Turn off "snap to grid" in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

Whenever I create a text box in a PDF or a form field in form editing; the text box/form field 'snaps' to an unseen grid and I cannot place the box/field where I want it. Any thoughts on how to turn this off?

Yeah, I finally figured it out…it was SO easy! I feel a little silly now.

  • How do you turn off snap to grid in Logic Pro x

    Hi
How do you turn off snap to grid as in garageband .....it was quite simple...
But I don't seem to get to grips with this in logic ....
I have options of smart ...and so on ....
I want to be able to move eg an imported audio file to start wherever I want so not to snap to the nearest beat or bar...
    Anyone know??
    Thanks

Technically you cannot turn it off, but you can choose a very fine resolution which in effect boils down to having it off: ticks. For accurately lining up audio you can use Samples (the smallest snap value, probably equates to GB's off setting?).
I have F5 to F8 assigned to snap values bar, beat, division and tick. Very handy.
The Frames values obviously come in handy when working to video, though there's no law agaist using it without video.
Note that they are ordered from big to smallest.

  • Turn Off Snap to Grid

I accidentally turned on "Snap to Grid." Now I can't get it
    to turn off.
Clicking F5 does nothing, trying to turn it off in the view
    menu does
    nothing. Any suggestions?

I got it fixed. I remembered seeing this before and having to
    add another
keyboard shortcut to the menu item. When I found I had
    already done that,
then I used that shortcut and it turned it off.

  • Can I increase max resolution or turn off snap to grid?

I was wondering if someone could help me with an audio editing problem/question. I'm trying to cut audio at 0 on the waveform and I'm not able to cut exactly where I want to. I've zoomed in all the way and pressed control.shift, which, I guess, incresses the resolution to the maximum (ticks). I find that the cut line is still moving in rather large jumps and I'm not able to cut where I would like (at 0 on the waveform). Is there a way to turn off the snap and increase the resolution even more?

try holding only ctrl instead of ctrl-shift,which doesn't do anything in arrange if i remember well(use that in the matrix)
on the top right of the arrange you can choose the snap setting

  • Problem turning off snap to guide MX11.0.2

    I am using FreehandMX 11.0.2 on a Mac G5 OS10.4.10 - I can no
longer use the view menu to show/hide guides, lock or turn off
snap. I can use the layers menu to show/hide or lock but cannot
turn off snap. I also cannot delete the Guide layer from the layers
menu. I have tried changing keyboard shortcut, deleting preference
file from settings folder but nothing works.

    Willem,
I don't use the F-keys in combination with modifier keys.
    Opt-F1 through
Opt-F8 are used by the system. Check in System
    Preferences>Keyboard &
Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts. Mac OS uses F9 through F12 for
    the Dock, Exposé
    and Dashboard.
If you never use certain system shortcuts, you could disable
    them in System
Prefs and thereby free them up for use in FreeHand. I have
    disabled the Mac
OS Spotlight shortcuts because they conflict with the
    magnifier tools in FH
    and Photoshop.
Here's what I use in FreeHand (US English keyboard layout):
    Grid>Show___F6
    Grid>Snap___F7
    Guides>Show___Opt+Cmd+;(semicolon)
    Guides>Snap___F8
Make sure when setting shortcuts in FH, you check "Go to
    conflict on assign"
to make sure you haven't used the same shortcut twice.
If you use a non-English keyboard layout, you might be seeing
    different
    results.
If you're using Entourage 2004 11.0, make sure to update to a
    current
version, because there's a known conflict with keyboard
    shortcuts in Adobe
    apps there.

  • How do you turn off the auto grid?

How do you turn off the auto grid? I read in a forum that the solution is "View- show- turn off grid". But the weird thing is I had to have that website open to even get the alternative up under "View". If I didn´t, there were other alternatives there. Why?
The second problem is, when I finally got the "Turn off auto grid" alternative up, it will not be unchecked…. I´m working on a mac.
    Thank you in advance!

