Turn off stupid mail animations in mavericks

I need a way to turn off the animations in mail.app in Mavericks.  In previous operating systems, a terminal command existed to do this (defaults write com.apple.mail DisableReplyAnimations -bool TRUE , and I believe DisableSendAnimations as well), but that popular terminal command, along with no-glass and perhaps some others, seems to have been disabled in Mavericks.
Does another command exist?
If not, Apple, re-enable it.  These animations are horrendously stupid and a terrible design choice.

Are you referring to the new Notifications (in the upper right corner of your screen)?
If so, go to System Preferences > Notifications and drag Mail down to the "NOT in Notif. Center" Category. After that, make sure the window to the right has absolutely nothing checked:
That will stop it.

  • How Can I Turn OFF Junk Mail Filter for IMAP Accounts Only?

I am trying to figure out how to turn off the Junk Mail filtering for IMAP accounts such as .Mac/.ME and GMAIL. All filtering is working fine on the server side, and reviewing the mail that is tagged is easy enough by just going to the account and displaying the folders created on the server.
I've checked the Junk mail pref and although the Advance settings let you isolate specific accounts to check, it does not give you the option bypass checking an account.
    i.e.
if <Any> of the following conditions are met:
    <Account> <is not> <Gmail (IMAP)>
As is, the mail rules are working perfectly on the server side, but in Apple Mail, many mails are being sent the Apple Mail's Junk folder.
When going through the Gmail's instructions on setting up a Gmail account for Apple Mail, it specifically says to turn off Junk mail filtering for the account, but I can't find any options to do that.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA

I haven't tried this, but it should work:
    Make a new rule,
If <Any> <Account> is <Gmail> or <Account> is <.me> then "Stop evaluating rules".
Move this rule to the last in the list of rules.
In the Junk Mail preferences, be sure that "Filter junk mail before applying my rules" is unchecked.

  • Turn off e-mail checking?

Is there a way to turn off the e-mail checking on the BB?  I sit at my desk 90% of the time, right in front Outlook, so if an e-mail comes in I know it pretty quickly.  There is really no need for my BB to receive the e-mail as well unless I leave my office.  So, is there a way to turn off e-mail checking, then turn it back on when I leave my office (and shut down Outlook)?

Again, an imperfect suggestion, but I just open my sound profile and turn off email notifications while I'm at work.  Then back on again when I'm away from my computer.  Messages still get delivered but it doesn't ring.  To be honest, I always forget to turn the sound back on but I still seem to notice emails when I'm doing other things (phone calls, SMS, etc.).

Washing machines are a great way to find out it's time for a new phone.

  • Is there any way to turn off the "zooming" animation In IOS 7?

The continual zooming / animation that occurs every time I move in and out of an app, is incredibly tiresome after a while - especially when using multiple apps for business.  Is there anyway to turn this off?

No there is now way to turn off the screen animations, with the exception of the paralax effect (The moving background) which is what the Reduce Motion option is for.
If you really hate the effects, you need to submit your feedback via Apple's feedback page, http://www.apple.com/feedback
They don't really monitor these forums for this type of feedback.  There are a lot of threads that address this problem and some people have even reported becoming motion sick because of the zooming in and out effects.

  • How do I turn off automatic Mail forwarding?

A few years ago I set my me.com account so that it automatically forwarded all of my incoming mail to a mail server associated to my workplace that I regularly used. Now I want to turn off the automatic forwarding. But I cannot find any way to turn it off.

Go to www.icloud.com and choose Mail.
Click the action icon (little gear) select Preferences and choose the General tab.
You should see the forwards option there.

  • How to turn off smart mail account selection?

How do you turn off the extremely annoying smart mail account selection?

On the iCloud website, set up three Rules (click the cogwheel icon at top right and choose Rules) to move all messages addressed to [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] to the Trash. It will be deleted from there after 30 days.
You can't set up an automatic bounce, but in any case please, never bounce spam. Most spam has forged 'From' addresses so all you are doing is sending yet more spam to totally innocent people (who are probably already getting a lot of bounces because of this) and making a bad situation worse. Even if the 'From' address is genuine, I very much doubt any spammer is going to remove your address from a huge list  (they certainly would get a lot of bounces from actually dead addresses) - and in any case they can probably tell it's not a genuine bounce easily enough, so now you've just confirmed that your address works. Don't bounce it - just delete and forget.

