. I would do a manual download using the instructions here:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Then place the iPod in Recovery mode and restore using the instructions in the link.

  • Turn off fingerprint security but no Alt password

I need help. I recently purchased the S5. Last night I was playing with the settings and turned on the fingerprint protection. I actually want to turn off this because I hate it but it asks for an alternate password, which I have never setup. Does anyone have any idea how I can change this without doing a hard reset?
    Thanks

Oh no! I'm sorry that you aren't fond of the fingerprint security.
Please try these steps to avoid a hard reset.
    Settings
    Quick settings
    Finger scanner
    Finger print manager
(in this step, you will need to verify by scanning your finger print)
Select menu (in the upper right hand corner where the 3 dots are)
    Choose Deselect
Please let me know if this gets rid of the fingerprint security option.

  • I keep getting an upgrade to firefox 5 beta. It needs me to turn off my security which I won't. Is there a upgrade to firefox 5 beta? How can I get rid of it? It looks fake!!!

Every time I log on, it comes up saying an upgrade is available. I click on it and it tells me to turn off my McAfee. I will not turn it off. There is a half of the firefox logo on the screen. I suspect this is a fake website and encouraging me to think that it is a legal website so I can download the upgrade. I won't do it. I visit your sites and it doesn't show as an upgrade to 5 beta. Can you please get back to me on this as soon as possible? Thank you very much.
    Ezekiel Moonihoawa

It is possible that you are still on the beta update channel if you ever installed a Firefox 4 beta version or a release candidate.<br />
You can check that by looking at the pref <b>app.update.channel</b> on the about:config page.<br />
If the value of that pref is beta then it is better to download and install the latest Firefox 4.0.x release.

  • TS3694 getting a 3014 error message when trying to recover my itouch. All PC software is currect, I have disconnected all USB ports and even turned off all security and still get a 3014 error. I got this after I upgraded to IOS 10.7.0.21

I am getting a 3014 error message when trying to recover my iTouch after upgrading to 10.7.0.21. Everything worked fine until the upgrade. My PC is current with upgrades, I have unplugged all USB connections and I have disabled my firewall security.

    Did you try this:
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

  • Turning off Microsoft Security Essentials for another antivirus?

Hello there, I read (when activating MSE) that running two antiviruses may cause issues. I plan on using AVG so I was wondering if Microsoft Security Essentials is really necessary. I use this PC for high end gaming so I would like every ounce of CPU power
it has allocated to the applications I choose. Thank you for any insight into this matter.

Selection of an antivirus up to user preference.. Don't use both that could potentially cause issues.. Read the reviews and select an antivirus that matches for your requirement.. some usefull tips can be found here.. Choosing
an Anti-Virus Program  . Use either AVG or MSE but not both.. Both programs are listed under http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/antivirus-partners#AVtabs=win7
If you have further concern regarding MSE I would recommend Microsoft Security essential forum.. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/mse-protect_start-windows_7?sort=lastreplydate&dir=desc&tab=Threads&status=&mod=&modAge=&advFil=&postedAfter=&postedBefore=&threadType=All&tm=1395452219591

  • 2Wire Router Issues - How to Turn off Security

There appears to be an ongoing issue with MacBook wireless and the 2Wire routers (via AT&T/SBC). My wireless was working fine until I downloaded the recent Apple updates.
I saw one fix for this posted here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=874076
However, I do not know how to turn off the security to the router. Also, what would be the implications of doing so?
Have any other MacBook/2Wire users had this issue and come up with a fix until Apple does? Just called Customer Service, and they don't have any fixes at this time.
    Thanks!

You will need to follow the directions in the 2Wire user guide.

  • How do I turn off Security Warning?

I have a fillable pdf form that I created with Acrobat 9 and distribute via my website. The form has ‘more info’ links that point to informative html pages on my website. The problem is that clicking the ‘more info’ links pop up a Security Warning on the user's computer.
How do I turn off the Security Warning? My website IS safe! Do I need a security clearance from Adobe to turn off the Security Warning?

Nope. That's all on the users end and beyond your control.
They can allow it once and have it remember from there on out or they can add you to their trusted sites.
If you could bypass it on your end, there wouldn't be any reason to have that feature.

  • Can't Turn Off Secure Unlock

Hi - brand new Palm Pixi Plus buyer/user. I can't turn off the Secure Unlock function - I've read the instructions several times and have touched, flicked, nailed, etc and it doesn't work. Help??? And excuse me being such a newbie. Ely

Do you have an Exchange account set up on the phone?  There's an Exchange security policy that can be enforced to require your phone to be locked, which basically forces you to put a password/pin on and removes the option to remove it.  The only way to remove it is to remove the account from your phone.

  • How can I turn off the WLS 6.1 security in order to develop my own application-based security module?

    Dear Colleagues,
I am currently developing a J2EE application using WLS 6.1.
My team and I have to implement a security requirement to suit our company's needs.
The security requirements are that, users' password need to be aged (30 days maximum) and we need to provided a GUI front-end (JSP) to allow users to change their password when these expire after 30 days.
Our internal contacts in the company, have already taken the lead to find out about whether we will be able to use the WLS 6.1 platform to do this and the answer we got back, was.
Now we need to develop our own security module.
    I have 2 questions:
    1. How can we turn off the WLS security in order develop our own application-based security module?
    2. How can we develop a security module that allows us to age users' password and provide them with facilities to change their passwords when these expire?
At the moment, we are using the default BEA WebLogic login.jsp page and there some configuration in the web.xml for this. I will be grateful if you could advise me on how to turn this default security off so that we can write our own security module.

    hi,
1.You can write your own realm in 61 which can plugged for your security
    calls.
    2. once you write your ownrealm.. you can access it through weblogic
    api/ur api..
    thanks

    Hi the_mad_movies,
It seems like this article will be the best option for addressing this issue:
