Turning HTML image into PNG

Hi,
I don't think this will work but before I give up entirely I decided that I should ask people who would know more than me. I created a HTML image through work's photoshop cs4 to be uploaded onto our Linkedin pages' hero image. However, LinkedIn does not support html images but it does support png. Is there a way that I can convert the html file into png and still make it clickable?
I hope this makes sense
Thanks,
Nash

Helios,
The way I (mis)understand it, you may:
1) Create a rounded rectangle/square, or a rectangle/square and apply the rounding as an effect, that has the desired outer shape, placed on top of the image;
2) Select both and Object>Clipping Mask>Make.

  • How do I turn an image into a transparency?

    Hi,
    There's a question I've seen asked dozens or hundreds of times, and I thought I found an answer a few years ago. I've since forgotten how to do it:
    Turn an image into a transparency.
    Now, the obvious solution is to set the layer to "multiply." Yes, this is the effect I want. However, I want the layer to be transparent instead.
    Another solution is to draw an image on a transparent layer. This works great, but only applies if I create the image from scratch. I want to convert an existing image.
    Another solution is multiple steps:
    1) Copy image
    2) Click "edit in quick mask mode."
    3) Paste image
    4) Exit quick mask mode.
    5) Invert selection.
    6) Ctrl+backspace to fill selection with black, on a blank transparent layer.
    Result? The image is now transparent! However, this converts the image to greyscale! Great for linework and text, terrible for photos or art!
    In an older version of Photoshop 7, I believe I got the following to work:
    A) Follow the previous steps 1-6, creating a layer with transparency
    B) Copy the original picture to a layer above the transparency
    C) Group the layer with the transparency layer below. (Note, grouping doesn't work the same any more.)
    D) The top layer provides the colors, but the bottom layer provides the transparency.
    E) It is too light, so you take the top layer, and maximize "saturation" 100%.
    F) Merge the two layers. It retains the transparency of the bottom layer, with the hue of the top layer.
    This no longer works, because I don't know how grouping layers works anymore.
    So, I need white pixels to be transparent. Black pixels to have zero transparency. Red pixels to have zero transparency. Etc.
    Meanwhile, grey pixels are solid black, but partly transparent. Pink pixels are solid red, but partly transparent.
    All pixels are 100% saturated, and the "lightness" is determined by how transparent they are.
    So, an analogy would be printing a photo on a transparency. I need to convert an image to a transparency.
    If the image/layer were overlaid on white, it would look exactly like the original photo.
    Does anyone know how to accomplish this? Mathematically, it's easy. But I don't know about any filter, process, or method to make the conversion using CS5.
    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hello!
    I hope that I understand what you need.
    (One could just put the image on a layer, and lower its opacity, but you seem to be looking for an effect in wich the tranparency is not the same for all pixels.)
    Try this:
    1) Turn your image image as a layer (double-click it if it is a background layer) [In order to add a mask]
    2) Select all, Copy (CTRL+a, CTRL+C)
    3) add a layer mask (click the rectangle with a circle in the bottom of the layers panel) [to be able to change transparency]
    4) target the mask [so that you can past an image in it] ALT+click the mask, paste the image.
    5) Invert the colors of the mask (CTRL+I) [in order for the white to be transparent and the black opaque].
    You now have a layer whose transparency is based on the lightness of the pixels.
    Hope that's what you are after!

  • How do I stop iWeb turning my .jpgs into PNG's ??

    Hi
    No one on a PC can print out my iWeb pages because when I drag a pic into iWeb it auto makes it a PNG. (unreadable from some PC's) How can I stop this from happening so that people can print ok from my site?
    Thank you
    Jim Rhodes
    http://web.mac.com/jimpsky/iWeb/Craiganor/Craiganor.html

    Thnx Mark
    I figured iWeb might be doing this and it seems impossible to fix. Here, as always I optimize all my pics in PS for the web as jpg,s. I've noticed iWeb actually makes some of my pics bigger! after optimizing if I resize the pic in iWeb. It shouldn't do this anti optimization.
    I have another site on a different .mac account that, after growing past a point, now converts all the text to jpg so no text can be copied. http://web.mac.com/hueynrolf/iWeb/BWA/Home.html
    but still here no PNG file conversions.
    The "Craiganor" site in question, was added to an existing iWeb project (Domain) ;
    http://www.rospalmerinteriors.com/RosPalmerInteriors/news.html
    Rospalmerinteriors, published to a .com and mirror on .mac, works well. With a little tweaking i managed to prevent it from converting text to jpeg and no auto jpg to PNG conversions. The Craiganor site does convert the jpgs to PNG!
    1. Is this occurring because Craiganor is the second site ? I suspect so.
    2. Will rebuilding the site (would rather not) in its own iWeb Domain Solve this?
    2. If so and I rebuild the site with it's own Domain, separately publishing Rospalmerinteriors and Craiganor to the same .mac, will I encounter functionality problems with the .mac specific aspect ?
    Many thanks

  • Embedding HTML images into output

    Hi. My report produces html output that includes images. Later this html code is being send to Microsoft Exchange so end user can actually see the report in his mail box. But for this I need to make images not a reference to a file on the file system, but embed as part of HTML .
    How can I do it?
    Is it something that can be done programatically with Java

  • Turning still images into a video-help please!

    Hello, I have Adobe Premiere Elements 10 editing system, and I am currently working a summer project. One of the things I would like to do is create a video from still images, but I am having a problem, because the images I chose and increased their time line look too choppy, but I want a more flow-ey look. What should the speed or duration be for each picture? Are there other effects that can assist the making of my still picture video? Also, I am up for any other suggestions others have on making a smooth, still image video. Thanks!

    Neweditor16
    I was not sure of my schedule for later this evening so I am going to post a sample scenario, assuming that you have Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 7 64 bit.
    1. Place your 10 each at 3680 x 2760 4:3 pixels photos in sequence order in a desktop folder. Do not bother to resize them beforehand ONLY if your Windows 7 is 64 bit and not 32 bit and your installed RAM exceeds 4 GB.
    2. Open Premiere Elements 10 and set the project preset for
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p30 @ 29.97
    3. Go to Edit Menu/Preferences/General and remove the check mark next to the option "Default Scale to Frame Size".
    4. Next, use Get Media/Files and Folder to bring your desktop folder into the Organize/Media area. From there drag the whole unopened folder to the start of Timeline Video Track 1. When you do, your 10 photos will be on the Timeline in the order that you placed them in the folder.
    5. Click on Photo 1 to select it. Then go to Properties Palette/Motion Panel expanded and the Scale property. Set the Scale at 52.6%.
    6. Go back to the Timeline and click on Photo 1 to select it. Go to Edit Menu, select Copy. Then select the other 9 photos (all at one time), right
    click anywhere in the selection, and select and click on Paste Attributes.
    7. To give a Timelapse effect to your 10 photos, you are going to decrease the duration of each photo. You do not want to be dealing in seconds, rather frames (1 to 5 frames which is 0.033 to 0.165 seconds in a 30 frames per second set up).
    a. first we look at the effect with the photo duration of 5 frames...select all 10 photos all at one time....right click anywhere in the selection and select Timeline Stretch. In the Time Stretch dialog change duration from 00;00;05;00 (5 seconds) to 00;00;00;05 (5 frames equivalent to 0.165 seconds)...note the Timelapse effect that is achieved after you render the Timeline content by pressing the Enter key to get the best possible preview of the Timeline content played back in the Edit area monitor.
    b. If you are not satisfied with "a", the repeat, but this time change the duration of all to 00;00;00;03 (3 frames equivalent to 0.150 seconds)...note the Timelapse
    effect that is achieved after you render the Timeline by pressing the Enter key to get the best possible preview.
    c. If you are not satisfied with "b", then repeat, but this time change to the lower possible set 00;00;00;01 (1 frame equivalent to 0.033 seconds)..note the Timelapse effect achieved after you render the Timeline by pressing the Enter key ot get the best possible preview.
    See what that looks like. At this time, I would not bother with transitions. More than one transition placement at a time can be done by selecting all the photos and using Timeline Menu/Apply Default Transition. But, with such short duration photos, I would need to think about changing the transition default duration.
    And, I see no point in pans and zooms with the short duration that are used.
    These are some basic ideas about Timelapse in Premiere Elements.