  • Enough Already.... Turning off Eye Candy Animations

    Hi....
    I love this app...
Now that is out a the way...
It kills me to have to watch all those wild animations.... Fades etc... Every time I move the mouse from one window to another...
I would like to turn them off...
WHY on earth do we need to see a clip being disabled.... FADE OUT... Just set the opacity to ZERO instead of wasting processing power.
Moving the mouse from i.e. even lib. to timeline makes the timeline turn "fade in" like some 5$ flash website programmed by an amateur...
Does anyone REALLY wanna watch the inpected and color boards.. Slide on... Or would you prefer to just have them appear instantly ?
If anyone knows how to turn off all those eye candy animations I would love to know about it...

No... I can turn off skimming all I want, hitting i.e V to disable a clip makes it fade out to a state of gray instead of just being gray...
In the colorboard click on correction one's right-arrow to open the color correction tools.. It will slide on...
    all those effects...
They look nice... FIRST TIME you use FCPX -- then they become a horros

  • HT1430 Can not get email on Ipad latest version bought december 2012. Turned off . Turned back on, verified mail provider settings.turned off computer mail which works fine.dO i NEED TO DELETE ACCOUNT AND START NEW ONE . wILL i LOOSE PREVIOUS MAIL

CAN NOT GET MAIL. TURNED OFF IPAD . RESTARTED. VERIFIED PROVIDER SETTINGS. DOES NOT WORK. IF I CANCEL ACCOUNT AND OPEN NEW ONE WILL I LOOSE PREVIOUS MAIL.

I've removed my yahoo account several times. All it does is delete the info off my iPad and doesn't touch the account itself. So I can go back in, re-add the account and then redownload my mail again. I haven't had to change my passwords or anything.
You might look on sympatico's site, see if they have any troubleshooting specific to iPads.

  • Turn off e-mail notification but not other?

    Hi,
just bought the new Xperia Z3 Compact and I love the phone so far.
    I have one problem though:
I want to have different notification signals for different apps and I have found my way in the menys to fix that.
    BUT
for E-mail I do not want any notification signal at all, only the icon at the status bar.
I cannot find any setting within the e-mail app for notification, do I have to set the standard notification signal to none?
If so, will a new sms or calendar reminder notify me anyway?
I have tried this setting for a day now but it seems as if all notifications are turned off if the standard is set to none..?
    Help please.

Actually, we still have settings for notifications in the email app but it's a bit hidden. You need to go to Email -> [menu] -> Settings -> [your account]  and then tap the text "Notification" (don't tap the switch next to it).

  • Turn off e-mail notification for Find My iPhone

In iOS 8.0.2, how do you turn off the automatic e-mail notification you receive when someone tries to locate your device via Find My iPhone app?

This notification occurs every time you log into Find My iPhone on the iPhone if you log out of it before you use it again. Find My iPhone will automatically log out each time you leave it if you do not have a passcode on your device. If you have a passcode on the phone and the log into Find My iPhone, it will only notify you that time. It will remain logged into Find My iPhone and you will not receive another email unless you log in from another device. If you do a search of the forum, you will find a rather lengthy recent discussion about this same issue and may find additional answers to your question.

  • Cannot turn off incoming mail sounds

I am running 10.8.1 on a new retina macbook.
I have tried every preference panel I can find and nothing seems to be able to turn off the incoming mail sound.
I am getting what I think is the "Basso" sound whenever a new mail message comes in.
I went to Mail Preferences and picked New Messages Sound>None.
Then I unchecked Play sounds for other mail actions
Still get the basso sound when new mail comes in.
I even rebooted to see if that would fix it.  No luck.
Then I went and tried to change the sound to something else.  That didn't work either.  Stuck on basso!
Even checked Notifications Center and the Sound Preferences Panel.  No luck there either.
I don't want to turn off sound entirely, just stop incoming mail sounds.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
    thanks

Hi Mikibee...  Try this:  Mail / Preferences setting, from this window you will see (new message sound), set it to " none". Let me know if it worked for you.
                                                                                              Thanks.

Why did the swoosh sound turn off when I send and e-mail message in Mail?

First is your volume turned up and not muted?
Also check system preferences/sound/sound effects, make sure play sound effects thru internal speakers is checked, make sure alert volume is turned up (not all the way down), Play user sound effects id checked.

  • IPhone: Turning off UINavigationController back animation...

I am pushing some views into the nav controller stack with animation turned off. But the back button still performs the animation. Is there a way to turn that off using the default back button, or do I need to roll-my-own in this case and perform the pops in code.

Hi, I need to do the same thing. Did you ever find a good way to do this?

  • How to turn off iCloud Mail in my online account

My icloud.com, me.com and mac.com addresses get loads of junk mail so I want to stop using iCloud Mail. I've turned it off on my iMac. my iPad and my iPhone, but can't see a way to turn it off online so that any mail sent to it just goes into a black hole or, preferably, gets bounced back to the sender of junk.
    With thanks
