Turned Firewall on and now can't print wirelessly

I have 2 new macbook pros. Have been printing wirelessly fine. Decided to turn firewall on and now neither will print wirelessly. Turned firewall off and rebooted. FInally, after several tries of deleting and adding the printer, I finally got it added back. However, when I try and print here is the error message it get:
Error: /Library/Printers/Konica_Minolta?mc2450DL/rastertokm2430dl.app/
Contents/MacOs/rastertokm2430dlfailed
What the heck? Just by turning the firewall on and off I get this mess? HElp???

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.

  • Upgraded to Yosemite and now can't print wirelessly

Upgraded my 1yr old Mac Pro to Yosemite and now can't print wirelessly to my Epson XP-405 through my wireless home hub! I've tried re-installing new printer drivers etc, throwing away preferences etc... these sometimes work for a single print then goes back to "Printer can't be found". My older iMac doesn't seem to have this problem (yet - fingers crossed!) and prints ok on exactly the same wireless network.
    Any suggestions gratefully received.

  • I've updated Time Capsule firmware and now can't print wirelessly

I have recently updated my Time Capsule to Firmware 7.6.2 and now my computer no longer sees my Brother MFC9320-CW either wirelessly or via ethernet.  I am able to hook the printer up to the Time Capsule's USB port and print in that way.
The printer does not retrive a DHCP address either wired or wirelessly, and when I set it staticly, it still does not respond to a ping.  I hope I'm barking up the right tree here, as the firmware update on the time capsule is the only thing I can think of (aside from a network card failure on the printer, which its diagnostics insist is not the case) that is causing this.
My next step will be to set up a test WiFi network with a third-party router to remove the printer (network card failure option) from the equation.

To Downgrade Your Time Capsule Firmware:
Open Airport Utility: Applications → Utilities → Airport Utility
Find your device in the left-hand column and select the “Manual Setup” button
In the “Summary” window that pops up click on the word “Version”
In the pop up box that comes up next to the “Upload Version” select the previous version
    Click “OK”
Your Time Capsule will restart and be as good as new!

I upgraded to Lion and now can't print PDF files and Acrobat reader doesn't work anymore. What can I do to get it working?

If you upgraded and were using a version of Acrobat Reader that was legacy, that is PPC compatible, then you will have to upgrade to a version compatible with Lion as Lion no longer has Rosetta to interface with the legacy software.
I know that Acrobat, full version, 10 works with Lion...use it myself.

  • I have a Lexmark s405 printer and I've just updated the firmware and still can't print wirelessly from my iPad. Why?

I have a Lexmark s405 printer and I've just updated the firmware and still can't print wirelessly from my iPad. Why?

That model doesn't appear to support AirPrint (those that do are listed on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356)
Have you checked to see if Lexmark have their own app in the store, or there are third-party apps such as Print Central For iPad and Print n Share which might work with it

  • Changed printers, now can't print wireless from laptop

Hi. I changed to a HP printer from an Epson. Now I can't print wirelessly from my laptop through my Airport Express. I get a message that the printer is offline.
Went to the HP site & got latest drivers. And there was an Apple update for the HP. I can print when the laptop is connected to the printer by the USB cable.
When I first set up the AP Express 2 years ago, I was able to print wirelessly without any problems.
    any ideas?
    Thanks

Got it fixed. Went to the HP site again & they had info for OS10.5 that worked.

  • Updated iPad to iOS 7 and now can't print to printer?

iPad connected with printer prior to updating to iOS 7, now can't find it.  Turned printer on/off, moved closer to printer and tried again.  Help!?!

    Hey KTonn,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with AirPrint. The following article provides relevant troubleshooting steps:
    AirPrint Basics
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
If you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found"
    Verify that the printer:
    1. Has power and is turned on. If it has power, turn the printer off and then on again to see if that resolves the issue.
    2. Is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device.
    3. Has the latest firmware version installed.
    4. Has paper with enough ink or toner installed.
    5. Is free of any errors displayed on the printer's control panel.
If necessary, consult the printer documentation or contact the printer vendor for help with the above steps.
    Notes:
    - AirPrint printers connected to the USB port of the Apple AirPort Base Station or Time Capsules are not supported with AirPrint.
    - Some Wi-Fi AirPrint printers can take several minutes to join a Wi-Fi network after being turned on. Ensure that the AirPrint printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network before attempting to print.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I set up time capsule and now can't connect wirelessly

I got home with my new Apple and Time Capsule last Friday and was unable to connect to the net. I called Cox cable and they came out and got me up and running. The yellow light on the Tine Capsule kept blinking but I was able to connect and thought it was just a glitch.
Today I added a printer and, after a few headaches, got it up and running. Then I tried to set up the automatic backup process and thought I was OK. Now, however I can't connect wirelessly at all. I keep getting the message "None of your preferred networks are available." I have a neighbor with a wireless network and it sees that, so something is going on. I also am able to connect directly to my modem and get connected. The yellow light is still blinking!
I have tried re-starting the computer, turning off both the modem and Time Capsule, but nothing works. I am beginning to think I have a defective Time Capsule but the store I got it from is two hours away, so if anyone can offer a suggestion, I would be most grateful.