    Notes: To select more than one clip at a time, you can hold down the Shift key and click each photo. Or, you can use the mouse cursor tip to draw a rectangle around the photos to select them.
    Please let us know if any of this needs clarification.
    Thank you.

  • Convert PSD files into PNG on exporting PDF

    Is there a way to convert all PSDs used in InDesign into PNGs during exporting file as PDF?

    After exporting the PDF I convert that into online format. But there is an issue with the images that has been added as PSD, all such images lose their colors after conversion. So I need to convert this images into PNG before exporting the PDF.
    I hope this is clear. Do you know a way to do this?

  • Inserting an image into a smart shape

    I have a glossary widget in my course and I have a toggle button I am using for the learner to access the glossary.
    For now I just have a smart shape as a place holder but I'd like to use an existing image I have for the glossary button.
    When I insert a button I can't get it to play for 'rest of project'.
    Any suggestions?
    I am using Captivate 8.
    Thanks.

    Maybe this can help you: Turn an Image into a Button - Captivate blog
    Only shape buttons can be timed for the rest of the project, or you can put them on a master slide. Maybe that is even a better solution for a glossary widget. As  for toggle buttons:

  • Can I insert an html file as an image into an HTML page?

    The site I'm working on (www.ngospen.com) has PNGs for background art - 10 - 15 kb per image. As the site is intended for settings with low bandwidth, I'd like these background images to be as small as possible.
    When saving for the web, one of the options is Save As HTML file. When I open the file, the artwork appears the same as the PNG (no lost resolution), but it is a much smaller file size (1 - 2 KB).
    Is it possible to insert these HTML files into my HTML pages?
    Thanks!

    Are you meaning that you work with fireworks?
    If so the html and the images you export are flattened images (slices), you have to put those images directly into your html page.
    If you want to save the file (fireworks) as a flattened image you could also goto save as -> flattened png.
    If you save your image from fireworks just as png it contains the layer information etc. etc. from fireworks, that's why you should save them as flattened png, or just export the slices.

