Turn Off (sleep mode) Problem

i have a problem with my ipod after i have played a video and i go back to the main menu and i hold down the play/pause button it does not hibernate or sleep or whatever you wanna call it.
its fine after photos and songs is it just becasue of the memory and proce4ss usage or what
normally to fix it i can leave it for 1 minute say and then it turns of just like normal or i can start to play a song then stop it then go back to the menu then its fine is this normal???
P.s i have tried flicking on hold then off again and trying to turn off but i still have to wait????
  Windows XP Pro

yes but it does it every time plus after a minute it turnsa off fine and when its not turning off everything still works fiune its not frozen etc its making me think that maybe its just like the time it takes to wind down after playing a video fullscreen perhaps?

  • How can I make my computer not turn off (sleep mode, or hybernate)? While plugged into the wall.

I have two dogs, and i am trying to see which one is tearing up my couch while im away by recording via my built in camera and "iMovie". But after a few times trying, I relised that my computer "sleeps" or "hybernates" after only a half an hour. It is plugged in, and i went to System Prefrences > energy saver > then clicked on power adapter and moved both "computer sleep and display sleep" to never. turned off my screen saver. and still having issues with this. Am i missing somthing?

Thank you Courcoul, i appericate your help. but if you would have read my whole description, you would have noticed i already tried that. "It is plugged in, and i went to System Prefrences > energy saver > then clicked on power adapter and moved both "computer sleep and display sleep" to never." i also did check the schedule times, and it is off, both wake up times, and sleep times.

  • Turn off sleep mode when closing MacBook

I used my flat screen TV as a monitor for the MacBook, but each time I closed the cover the MacBook goes into sleep mode. How do I shut this off, so it does not go to sleep mode when the cover is closed ?
    Thanks.

There is no system setting for that. You can use an external keyboard and mouse and wake the MBP back up with the lid closed, that's 'clamshell mode'.

The only alternative would be a 3rd party hack like InsomniaX or SleepLess.

  • Turning off sleep mode during high CPU usage

There isn't option to prevent going to sleep mode during high CPU or network usage. This is not professional for serious work like 3D rendering, video montage, downloading or sending large files. Windows is going to sleep during performing serious tasks.
Setting different sleep mode values every time is no way because we didn't know how long these tasks will running.

  • Turn off sleeping mode while backup data

    Hi there,
i want to backup files (1,2 TB) to an extern hard disk overnight but the iMac always fell in sleeping mode. I tried the apps caffeine and should i sleep but nothing changes. Is there somebody to help.
    Greetings, Marco

Have you tried  changing the built in settings?
System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver - set that to never
    and
Energy Saver - set both computer and display sleep to never.
Don't forget to change them back when done.

  • Turn off sleep mode?

is it possible for my computer to not go to sleep when it is closed? and how do i do it?
    thanks!

I believe there may be some application that does it. But usually an external display and mouse does the trick. Close the machine, then plug in the external monitor and mouse/keyboard. It should turn on.

  • Turning off 'Sleep' in Restoring mode

I'm recovering from a bad crash.  I'm in the process of restroing my computer from a time machine backup on a netword drive, but the screen dims and the computer goes to sleep every half and hour or so.  The time remaining is 51 hours, 48 minutes.  Is there some hidden way to make it NOT go to sleep... because eventually I am going to have to!

This website tells you how to turn off sleep through terminal commands. Be sure to type in everything AS IS so that you don't accidentally do something bad. Hope this helps you.
note: the easiest way to do this is to start off your recovery partition or internet recovery, if you're not able to fully boot into your os

My problem: the microserver goes into standby mode after a few hours and has to be brought back by physically pressing the power button. I turned off sleep, hibernate and standby in Windows 7 but this doe not help.
    Please help?

    Hi ZainHoosen,
I'm wondering if it's related to using Windows 7 Pro on a server rather than an OS designed for a server (such as MS Server 2012), but I don't know enough about this product to say for sure.
You may want to try posting this question in the Proliant Server forum board:

  • My iPhone 3gs backed up to the iCloud just fine, but my new iPhone 5 gives me an error and says to turn off airplane mode or use wi-fi.  It is connected to my wi-fi and airplane mode is off.  It can see the internet just fine.  What gives?

I backed up my iPhone 3GS to iCloud.  Activated my iPhone 5 and restored it from iCloud.  But iPhone 5 will not backup to iCloud, only to my MacBook.  When I try to turn it on on the phone it gives me an error that I must turn on Wi-Fi or turn off Airplane mode.  Wi-Fi is on an the phone is talking to the internet just fine and airplane mode is off, but I still get the error. Is this a known problem?

