Turn off Unnecessary Animations iOS7

My god it takes me so long to navagate through my phone now.  Does anyone know of a way to turn off these fluffy animations???  I just want my phone to unlock, I don't care about watching the tiles fly in.  In addition is there anyway to change the folders back, what use is a folder if i have to wait for it to load through an animation and then scroll through pages of tiles.  Frustrated!

Finally put in 7.0.3 weeks after most of the rest of you had this discussion.
I swear, like a complete goon, I sat here for 10 minutes trying to swipe the icons for the apps, upward. Finally dawned on me to swipe the 'screen shot' of the app upward.
As I just posted on Facebook, I wonder how my 2012 Hyundai Elantra is going to get along with my iPhone 4S now that I've updated the OS. I'm guessing little or no difference, but that car is pretty stupid in doing some of the clever things it does.

  • Turn off transition animations?

Is there a way to turn off transition animations? Specifically for Preview!
The way Preview goes into fullscreen is super distracting and disorienting. (your entire desktop slides away while preview slides into the center moving in the opposite direction) The main problem for me is that it always lags and freezes midway through the transition, which convinces me that the transitions cause problems.
I'd like to get rid of all transitions, but mainly preview.

Try hitting Escape or just go to View –> Exit Full Screen. Don't think there's any solution for all programs, you probably have to do it for every individual program that cause the freezing.

  • Less time to turn off alarm in ios7?

Has anyone else using the stock alarm app noticed that the time you have to reach your phone and swipe it to turn it off has been drastically reduced with the ios7 update? After the update, my phone's screen goes black very quickly after the alarm goes off and I can never get to it in time to "swipe" the alarm off. I'll hit the power button thinking this has turned off the alarm, but it only snoozed it and it will go off again in 10 minutes. Because there is so little time to swipe to turn off the alarm, I have to turn on the phone, open alarms, and toggle my daily alarm off and on to ensure it is really off.
Just wanted to know if others were having this issue.

easy peasy, double tap the home button like you used to.  but instead of holding the icon just swipe the preview window away towards the top of your device

  • How to turn off window animations?

How do you turn off the window animations in Mountain Lion. It feels slow and I can't start typing or deleting things until the window is finished animated. For example when in adobe light room, when I hit the delete key to delete a photo I then have to wait until the animation stops before comfirming the delete. In Snow Leopard it was seamless, much faster and it kept track of what I had typed even if the window was not up yet. Thanks for any help

  • Turn off window animation

Firefox animates tab and window creations. For example, on OS X, a new window is animated to grow from the center of the screen.
Tab animation can be turned off by setting the "browser.tabs.animate" property to false. How can I do the same for windows?
    Thanks!
My setup: OS X 10.9.2 with Firefox 28

Thanks, you are right! I used the "secrets" app to disable the opening animation, now I'm happy :). Great answer.

  • I can no longer turn off programs after ios7 update

I just upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 and can  I longer turn off apps to conserve battery. (Double-tap home, touch & hold on the app to close and then touch the   X to close it). I just end up in the app I want to close. Has anyone else figured out how to do this?

Double tap home button>tiles pop up with all apps> slide them up to close

  • Mac Mail - How to turn off the animated "boxes"

Best place to put this question hopefully ? As they seem to have gotten rid of the dedicated "Mail" forum here.
In mail, how do you turn off them outlines/boxes that magically appear around a whole paragraph or number, etc.. when your mouse gets close ?
Its so annoying, and used to not do this. I am sure some people find this cute, useful and cool. I find it a nuisance since it messes me up when trying to copy and paste text here and there and structurally manipulate emails. My workflow just finds it "in the way" all the time and I never actually use what its purpose is. So I was hoping there was a way to turn it off so it doesn't do that.

Well you can always select 'plain text' from the format menu (or button in toolbar if installed) but of course you will lose formatting for the whole document.

  • Turning off Battery Percentage iOS7

Hi there, quick question. I'm trying to turn off the battery percentage but no matter what I do, it won't go away. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a fix to it?
Any and all suggestions welcome. Also, sorry if this is a common occurance but I did Google it before hand and found a little less than nothing (that was relevant, anyhow).
    Thanks again.
Not a clue if this matters but my phone was jailbroken up until I updated to the newest iOS.

My device is no longer jailbroken. It is counted as a regular, run of the mill iPhone. Yes, I've voided my warranty, should I ever have had one, but I'm still able to post about my iPhone as it's no longer jailbroken. I merely added in the fact that it used to be jailbroken incase it was relevant information.
Doesn't matter. Once your phone was jailbroken at any time it is pretty much jailbroken forever. Just because you restore it doesn't mean it wipes out all traces of the jailbreak.

  • How can I turn off the animated download arrow (on top-right of screen) in FF 20.0.1?

The new animated download arrow is extremely distracting & quite annoying (and I know I'm definately not the only one who thinks so). If there is no option to turn it off, I really hope you include that feature in the next update.

Hi Landstander, just to make it clear to all readers, setting browser.download.useToolkitUI to True switches from the new history-integrated downloads window back to the old separate-download-manager window.

  • Turn off mail animations & grey color variations

The bouncing messages are making me sea sick. How do I turn these off?
And headers. Would it be so hard to keep the From: and Subject: designagions. And just keep it one color. Why can't I see the Reply To: or the From in the same color? This is not cool, it's bloody inconvenient.
What Apple has repeated is the Coke Classic mistake. In an effort to win the portable devices market it is ******* off its desktop market.
It is very fast. That is lovely but the seemingly superficial changes are needlessly irritating and time consuming, and not superficial at all.

Are you referring to the new Notifications (in the upper right corner of your screen)?
If so, go to System Preferences > Notifications and drag Mail down to the "NOT in Notif. Center" Category. After that, make sure the window to the right has absolutely nothing checked:
    That will stop it.

  • Turn off animations in Mail

    Hi,
is there any way to turn off the animations when sending a mail in Mail?
    Any help is appreciated!

Your design and animations copy the gmail style. Why should i go with apple, if i like google. Than i probably will go with android. Your os6 mail design was more asketic but perfecly balanced.
Give option to return to os6, please.
I do not need another phone looking lije iphone.
Many people like me just do not have time and will to s.it in forums like this.
But there is no one that told me he likes os7 better than os6.
    Fairly.
    Thanks
    (Enough for today)

  • How can I turn off Mail's Compose and Reply animations in fullscreen?

Does anyone know how to turn off the animated opening of a "compose new mail" window when in fullscreen mode?
I'm using Mail 6.5 under Mountain Lion.  When I'm in fullscreen mode and I either compose a new email, or reply to an email, the new mail window springs up from the bottom of the screen in an animated way.  I would prefer it to just appear.
I was able to disable this animation when not in fullscreen mode by typing from a Terminal prompt:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableReplyAnimations -bool TRUE
However, I cannot find a way to disable it while I'm in fullscreen mode.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

The only gesture that is stand is the two finger tap the goes to mission control.  You can turn that off in System Preferences > mouse.
Also check the second column in System Preferences > Mission control > Show Desktop:
Set to "-" as a secondary click here could cause the issue.
