Turn off passcode access but keep fingerprint access on

Please can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn off the passcode but keep fingerprint access activated

I'm afraid that's not supported.

I know there's the code to make it 2-D and non-reflective like in tiger, but I was wondering if there's a terminal code to turn off reflections and keep it 3-D.

    Try this one:

  • Turn off Lockscreen notifications but keep Notification Centre?

I like the notification centre, and I like the lockscreen, but really hate lockscreen notifications. Is there a way to turn off the wall of notifications on the lockscreen, but still leave them in the notification centre where they belong? I've tried turning off 'show on lockscreen' for all my apps, but then they don't show up in the notification centre until I unlock the device, making the notification centre a little pointless. Is there an option I'm missing somewhere?

  • Turning off Xmas music but keeping it in library

Oops--I posted this question in the wrong forum, so here goes again:
So I added some Christmas music to my iTunes library and updated my nano so that I could enjoy it in December. But now, I can't get rid of it! I've updated and synced my ipod--I can easily add new things--but no luck with the Xmas stuff. I unchecked all the boxes--because I wanted to keep it in my library--shouldn't that be reflected on my iPod? I don't want to delete all my Xmas music--am I missing something? I'm not the most with-it iPod user I guess. Thanks!
PS on another thread it looks like I need to delete totally. Oh well.

I unchecked all the boxes--because I wanted to keep it in my library--shouldn't that be reflected on my iPod?
Only if you have the iPod set to "only sync checked items". With this setting selected, if you remove the check marks from any songs in iTunes, they will not be transferred to the iPod. You can restore the check mark if you want to put the songs back on the iPod at a later date.
Or, you could put the Xmas items in a playlist in iTunes, then you could set the iPod to sync with "selected playlists".

  • Turn off remote access to g1100?

I have recently signed up for fios and have been supplied with a verizon g1100 wireless router.  Both the fios service and the router are working without problems.  However, I see that the router reports its internal settings, including my wireless password, to verizon, because I can view them when I sign in to my verizon account.  Also, the user guide for the router says (p.14, line 6) "Firmware updates are performed automatically by verizon".  I can understand the convenience of these arrangements for verizon and some users, but I also see them as a potential security risk.   Is there a way that I can forgo the convenience and turn off external access to the g1100?   I know that I can replace the verizon router with one of my own, but it seems otherwise satisfactory, so I would like to keep using it if I can do so more securely.

Apologies for the trouble your having, but there is really no other option to close the port off. It's hard-coded into the router. Just in my opnion in the long run, it would be best if you used your own router. I've switched out the Verizon router with my own pfSense router, and have never been more happy. The level of control you gain over your network is excellent when using your own router.I agree with you. How can the OP bridge that vdsl modem OR use their own vdsl modem?I see no mention of bridging a vdsl modem or using his own. What's being stated is for the op to use his own router instead of the g1100 that is behind the verizon vdsl modem.  I guess the op would like to use the g1100 as it's a better modem but can't disable 4321.  Of course he could just cascade  his own router off the g1100 and have his on-premise network off his personal router where 4321 is blocked, leaving the g1100 in place for less sensitive access.Could also do the reverse.  Connect your own router to the vdsl modem blocking 4321 and then cascade the g1100 off off of it.

  • Is it possible to turn off my access to the exchange server?

I'm feuding with the ITS department at the moment. They claim they don't want to support my iPhone, they only want us to use the crappy Blackberries they gave everyone. I had to set up my own iPhone - Exchange connection, and it has all worked fine up to now, but about 3 hours ago my entire connection to the Exchange Server was killed. I get no email, no contacts, no calendar, nothing. My fellow iPhone users (3 in my office) aren't getting email either.
I suspect that the evil ITS administrator has turned off access to iPhones, but nobody believes me. Is that possible? Is there any way around it? I don't want to have to carry two phones.
The ITS administrator told my boss this morning (shortly before i got disconnected) that Microsoft might be "turning off" the access to iPhones from Exchange servers. That didn't make sense to me, because Apple is paying MS for the right to use Exchange, right? Also, I googled and couldn't find anything about that kind of an announcement. Has anyone else had issues today?

    gamecoug,
Administrators of an Exchange server can block access for ActiveSync devices server wide, account specific, or even device specific.
In addition using ActiveSync they can specify security policies for connected phones. The iPhone supports remote wipe as well.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • I, too, keeping getting a pop up when in Safari that is from "tap-security.rubicon....  I saw the suggestion to turn off all extensions, but this didn't help.  What next can be done?

I read that several other people have been bothered by a drop down message talking about a bad certificate and perhaps non secure site when working in Safari.  I, too, keeping getting this pop up when in Safari that is from "tap-security.rubicon....  I saw the suggestion to turn off all extensions, but this didn't help.  What next can be done?

If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide, AdwareMedic, or Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac - Apple Support.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.

Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.
