How to turn off voicemail iphone4s

That would be a function of your carrier. You will need to contact them to get it turned off.

Voicemail is a carrier feature, so contact your carrier, although I doubt they will disable voicemail for you.

  • ITunes match turned off on iPhone4s but still showing a "cloud" icon

I have signed up to iTunes Match and uploaded my entire music collection to the service.
I have turned this functionality off in my iPhone 4s so that all music that appears on this device, should be music that is physically stored on the device.
However, next to some albums/artists, a "cloud" icon is still showing.
My first question is, what does this icon mean?
Secondly, I cannot understand why this icon appears to some content and not others (see below).
Again, all my music I have matched or uploaded to the "cloud" via iTunes Match (Windows) but with Match turned off, the icon is still appearing for some reason and only next to some content not all.
Interestingly, no cloud icon whatsoever shows next to any individual song (under the "Songs" tab) regardless of what shows under "Albums" or "Artists" tabs:
I am at a complete loss.
I have turned iTunes Match on then off on the iPhone4s to try and correct the issue but no joy.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi Michael,
Though I've solved that particular problem there's still two issues with regard iTunes Match.
Number one, I'm genuinely worried about switching it on again on my iPhone. As soon as you enable it it threatens to 'replace' the music that is already on the phone and that to me is where things start to go wrong.
You're not the only person to be concerned by that alert dialog. As long as the songs that are already on your iPhone are in the cloud they will not actually be removed. They will remain on the iPhone.

Secondly, on my phone currently I have just 120 songs all of which 'exist' on the phone with 'Manually manage music and video's' AND 'Sync only checked songs and videos' as my iTunes set up under options...
With iTunes Match enabled on your iPhone, those settings no longer apply. Direct syncing of music via USB or Wi Fi is disabled and all music management will take place on the iPhone.

However, if you look at the attached screen shot the unticked songs are still appearing in the list but I have deleted these from the phone. These were the leftovers of my last iTunes Match download across a 3G network last week and won't disappear from the list even though they're unchecked.
What version of iOS is on your iPhone? This was a pretty serious bug in iOS 5.0.1, which was fixed in 5.1. But for some people, me included, it required restoring the iOS device to factory, then restoring the backup before the "ghost tracks" would go away.

  • I can't turn off voicemail divert

I'm going abroad next week and I don;t want to get stung again with Vmail charges.  Yesterday and today I've tried sending VM off to 150 and dialing 150 and going through the menus.  Each time I get greated with "Sorry there's a problem." Will this get fixed any time soon and if not how can I be sure I don't get charged for Vmail's while I'm abroad? Thanks

Try 'Voicemail Divert Off' to 150. You should receive a message along the lines of 'Your request to turn off conditional divers has been successful' If not you can disable it by calling Customer Services.

  • Anyway to turn off voicemail envelope for secondary line appearance?

Has there been an update to this issue yet? Ive noticed in a couple of other older threads that this "feature" cannot be turned off.

OK, here is how I would set it up:  Saw you have one extension on 3 phones, extension 1000, for example. You take 1000 off all three phones and you give each phone a unique DN, say 1001, 1002, and 1003.  You can even modify the line labels so they still appear as 1000.  Then you setup 1000 as a hunt group pilot, setup with broadcast hunting and 1001, 1002, and 1003 as members.  And the RONA goes to voicemail box 1000, which has 1001 (and 1002 and 1003, if you want them to be able to retreive VM even through they get no notification) as an alternate extension.  And 1001 is listed as the MWI extension.
What they lose is the 'shared line' features; they can no longer see if someone else is on the line and they cannot hold a call from one phone and pick it up on another.  But it still rings on all phones, can be answered on all phones, and only the one(s) you want get the envelop.

  • HT2458 How do you turn off voicemail passcode

Without a reset, my iPhone is asking for a passcode to retrieve messages. I tried to input my phone number but it didn't work,
Is there a way to turn off the passcode Or any other suggestions

Which carrier do you have? Once you have entered the passcode for your Visual Voicemail, it should not prompt you for it again. You cannot turn off the passcode, but as I said, once it is entered, it should remain and not prompt you for it again. I have a help document for AT&T, but that is all.

  • Unity - How do I turn off voicemail message "your mailbox is almost full"?

We recently set a mailbox limit on our exchange server. Some users are over the limit until they deuce their mailbox size. When they check their messages via the 7940 "messages" button, they get the message "Your mailbox is almost full?etc" before it will playback their messages. Once they get their mailbox under 90% of the limit the messages will go away. My question is how do I turn off the message? I realize the message is a "good thing", but even if it's a system (all off) setting, please post. I did find how keep outside users that are calling in from hearing that they can't leave a message because the person they're trying to contact has a full mailbox, so that's not what I'm looking for. I?m just trying to find out how to keep the user with the new limit from hearing that every time.
    We are running Unity 4.2(1)

You can disable this in the registry. This is not a Cisco documented or recommended option. I have done it for customers who were really adament about the notifications.
Here are the steps to do on your Unity server. Again I want to stress I'm not sure if this is Cisco supported but it's a simple change that requires no reboot.
    1. Backup your windows registry
    2. Open regedit
    3. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Active Voice\MalEx\1.0
    4. Open the REG_DWORD DisableStatusCheck
    5. Change the value from 0 to 1
This should take effect right away. This is a universal system all off for the Unity server only. Exchange is not effected.

No, other than flipping the ring/silent switch on the side of the phone to silent (red showing).  You have to remember to flip it back to hear rings and alerts.

  • Turning off cell

im travelling overseas and don't want to incur any roaming or cell charges. I wil have access to wifi at my hotel but I can't figure out how to turn the cell off and only use wifi for email. How do I know the phone isn't accessing the cell vs wifi?

I, too, am about to travel abroad. Talking with AT&T customer service to the 2nd level of supervisor, they maintained that EVEN with airplane mode on, they know where your phone is, and will charge you international roaming rates if any call comes in and goes to voicemail. They claimed that they cannot turn off voicemail, and that unless you buy their international data plan, you're at risk of high charges.
I just talked with Apple Tech, and they double checked and say that, in airplane mode, the cell radio is OFF. Completely off. If that's true, then AT&T cannot know where the iPhone is, and would just record 'visual voicemail' as if you were at home (last place it saw the phone).
If you then turn on WiFi at Starbucks abroad, you should be able to retrieve voicemail at no charge. Plus, I can use the iPhone as an iTouch so I can watch videos, podcasts, etc. while traveling. I have no need of international data/phone calling other than WiFi based.
Anyone know for a fact if this is true? I'm about to test it, and would rather not come home to a big bill. I think AT&T is not being very nice about this subject.