I just went through the same deal. I'm not exactly sure how I did it, but I eventually got it to work, and even have Back to My Mac in play. For the next ten minutes, anyway.
So here's the deal. These are some of the things I did that you might try.
First, there is a big issue regarding how you presently connect to the internet - DSL modem? Cable modem? A dixie cup and a piece of thread? Time Capsule is both a router and a wireless base station, so whatver you're using now might be performing router duty as well, and screwing things up. I replaced my AT&T 2Wire device (modem, router, and wireless base station in one box) with a DSL modem. Oh, and when I was prompted, I assigned the public IP address for my broadband connection (the one that begins with 70.xxx.xxx.xxx) to the TIme Capsule, instead of having Time Capsule get one of those 192.xxx.x.xxx or 10.x.x.x IP addresses from DHCP.
The modem has to operate in "bridge mode." Whatever the heck that means.
Also, in configuring time capsule, I initially used an ethernet cable attached to a computer (in this case, my MacBook Pro). It seemed easier to get it going that way, and once it had managed to connect, it made it easier to get on just using the wireless connection.
When you're prompted, you want to create a new network, although it might be helpful to take it one step at a time and keep your present network up and running and let Time Capsule join that deploying - initially - just the wireless backup capability.
Oh, and regarding restarting all the hardware, I did that too. But with Time Capsule, if you're not already doing it, you should not just restart the device, but do a reset. On the back of the device if you look carefully toward the right you will see a little pinhole. Get a paper clip and depress the little button inside that little pinhole until the front light begins to blink rapidly. That resets Time Capsule and was the only way I could get the thing to bite at the beginning.
So much for Mac's just working. Although once they do . . . .

  • Changed SSID, Now can't print wirelessly

I hope someone here with more tech savvy than me can assist with this issue.  I use a Macbook Pro 17" with an Apple Time Machine as a router for my wireless network.  My SSID for the network used to have an apostrophe in it, and when I recently installed a new wireless network camera, it would not allow me to use an SSID with special characters like apostrophes.  I went into my Network Preferences and removed the apostrophe.  My other networked peripherals (fax machine and iPads) had no problem with the change, and are working fine wirelessly.  My laser printer is still not recognized on the network and won't show up on my list of printers in system preferences unless I have it hardwired with USB to the computer.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled printer drivers, restarted the Time Capsule, reset the printer back to factory defaults, read the manuals online, and I am out of ideas.  Can someone tell me how to make my print/scan control panel recognize my printer without being attached by USB, and let me print wirelessly?
The printer is a Brother HL-5370DW, and I am running Mac OS 10.7 (Lion).  I downloaded the current driver for 10.7 from the Brother website and installed it.
    I appreciate any help offered!
    Linda

  • Insalled 10.4.4 and now can't print

I had two printers installed on my PowerMac G5, a Samsung ML-1740 and an HP 2600 Photosmart. After I installed 10.4.4 today when I attempted to print to either they would just hang.
I finally reset my printing system and reinstalled drivers for both printers. Print Utility doesn't find either driver so I can't add them!
Please help me restore my printing capability!
    Thanks,
    --Steve Bayle

Finally resolved this issue via Ken and Nick at Applecare. The printer driver that 10.4.4 was looking for on the HP6800 series deskjet was 2.7.1 - what was installed was 2.6 so once we went out and updated that - everything's Archie
This was my first experience with AppleCare and it was a decent experience. The first tier support (Ken) was very thorough in eliminating the obvious. It did take awhile which included going back to the install disk and doing a repair disk process.
Once Ken eliminated the obvious and simple he brought in a product specialist (Nick) who returned me to the install disk and determined that the specified driver should be 2.7.1 not 2.6
He took me thru the steps to get that driver added and the printer was now operational.
Did I say I was happy? I also have the case number in case it jumps the track again so that we don't have to start at the very beginning.
Hope this info helps someone else along the way . . . .

  • Hello, i opened an email with photo attachment, it is still trying to download and has blocked my ipad2. I foolishly turned it off and now can`t turn it on as it just shows the spinning circle icon 0 help- novice user here

Help< I opened an email with photo attachements and it is taking all day to download, I cant delete it,  it just stops mail from working. Everything else was fine till i thought turning off the ipad and trying again would work. It didn`t, I cant turn it on at all - itjust shows the spinning wheel (loading?) icon and nothing else. Being a novice and ive only had this for a couple of weeks i need help!

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Updated to 10.8.2 and can't print wirelessly

I recently installed 10.8.2 on my MacBook Pro and now can not print wirelessly to my Lexmark 544dn.  Tried installing "new" drivers, rebooting router, resetting printer system,etc... No luck.  Prints fine wirelessly from Windows 7 Partition (Bootcamp) and prints fine from USB connection.
Any suggestions?  Apple tech support says I now have to buy an AirPort router to get support?

rebooted 3x at various stages - makes no difference...
Just to be safe, just did it again - no luck...
