Turning off alarms in selected calendars only.

I'm running Lion on a macbook and have an iPhone with IOS 5. I have three shared calendars. How do I turn off the alarms on the iPhone for the three shared calendars onlly. Would like to keep the alarms active on my two calendars.

I believe that if you are acceesing a shared Google calendar plus your own personal Google calendar then you will get the notifications from both. I don't believe there's a way to defeat this, I'm afraid. You might contact one of the Google support forums and ask there for a more definitive answer.

How do you turn off the auto select behavior when working with shape layers?
I am using either of the path selection tools to select only some of the paths on the layer. I have the proper layer targeted. I have the selection too auto select option turned off.
If another layer has a path in that area, that layer becomes auto targeted and I get the wrong path. Turning off the layer is the only way to avoid this but then I have to turn on the layer back on between making my selection and transforming to use the other layer as guide. Is there any way to stop this auto select? Locking the other layer does not stop the auto select, just prevents editing.

As far as i know the move tool options don't have any effect on the path selection tools.
You might try clicking on one of the path points or on the path itself with one of path selection tools and if you want to select multiple points
you can shift click with the Direct Selection Tool or Alt click to select the entire path.

How to turn off alarms when iCal is not running

iCal-Version 4.0.4 (1395)
Imagine giving a lecture supported by powerpoint in front of an audience, all applications turned off except of powerpoint, and suddenly popping up the iCal alarm message "meet her (xy) in the pub". How can I turn off alarms when iCal is NOT running?

Hey! I was DJ'ing and an iCal alarm went off even though I'd selected to have alarms not go off when iCal is not running. Now that option isn't there anymore! Can I revert to the previous version of iCal? I don;t see any other new features that are worth not having interruptions during DJ'ing and presentations! I know that if I turn off all alarms, I will forget. I'd create an alarm to remind me to turn it back on, but... This is REALLY annoying.

Turning of Alarms on Synced Calendars?

I have a synced Google calendar with iCal. The problem is that the synced Google Calendar with iCal (OSx 10.6) is sending alarms that are not on the Google Calendar. Is there a way to turn off "Alarms"?

Setup:
I have several Apple devices (MacBook, iPhone, iPad) which all sync to my Google Apps calendar and update each other in real-time using CalDAV. Quite handy actually, except for the following...
Problem:
I don't typically use Alarms. For some reason, about a month ago, all the events in my calendar suddenly had Alarms configured and I can't turn them off. If I:
(1) Create a new event and don't configure any Alarm, an Alarm gets auto-configured for it anyway. Almost like a setting somewhere is auto-populating a default Alarm.
(2) If I try to edit an existing alarm, and remove it, it just re-populates it after I save.
As noted, I have several synced devices. So for every dang iCal event, I get multiple alarms, e-mail alerts and etc. As I said, really annoying!
Troubleshooting:
I have searched and searched for a default setting in iCal and Google Aps, but can't find anything that would 'force' a default Alarm. I tried clicking on the iCal --> Preferences --> Advanced --> [ ] Turn off all alarms setting, but it didn't work.

Turn off alarms when Ical not running! Bring it back

It seems that the option to turn off alarms when Ical not running has been removed. The only option now is to simply turn alarms off (then you forget to turn it back on!). i am a professional speaker and when an alarm rings when I'm using Keynote it knocks keynote off the screen. That is a real pain when you are speaking to 1000 people! Anyone got any ideas. And Apple, please bring it back.

I sure hope the developers at Apple as well as the management team who can make product impacting decisions are reading this thread - do they realize that this makes the *alarm function unusable by professionals* who do presentations? I was in front of a small group doing a powerpoint tonight and the alarm went off in the middle of it - not a good thing.
So, I will choose to turn them off completely at this point - it is the only option. And I am not going to manually turn them on and off - that's a ridiculous prospect.
I can only guess at the reason for removing the earlier functionality of turning off the alarms when the application was closed, but this is absolutely a requirement if alarms are to be functional at all for those of us who do presentations.

