  • I can't get my 6th gen nano to stop shuffling songs in a playlist.  I turned off "Shake to Shuffle", to no avail. Extra annoying when the playlist is an audio-book. Can anyone advise?

Many of my playlists are audiobooks that I have borrowed from the library on CD and downloaded, not the ebook type. It is, of course, extremely annoying to have the tracks shuffled.  Is this something I am doing, or a problem with my nano?  I do have the latest version of iTunes.

I finally exported my music to a DVD and moved it to another computer that I just bought. When I plugged in the Nano, I tried restoring the settings again. Even though I had just restored a few days before that and updated the Nano software on the other computer, it told me new software was available for the Nano! So it went thru the restore process and I loaded the music again. Same problem with the unwanted shuffling. When I checked some of the songs, shuffle was ON. I turned it off on a couple of songs, and now it's back to normal. No shuffling. Go figure.

    Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I'd suggest trying the steps in our iPad assistant first:

The weird thing is that after I click shuffle when the random number appears, I click it to turn it off and then I click it on again and it works fine. Is this a glitch or a bug or am I doing something wrong? How do I fix this?

  • Please let us turn off shake to undo "feature"

    Dear Apple,
Please let us have the ability to turn off shake to undo feature on the iPhone. It is a cute feature that never gets implemented when I intend Rather, it is more of a hindrance to have to tap to get past the "Nothing to Undo" or "Undo Typing?" dialog.
Apparently, I am to shaky to type, but have enough motor control to play games and use other motion-controlled apps just fine.
Again, please let us turn off Shake to Undo on the iPhone.
    Thanks

this is a VERY annoying part of my phone (outside of the dropped calls). it happens to me about 10 times per day. i am typing a sms, and go to put my phone down, and the 'nothing to undo' comes up!!! very annoying and i dont know why there isnt a disable for this in the setting.
this is elememtary and they should fix it. and for those it doesnt happen to...
feel grateful that you have more grace than me and the tons of other people online complaining about this.

  • How do I turn off the tiny Shuffle-sized iPod Nano (v6 with a touch screen) when not using its iOS?

    Hello and happy new year.
I decided to use this used iPod Nano (touch screen) as an eight/8 GB flash disk/storage (FAT32). I can access the files just fine. I can always restore it back to use iOS quickly and easily if needed.
However, it never seems to turn off/sleep. I tried holding down the big button on top right (next to the two volume controls [+ and -]), but it never does anything. Also, it says "OK to disconnect." when disconnected.
So, I restored its iOS v1.2 from an old 15" MacBook Pro (2008; Mac OS X 10.5.8) onto it and can turn off easily. However, I cannot access its drive since it is not a MS FS and Windows XP Pro. SP3 asked me to format. How can I turn it off and still use it as an 8 GB USB flash disk/drive without installing and using iTunes?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hey,
Holding in the play/pause and the menu (select) button will force the iPod into disk mode. This is the stand by mode you are talking about.
To turn your iPod off properly you will want to hold down the play/pause button until the screen goes blank and then turn the hold switch on. This is cause the iPod to go to the Apple screen when it turns back on.
    Hope this helps,
    Ms D.

  • Can't Turn Of "shake to shuffle"!!!! iTouch 2G iOS 4.2.1

I feel I have a very unique problem, I can't turn off the Shake to Shuffle mode (I'm going to call it S2S.) Before you say it, I know HOW to turn it off, but it won't actually let me. Actually, I can't change any of the settings in the "music" tab under settings. I change it and play around with other settings, then check back before exiting the settings app and it's the way I set it up. However, after I exit out of the settings and then immediately go back in, everything under the "music" tab is set back to default.
I've tried everything short of a full restore, simply because I JUST put my music on and I don't wanna go through that again! lol I've done the power+home button reset several times and tried to see if there were software updates, etc. Nothings worked!
Usually wouldn't be a big deal, but it always shuffles during my favorite songs. Also, the music player has been randomly stopping in the middle of a song. Not pausing, but stopping, as in there is no "now playing" but it happens on something like song 50 out of 1500, so its not like it was the end of the album...
    Any help for either problem?

had to reset it and set up as new ipod. lost music, but it works fine now.

  • Turning off shake to undo.

    Hi guys.
Whenever I shake my phone by mistake
    It says nothing to undo.
Is there a way to turn off this feature?
    Thanks.

I suggest you send apple feedback about it here

I sent feedback and I am hoping that more people do so we can get a on off switch for this or remove the feature all together

  • I can't turn off hold on my iPod Nano 5th Generation

I wanted to change my song so I pushed the hold switch to off. Unfortunately hold didn't turn off. I took off the top white part that is glued on to turn off hold without the switch, just in case it was the switch that wasn't catching. It didn't work. I don't want to touch or take apart anything else unless I know what I'm doing for fear of breaking it. I just got it back in October 2009. What should I do? Please help!

yea unfortunately there is no Apple Store anywhere near my home and now my iPod is completely ****** up. Songs play with different names and stuff. So I'll have to mail the damned thing in. Thanks for the help though.

  • After turned off, will the shuffle order remain the same when turned back on?

I don't have an iPod currently, but am looking to buy one.  I want to make sure it doesn't reshuffle the song order everytime it is turned off.
    Thanks!

Sounds like you need to contact customer support.  1-800-VERIZON  if you want to call.

  • How can I turn off shake stabiliser so it isn't on automatically

It seems that i ticked a box so that all my video projects have shake stabiliser turned on as standard. I have since found that it slows things down, and also crops video clips which i don't want.
So far i cannot find out how to turn it off for all future projects, allowing me to just use it on particularly bad clips.
Can anyone advise me how to do it?
    Thank you in anticipation

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running? Have you updated 13 to 13.1 yet? If not, please do so.
From your description of the problem, I think that you are pointing to the wrong parties when you use the terms Shake Stabilizer and crop videos. But, let us explore this.
I believe that you are referring to the AutoAnalzyer which is not the Shake Stabilizer. When on, you are likely to find your videos cut and the trims from the cutting stacked. If that is the case, then disable the AutoAnalzyer and its options. To do that, go to the Elements Organizer 13/13.1 workspace, Edit Menu/Preferences/Media-Analysis and uncheck (disable) the AutoAnalyzer and its options there.
Please let us know if the above targeted your problem.
    Thank you.

  • How can I turn off my iTunes shuffling?

playlist won't play in the order I want! I noticed this in OS 4 and now it's still doing it in OS 5! Help

    Hi,

  • Shake to shuffle plays automatically

if the current song you're listening to is paused and you "shake to shuffle" it auto plays the shuffled song
the real issue is that when you put it down IE dropping it on the table or such, it will begin playing with out you knowing, likely draining battery while not in use

You can turn off shake-to-shuffle under Settings.

  • I'd like to turn off the song changing attribute?

When I'm listening to my IPod and I'm doing anything with large movement involved (skiing, mowing, etc), the song changes if I move my arm or body too much.  Is there some way to turn this attribute off?

Turn off shake to shuffle.  From the Users Guide:
You can turn Shake to Shuffle on or off in Settings > Music (it’s on by default). See
    “Music” on page 167.