  • How do i turn on advanced editing in adobe acrobat pro 9

    my icons are dimmed out

Thank you. These are documents I have created my self, either by scanning in or saving as pdfs. I checked on of the documents and it says No Security. And Allowed is listed for all the Document Restrictions Summary choices.
Some background. I first purchased Adobe Acrobat 5 which I used for years. For reasons unknown to me I then purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. It has never allowed me to do anything with the text so I've always ended up with the 5 and only used the 9 to read pdfs sent to me that were newer versions and would not open in 5.
I have just purchased a new computer, Windows 7 OS and now my 5 will no longer work and I am stuck with 9. I have searched the Adobe website to find out how, if one owns the software - paid cold hard (and a goodly amount) cash - one turns on the editing function and have failed miserable. I did try support, but they pretty much hang up if you say the word "9". A couple of techs did try to steer me in some direction which ended up being this forum so....long story short, when one purchases the Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 software, where does one go to turn on the advanced editing capabilities so that the icons are not dimmed out.
    Many thanks!!!!!

  • Is it possible to turn off the fluid grid function in dreamweaver during the process of building your site by mistake? It was working fine and simply stopped and I don't see how to correct what is wrong.

Is it possible to turn off the fluid grid function in dreamweaver during the process of building your site by mistake? It was working fine and simply stopped and I don't see how to correct what is wrong.

There is no specific function that turns FGL on or off.
When you say that it has stopped, do you mean that the handles no longer show?
If that is the case, then I think you may have modified the CSS to such an extent that Dreamweaver no longer recognises it as belonging to FGL.
There are a couple of avenues for you
Redo the site and make sure not to touch the FGL CSS
paste the code here so that we can see what has gone wrong.

  • Turning off "Snap to" feature in Illustrator?

Hi! I am creating vectorbased icons in Illustrator and have set up a document with size 16x16 pixels to get a good preview of the end result. My problem is that the anchorpoints snap to the edge of the document even though I have turned of all the 'snap to' options I can find in the View menu and the tranform flyout menu. I would be very thankful for some help to solve this.  /David

  • Samsung Kies 3 and Android-Sync download turned all program icons to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

I recently installed Samsung Kies 3 and Android-Sync on my laptop running Windows 7 Pro. As soon as the installtion was completed, all my program icons turned to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, which is one of the programs loaded on my computer, and all my programs tried to open with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, which of course failed. I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, and the problem cleared up. As soon as I tried to reinstall Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, the problem reappeared. I uninstalled Acrobat 9 and installed a trial version of Acrobat XI, and the same thing happened. Any ideas aso to how to correct this problem?

    Hi ptstoper,
I was not able to replicate the issue with Acrobat 11 and Android sync.
    Which OS are you using?

  • Can I turn off snapping to vertical and horizontal?

i need to make a line that's not quite horizontal, but when it try to use the ruler to make it, it always snaps to horizontal. This should be a feature that can be disabled, is it possible?

Unfortunately, the snapping behavior is not something that can be turned off in the current release. We have heard this feature request once or twice before, but I can't say when having an option to turn off snapping will make it into a future release.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro text box not printing and is hidden under box highlight.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.13.  I am completing a form with text box throughout the document. I can no get the text box to printing and the text is hidden under box highlight.  I have tried printing with the print feature 'Comments & Forms/ Document and Markups' with no luck.

It's doing that because you have field highlighting enabled. YOu can either turn it off or make the field read-only (if it's only used for display and not entry).

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 Won't Let me Save a Filled PDF Form

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 to fill out financial forms for my budget and finance department. The thing is, I can only print the form out when completed, but can't save it (I use "Save As" and rename the file).
When I do "Save As," the next time I pull up the form I see the data I inputted for a split second and then it is all erased automatically.
This is frustrating as I need the data to be available every time I open the form.
I am using Windows XP Professional on a Dell Optiplex 755 with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz with 1.96 GB RAM. Again, I am not using Reader, I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0.
    Thanks!

There is probably some JavaScript either as a document level script or page open action that is clearing the fields. If you edit your preferences you can turn off Acrobat's JavaScript, but this will also prevent calculations for running as they use JavaScript.
You could also export the the data as an FDF file and then import the data after the form is opened.
