Turning image traced PNG to paths?

Hello, I am trying to make a crack wall texture effect on some text in illustrator cs6.
I have some crack texture photoshop brushes I really like, so I brushed on a blank psd canvas and saved it to PNG with transparent background.
I placed that in illustrator and image traced it so that it would create the paths for the cracked effect, but I can't seem to get it to make the paths for me.
I'm trying to do this so I can use the outlined brushes to erase the text layer with the traced crack png, removing the proper paths from the text layer so the text layer is now transparent where those cracks are.
Is there an easier way to do this or something I'm missing in the live trace feature?
Thanks!

Wow, that was simple.
Thanks.
Now is there a way for me to use pathfinder to erase that part of the text?

  • Dashed Stroke not working on Image Traced image?

So I'm able to use the dashed stroke normally if I create my own lines or shapes, but I'm using an image that I have image traced, expanded, and ungrouped, and I'm able to change the weight of the stroke and the brush but not apply a dashed stroke or a different brush profile, but I'm more concerned with the stroke. I haven't forgotten the gap.. What's up? Does it just not work on image traced stuff?

What tracing method did you use?
If the trace produced compound paths it is likely that you have also got duplicate paths.
You need to analyse the trace to see where the problem lies.
There is nothing about traced stuff that prevents the use of dashed strokes but if there are compound paths be aware that the compounds in their entirety will have dased stokes.
You may need to release compound paths (with the hassle that involves) to get what you want.

  • Image display - How do I display an image using an absolute path?

How do I display an image using an absolute path in a compiled WebHelp?
Our developers use RH8 map IDs within our in-house applications to display in a model window created using Telerik Rad Window.
Unfortunately images disappear from these model windows because RoboHelp removes absolute links to [inserted] images and changes them to relative in the compiled WebHelp.
How do we overcome this? Is there a solution in RH8?

I have tried again and changed the path in the topic HTML
    from : ..\..\HelpTopics\Icon_Search.png
    to    :  \HowDoI\Help_CMS\WebHelp\HelpTopics\Icon_Search.png
I am obviously unable to see it in RH8 as I have removed the relative link so it is "outside" of the project.
This time, on compilation, it has not stripped out the absolute links. The developer was working with me on this last week and we did have any issue in that they did not hold the absolute link. Most odd!
Checking the published help it appears to be working in the application, which is great.
So my apologies for raising the issue but it really did not work last week.

                   throw(e);
}But this code save de image in the server; its posible do it without save.

Numbers the iWorks program? Not sure you can convert it to that or just a list of numbers. Never heard of anyone that would even want to convert an Image file, Photo, to any other format. Other then another image format like JPG, PNG or a PSD Photoshop file.

  • Dragging images to the desktop copies image as .png instead of .jpg

I have nearly identical computers at home and work. Both are XP Pro, with Firefox 3.6.
When I drag an image out of a web page, onto the desktop, my home computer saves/names the image as a .jpg, but my work computer saves/names the image as .png.
I want my work computer to save/name the image as .jpg. How do I change it?

Do you get a real PNG file or a JPG file that has a .png file extension?

  • Saving images to PNG

    Hi,
I'm trying to save my images to PNG so that I can upload them on the web. I need the images to be a specific size - which I stipulate via the artboard size.
However when I try to save my images (via File, Save for Web and Devices) the image never saves to the size/outline of the artboard.
Does anyone know why this happens and how I can get my images to save to the pixel size that I need?
I'm using Windows 7 and have Illustrator CS5
    Thanks

  • Saving image as png

Hi, i have a simple question, at least i hope so...:
i tried to save an image in png file format. I tried several possibilities, but always its saying, that its not an image.
I used "IMAQ Writefile" for this, but the same problem occures with similar VI's. Drawing the image with "IMAQ winddraw" works though.
So i want to know, if someone could tell me the simplest way of how i can save an image?

    Hello,
    Here is a little help.
I think you need to learn about the basics IMAQ functions, I suggest you have a look at some example (Help > Find Examples and then search for IMAQ).
    Hope this helps

Inspect the MIME database key with the registry editor (regedit.exe) and do a search for that MIME type (file extension) via Ctrl+F.<br />
Be careful with editing the registry as there is no Undo possible: all changes are applied immediately.<br />
You can export key(s) before making changes.<br />

  • Does Aperture 2 have a way of converting raw images to png or jpeg.

Does Aperture 2 have a way of converting raw images to png or jpeg

    That's why we're here
In regards to your original question converting RAW images to JPGs is one of Apertures reason for being. As Terrence stated once the image is in Aperture ad you've made chatterer adjustments you want to it you then can export the image in a wide array of formats, sizes and qualities depending on what you will be doing with the exported image.
The Aperture user manual is a good place to start, it's well written and has a lot of good info in it.
    Good luck