  • How to convert 24bits png image into 8 bits image

    Hi,
    I have gone through some of threads in this forum on changing color bits. But, I still can find right way to change my image (24bits) into different color bits(8 bits). The reason i want to change the color bits because I am getting a GIF image from map server, convert it into PNG format then rescale then into size of mobile phone screen.The PNG image is really has large data length , so the it took a while to load the whole image on screen.
    Note : The following code is taken from few threads in this forum and i have modified it to suit my application.
    I have no idea about Java2d...any help really appreciated...Thanks in advance!!!
    My code is as follow:-
    public File Scale(int width, int height, BufferedImage ImgSrc)
         try
                   //BufferedImage bi = ImageIO.read(ImgSrc);
                   //int w = bi.getWidth(), h = bi.getHeight();
         //Image oldRescale = bi.getScaledInstance(i, j, Image.SCALE_SMOOTH);
         BufferedImage Rescale = rescale(ImgSrc, width, height);
                   //ColorSpace cs = ColorSpace.getInstance(ColorSpace.CS_GRAY);
                   //ColorConvertOp op = new ColorConvertOp(cs, null);
                   //Rescale = op.filter(Rescale, null);
         File outfile = new File("map.png");
                   ImageIO.write(Rescale, "png", outfile);
                   BufferedImage fromFile = ImageIO.read(outfile);
                   ColorModel cm = fromFile.getColorModel();
                   System.out.println(cm.getClass() + ", bits/pixel=" + cm.getPixelSize());
              catch(Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
              return new File("map.png");
         public static GraphicsConfiguration getDefaultConfiguration()
    GraphicsEnvironment ge = GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment();
    GraphicsDevice gd = ge.getDefaultScreenDevice();
    return gd.getDefaultConfiguration();
         public static BufferedImage copyRescaled(BufferedImage tgt, BufferedImage src)
              Graphics2D g2 = tgt.createGraphics();
    int w=tgt.getWidth(), h=tgt.getHeight();
    hintForBestQuality(g2);
         g2.drawImage(src, 0, 0, w, h, null);
         g2.dispose();
    return tgt;
    public static Graphics2D hintForBestQuality(Graphics2D g2)
    g2.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_INTERPOLATION,
              RenderingHints.VALUE_INTERPOLATION_BILINEAR);
    g2.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_RENDERING,
              RenderingHints.VALUE_RENDER_QUALITY);
    return g2;
         public static BufferedImage rescale(BufferedImage src, int w, int h)
    int transparency = src.getColorModel().getTransparency();
    GraphicsConfiguration gc = getDefaultConfiguration();
    BufferedImage tgt = gc.createCompatibleImage(w, h, transparency);
    return copyRescaled(tgt, src);

    First, we need to be clear about what you're trying to do -- is it rescale an
    image or insure that the image is saved with a 8bit pixel depth? Or both? You are also
    using GraphicsConfiguration's createCompatibleImage, which is excellent if you are going
    to display the image immediately because it might be hardware accelerated
    or compatible with hardware format, but you mentioned mobile phone screens, so
    there is no advantage to using GraphicsConfiguration in that case, and if fact, it's
    probably changing your ColorModel when you're not looking.

I'm trying to figure out the best file format / compression for importing images into iBA. Also, does anyone know how iBA will compress the file? How to put image with HTML code into JEditorPane?

    Works for me -- maybe you are having path problems:
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Test {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws
    IOException {
    String text = "<html><body><img

    f.setSize(800,600);
    f.setVisible(true);
    }Also: why the requirement to use JEditorPane? There
    are simplier ways to display an image!Your String text variable uses as image source URL link. I use local file.
    Well, it's not strict requirement for me to use JEditorPane for displaying image. In fact, you could tell me some simpler ways?

  • What is the best way to turn line art into a 3D image in Illustrator? Thanks for your help.

    What is the best way to turn line art into a 3D image in Illustrator? Thanks for your help.

    What version of Illustrator? What do you mean by "Line Art"? What do you mean by "3d image"? Post images showing your starting artwork and an example of what you are trying to achieve.
    If you have Illustrator 12 or higher you can extrude or lathe a simple group or path using Effects > 3D > [Pick one]. You must start with vector data, not a placed raster image. You are very limited in what you can do, and you cannot model multiple objects within one 3D world. Each object you extrude/revolve/rotate is its own world, with its own perspective and camera. You can also make any art into a Symbol, then map that symbol onto any 3D surface you create. The results are, at best, acceptable, and often total garbage.

  • Turning Old "Synced" Online Images Into Fully Managed Albums

    What is the model for old online albums — i.e. for those with images synced with Aperture but not uploaded originally from the Aperture library? It seems these "downloaded" images behave as of they live online, and cannot be fully edited or managed in Aperture. Is that right? Is there a way to transform such images into full Aperture library images? Or is the only way to do this to to (a) really download the image to Aperture and then (b) re-upload (and replace) the downloaded image on the server (typically loosing any server data for the image in the process)?

    Yes, you cannot adjust Remote Images. You should be able to just drag the images from the Mobile Me album to an existing Project in your library and there by making them "local". You can then drag them back to the web album in question, delete the remote version and re publish. You do lose what was associated with the initial remote image though.
