Turn stacks into links?

Hey =)
Is it possible to change these stacks:

into links so when I click on them, instead of the stack poping up, it would actually open in a finder window?

if you command+click on a stack it will open in a finder window. or you can put an alias to a folder instead of the folder itself on the dock and that will always open as a finder window with a single click.

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.

I am back in Mavericks and testing Pages 5.2.
There are improvements, we shall see how useful, but in less than a minute I have already discovered bugs.

When I define a variable in BO it automatically turns it into a detail

i have made a user prompt in my report
so the user can input a value that does not exist in universe so i can use it as condition or a filter,
i have done this by using the followiing condition in the query
object = object
or
object = ToPrompt("Give number")
As you can see by the logic this condition will ALWAYS be true because object = object is always true. So this logic will not impact the rest of the query it will just allow to enter any value in the user prompt
in the report when i try to create a new variable
=ToNumber(UserResponse ("Query 1 with NEW_UNIV" , "Give number"))
it automatically turns it into a detail and i cant change it to measure or dimension.
is there a way to fix this

How do I convert a Track Stack into a Take Folder in Logic Pro X?
I mistakenly took 13 takes and put it in a Track Stack instead of a Take Folder. I'm afraid to lose the takes and I'm wondering how to convert this into a Take Folder so I can do a comp?

Here is what you do:
Create a new Track and record something in Cycle Mode (Take Folder Record Mode enabled if you record MIDI) so it creates a Take Folder
Now select all the 13 Regions across the 13 Tracks and drag them onto the Take Folder.
The Regions have to be in the time range of the Take Folder (overlap at least one bar)
All the 13 Regions are now merged into a individual Regions of the Take Folder

In order to turn a tet into Hyperlink, you first need to select the text and then in the toolbar look for "Links" option. Click on the dropdown and either select one of the pages or type in your own link.

Turning JAR into Linux or Macintosh Program

Hello,
I've seen a variety of options available for turning JAR files into windows executables, but is there anything available for turning them into a Linux or Macintosh program? We would like to turn our JAR files into such things to protect them a little better from reverse engineering (even though this is a lofty goal that is likely impossible) but it is important to us to maintain cross-platform compatability. Since there are so many tools available for windows, I am led to believe that someone out there must have done something similar for other operating systems. Anyone have any links or know of any software that would be good for this?

In the Linux side: I've never used the Java GNU compiler (gcj), but it deserves a try. It can be used to compile Java programs and transform them into true executables.
Beware - I believe that gcj can't be used to compile Swing or AWT programs (maybe neither SWT programs...), but check the gcj documentation.

To resolve your difficulties you will need to go to the Language & Text preference pane. Once there click on Edit List and remove all languages besides English. You will then likely need to remove and reinstall the trial as the language setting I believe is set during the installation process.

That's because you scanned them as B/W photos and iPhoto 08 doesn't support the grayscale color profile. You can either rescan them as color photos or export them as originals out of iPhoto to a folder on the desktop and applhy this Automator application, Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB Profile, on them and then remimport into iPhoto. You can download it from Toad's Cellar . Be sure to read the warning on the website about not applying it on your only copies.

Greetings from a Photoshop Newbie. I need a computer, preferably a Mac laptop, with some serious processing power. I take photos with a Pentax 645Z; files are 50MB raw. I upload from Adobe Bridge and manipulate the photo, sometimes turning them into files in excess of 250MB. I cannot resize as the large files are needed for enlargements. Have all sorts of problems trying to manipulate, add effects and saving most large files. I need some serious processing power. Can anyone suggest what Mac i should purchase? I thank you in advance for your help :-)

It sounds as if you're having some system-related problems now, unrelated to processing power as such. In particular, a buggy video driver can cause everything to slow to a crawl.
Medium format files are big, true, but not so big as to cause significant slowdowns on a normally functioning and reasonably current computer. A laptop will always be slower than a well-equipped desktop system, though. Mac vs PC plays no part in this, performance is unrelated to platform.
Bottlenecks are different in ACR and Photoshop, so that should give you a clue. ACR is computing-intensive and mostly limited by CPU speed. Photoshop, however, is mostly bandwidth-intensive and mainly limited by memory and disk throughput. It's also sensitive to GPU issues.

If I select the text layer and click the text style button in the library it just creates a new text style for Myriad Pro 12pt - I'm not using that anywhere in my document.
Can anyone help? Seems like a bug to me as I'm trying what the video tutorials are saying.

Do you realize it is an object-based vector-based program? Do you know the difference between raster-based and vector-based content?
My question seems to be all over the forum but no one has been able to answer other than exporting to these file formats, which make text look awful and of no use....
And yet everyone else in the world makes proper web images every day using a plethora of programs, including these...go figure.

Hello, cocteau! What you're calling "transparency" is inherent to object-based vector artwork. But web browsers don't support object-based vector artwork, except via file formats like Flash and SVG, or by viewing as a PDF in a plug-in version of Reader. Raster imaging in general only supports "transparency" by either indexing a specific color (i.e.; "don't display this color", as in GIF) or including an alpha channel (i.e.; "blend all the pixels with existing pixels, based on values from this extra channel", as in PNG). It's all in the raster file format you use, cocteau; it has little-to-nothing to do specifically with Adobe software. Such things are among the most basic matters understood by someone doing web design.
When I export an eps from .ai file, and open the eps in photoshop,...I save as a gif for the web, it goes back to the original problem...creates jagged text. I"m giving up on this garbage...Thanks a lot adobe! Lower the price of this software if this is all that can be done.
Once it leaves Photoshop (or Illustrator, or whatever) as a non-proprietary raster image format, it's all about what the format can do re "transparency". You can do this stuff with most any graphics program. You should read about basic web design and the differences between raster and vector content, rather than rant.

Make photo grid objects into links?

I would like to make the photos and captions in the photo grid into links. When I select a photo or a caption in the photo grid, the link inspector is grayed out and I can not click "enable hyperlink". Every thing works fine for images and text not in the photo grid. Is it possible to do this?

That is the way photo page works, photo grid thumbnails can not be hyperlinked because they are rendered by javascript widget. But you can put a full URL in thumbnail caption and it is hyperlink as discussed in this thread:

However, when you click on the thumbnail to go to detail view, the caption is no longer a hyperlink; because caption in detail view is rendered by javascript widget.
That said, what you like to do is very possible but you need to have very good understanding how photo page widgets work and a lot of javascript. Here is one of my example:
