Turned off Genius, how do I restore Genius playlists from ipod to my iTunes
Hi,
I turned off Genius in iTunes by accident and my Genius playlists have been deleted. They are still on my iPod. I'd like to know if they will automatically sync back to iTunes when I connect my iPod or have I lost them for good?
Many thanks

For other music you need a thrid-party program like one of those discussed here:

how do i transfer my playlist from my ipad to itunes on my windows 7 PC?
Hey there,
There are several ways to pull music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The only downfall is that some methods or third party applications will not transfer over playlists, playcounts, or ratings. There is a very direct method, which I personally prefer, but there are also previously mentioned third party applications, which will help you accomplish the task as well. The link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method as well as a few third party applications if you choose to go that route instead.

Cracked ipod touch screen and it won't let me in or turn off. Tried to back it up and put on new ipod touch 5 and now it's not working and doing the same thing. I tried to restore to orginal but it won't let me any suggestions?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
When the above says to restore via iTunes, restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup -

How do i restore a playlist from my ipod to itunes?
Recently i uprgaded to a new computer and once i downloaded iTunes i noticed that my play list were missing. My play lists are both on my iPhone and iPod. How would restore it from one of my devices back to iTunes?
I posted a similar question a few days ago, although i also wanted to transfer the music in the playlists. I was led to various other applications that will do this: Senuti, iLinkPod, iGadget & iRip, which are all available as free downloads. I've been trying to establish which is best and so far noone has been able to advise me. So I have downloaded Senuti, iLinkPod & iRip to check them out and so far Senuti seems to be the best as it has an iTunes-like interface and allows the transfer of music already arranged in the form of a playlist. Only drawback is that you have to do it one playlist at a time (as far as I can see so far) which is slow, but at least it can be done. If you dont want to duplicate the music in the playlist because it's already in your music library, you can always delete it from iTunes afterwards by selecting the iTunes Music Library on the left of the iTunes window, going to View Menu, select Show Duplicates - then you can select and delete as necessary whilst the playlists you have transferred should remain. It's laborious i know, but i have yet to discover a better way! Hope this helps.. Francis

I don't know what's up with the translation window thing appearing. Anyway...
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991 -

How can I restore my playlists from a TM backup?
Solved: They were masked!
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12799539Hi Joe,
Just right-click on the iPhone(on the left side of iTunes, under Devices) and then choose Restore from Backup. Then choose the backup that has the date and name of your previous phone.

Computer crashed- all new now. How to bring library and playlists from Ipod
My PC crashed and was pronounced DOA. All library and playlists were and still are on Ipod Classic (20GB). Obviously wasn't able to follow directions for normal transfer of lib. and p.lists as event not planned. Built completely new PC and loaded up Itunes. I had all my music library backed up on an external and can load, but is there any way I can save my 50 meticulously created playlists back into Itunes? Please say "Yes"!
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists. -

After reformatting my HD and reimporting all songs back into iTunes succesfully, the playlist folders are gone and I don't want to rebuild them from scratch. How do I restore playlists from iPod classic to iTunes 11.1.3 without resorting to 3rd party options?
I actually tried that in "my computer" by renaming the drive and then got this:
g-raid (F:) (H:)
then after reading your reply realized I should try renaming it in "disk management" and hey! it worked.
Thanks a lot for the advice.
Now I don't understand why my back-up drive isn't automatically adding the files when I import into the Ex-HD but I'll figuree it out.