I use alarms for most of my events and the Mini sends out these alarms just fine. The problem is that when I open iCal on one of the laptops, it sends out a bunch of alarms for past events.
I have the "Turn off alarms when iCal is not open" box checked on both my laptops. And the iCal scheduler (can't find the exact name) is not running on the laptops and is not in my login apps list.
What I want is to able to continue to sync iCal but not have the laptops send out alarms. I don't want to delete events after they have past because I like to see past events in the calendar.
Is it possible to continue to sync via .Mac but turn off all alarms on the laptops? Or is it possible to delete the alarm associated with an event after the event is past? This would not work 100% of the time since I could open iCal on the laptop before the latest sync occurred and the alarm would still be there but it would cut down on the number of old alarm events. This may require an AppleScript and I am totally ignorant about coding AppleScript.

Go to the clock app, tap on the alarm button, then tap on edit in the upper left corner and then tap on the red circle to delete that alarm.

Help with turning off in-camera selected aspect ratios - Please!

I shoot a Olympus e-P2. It allows me to change the aspect ratio of the file i.e. 4:3, 16:9 etc. I like to use this feature as 'masks' when I shoot to help with composition. When I open the RAW file in bridge or Camera Raw, this pre-selected aspect is automatically cropped from the file. I want to see the entire file, not the cropped version. The Oly software gives me this option, but I can't figure out how to turn off this 'feature' in Bridge or Camera Raw. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your adobe product is only doing what the camera data told it to. However, in the raw converter you can try activating the crop tool then right click the image and choose to remove the crop. That may work (or not).

How do I turn off alerts to a calendar that I have turned off in iCloud?

I have added my iCloud account to my son's iPod and only have the Family Calendar turned on but he keeps receiving alerts for every appointment in my Personal Calendar....how do I turn off the alerts for the calendar that he doesn't even have turned on?

Csound1, he does have his own account and I added my iCloud account as a second one with only the Family Calendar turned on however he is still receiving alerts for all of my events in the Personal Calendar. I'm wondering if 'sharing' the calendar rather than having him logged into my iCloud calendar would help? He's not the only one either, my daughter and husband have the same set up and I keep getting calls from my husband saying "oh, are you going to pick up the drycleaning now?" hahaha! Even though that Personal Calendar is turned off, they keep getting the alerts..argh!!

Less time to turn off alarm in ios7?

Has anyone else using the stock alarm app noticed that the time you have to reach your phone and swipe it to turn it off has been drastically reduced with the ios7 update? After the update, my phone's screen goes black very quickly after the alarm goes off and I can never get to it in time to "swipe" the alarm off. I'll hit the power button thinking this has turned off the alarm, but it only snoozed it and it will go off again in 10 minutes. Because there is so little time to swipe to turn off the alarm, I have to turn on the phone, open alarms, and toggle my daily alarm off and on to ensure it is really off.
Just wanted to know if others were having this issue.

Turn Off Alarm With Secure Screen Lock

Does anyone know if there is a way to dismiss / turn off the alarm without having to secure unlock the phone?
It's very annoying to have to not only unlock the phone (drag the yellow lock up) and then also type in the password to secure unlock the phone before you can dismiss / turn off teh alarm for the day.
In the morning I'm still half asleep and it's painful to stare into the brightly lit phone to be able to type in my password to dismiss the alarm.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I tried various combinations with no success (there is another thread on this same issue). The volume down feature works on my other Sprint phones but not the Pre. I'm assuming it's just not currently possible. I'll be looking for a solution and/or work-around and I'll post back here when/if I find one.

How can I turn off time display in Calendar?

The newest version of the Calendar app seems to always show the time of each event as a separate line at the top of the event listing. While this may be sometimes useful, it is mostly redundant (since the border of the event, in Day or Week view at least, indicates when it begins). On the other hand, if the information in the event is a bit longer (e.g., a location), this information gets pushed off the standard view. Is there any way to customize this behavior (i.e., to turn off the explicit showing of times)? Previous versions (pre-OS 10.9 "Mavericks") didn't have this "problem".