You mean take the cover off of the iPhone, to look inside?  I'd recommend against it.  Even with warranty expired, you might qualify for an out-of-warranty service, which for 3GS is $149.
Other than that, any repair/service options are going to cost money.  You might want to see if a wireless carrier will let you get a new contract & phone.
Out of curiousity, you're just using at as, basically, an iPod Touch, if there's no cell provider?  Did I understand that correctly?

    Remove "Boom" and test.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.

  • Need Resolution to Adobe Reader Error 523:523 without turning off Protected Mode

    Dear  Friends,,
Please go through the below link.
    FYI :
I am using AcroPDF.DLL ActiveX as an OLE object to view PDF files in my application.
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/6609626#6609626
When I am trying view Statements(PDF) in my application with Adobe Reader 10/11 versions , for few statements it triggers " There is problem with Acrobat / reader. If it is  running, Please exit and try again(523:523)". In few forums it has been stated that by turning off the protected mode at start up " Edit-->preferences-->general-->Enable protected mode at start up" resolves this issue. But the client doesnt want to turn off " Protected mode"due to security reason. Can any one help me with this?
    FYKI :
I have got reply from Adobe forums ..

The purpose of re- posting the same query is we need  alternate solution other than Turning OFF Ënable protected Mode at start up.
My client doesn't want to turn it off due to security reasons.
Please advice me in this regard. Thanks a lot.

    Hi Shakti,
Please find the details which you have asked me for.
    1) I am the user  of those encrypted files.
    2) Windows 7 / Windows 8.1.
    3) I am not opening the PDFs in Browser instead I am opening through the application in which Adobe Reader is linked to it to view the PDF files.
I have also updated to Adobe Reader 11.0.08. Still the problem persists.

  • How to turn off Compatibility Mode on Project 2010

I am having trouble turning off Compatibility Mode on Project 2010 in our organization - Project is installed as part of Office Professional Plus 2010.
When I open Microsoft Project it displays [Compatibility Mode] in the title bar.
When I choose Save As, the type of file is "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)". I can go ahead and change this each time to "Project (*.mpp)" but I would like this to be the default setting for all users.
Under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is greyed out and set to "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)".
I have created a GPO under: User configuration - Policies - Administrative Templates - Classic Administrative Templates - Microsoft Project 2010 - Project Options - Save, and I have set "Save Microsoft Project files as" "Project
    (*.mpp)".
My only other choices are "Template" or "Project 2000-2003"
This GPO is applying correctly, however - Project continues to open in Compatibility Mode.
In my GPO, should I be seeing a set of different option for "Save Microsoft Project files as"?
Otherwise, am I missing something else in order to turn off Compatibility Mode for Project?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Paul,
I have tested with a test GPO and these are the results:
When "Save Microsoft Project files as" state is set to "Enabled": Opens in Compatibility Mode and under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is greyed out and set to "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)".
When "Save Microsoft Project files as" state is set to "Disabled": Project opens fine and under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is not greyed out and I can choose "Project", "Microsoft Project
2007", "Microsoft Project 2000-2003" and "Project Template".
What I believe to be the problem is that "Save Microsoft Project files as" options that are available for me to choose in my GPO do not seem to be aware of Office 2010. The options available are:
    "Project (*.mpp)"
    "Template (*.mpt)"
    "Project 2000-2003 (*.mpp)"
There is no specific mention of "Project 2007", it seems like the GPO recognises Project 2007 as the most recent when we are in fact using Office 2010.
Could this be that my Group Policy Templates are for Office 2007 rather than Office 2010? That would be odd as the policy location itself is located under: User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Classic Administrative Templates/Microsoft Project
    2010/Project Options/Save
...so as this specifically mentions Project 2010 I would assume that it is using the correct version.
Another quick note: I needed to Add Template in GPME so that "Classic Administrative Templates" would be available, and the template I added was proj14.adm which I believe is the correct 2010 template.
    Many thanks,
    Van

Make sure that you do not press the Shift key if you start Firefox.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files":
    *https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is a compatibility update available.

  • How to repair sleep mode problem for thinkpad t510

    hi, everybody
Recently, I found that the windows was wakeup once I touch the mouse when the laptop was in the lid closing position. A wireless mouse connected into my laptop. After I close the lid, the windows turns to sleep mode. But once I move the wireless mouse, the windows is wakeup with closing lid. How can I fix this problem? I dont want the window wakeup once I move the wireless mouse. I just simply want windows turns to sleep mode after I close the lid. My operation system is win 7.
    Many thank.
    Solved!

Uncheck the Wake computer checkmarks in Device Manager for your wireless mouse. If it's Bluetooth, disable it for that too.
