Turning off audio of female voice stating "Verizon Wireless?" (Droid X)

I am using a Droid X.
When I turn on my phone, a female voice says, "Loss of service" and then says, "Verizon Wireless." The "Loss of service" audio message also occurs if I turn on the phone's Airplane Mode. Also, when the phone rings, the female voice says, "Verizon Wireless."
My wife has the identical phone and never hears these audio messages. I looked for a way to turn off these audio messages in "Settings" but I couldn't find it.
How do I turn off these audio messages?
Thanks.
Richard

The setting you're looking for is called "Enhanced Roaming Indicator" but on the Droid X I think settings just calls it "roaming tone". uncheck that and the voice should go away.

  • Female Voice saying "Verizon Wireless" keeps playing for no apparent reason.

I got my droid on release day, and ever since it says "verizon wireless" in a female voice pretty often.  The phone would be sitting idle, and i did not get any notifications or anything.
Is there any way to disable that sound or any thing that might be causing this?
I would also love to disable it completely,  it can be annoying to hear it every time i recieve a phone call, before the ringtone, or i place a phone call, before it starts ringing.

I have this also and I have tried to find this option and disable it but I havent had any luck so far, I am sure its something I activated in menu but I cant figure out what option, if anyone knows the solution to this and know how to turn it off, PLEASE SHARE.... because its driving me crazy (Crazy Tick)

  • How can I turn OFF audio monitoring during capture from tape?

FCP has a very useful check box that allows you to turn off audio monitoring during capture, so you can listen to other things whilst the batch captures.  Is there any way to do this in PP?  If not, how can I make a feature request?
    I'm using PP CS6.
    Thanks for any help.

The only other solution I can offer is to go to "edit" "preferences" then select "playback". Under playback set the default audio device to your capturing device instead of the adobe desktop audio. This will allow you capture but not have to listen to whats being captured. However once it's done capturing you'll have to set it back to adobe desktop audio otherwise you can't hear what you're editing in your timeline.
Other than that I'm out of ideas sorry.

How do you turn off audio in a clip.  I am trying to eliminate wind noise.  I am using premier 12.

    Welcome to the forum.
In addition to Steve's suggestions, there is another way, that comes to my mind:
Open Audio Mixer, and for that Audio Track, check the Mute checkbox.
    Good luck,

  • Turning off the apple tv voice

How do I turn off the Apple TV "voice?"

    Hey Fortovia,
Thanks for the question. I understand you wish to turn off VoiceOver on your Apple TV. The following article outlines how to navigate to the Accessibility menu, where you can enable or disable VoiceOver:
Apple TV (2nd generation): How to enable VoiceOver
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4466
If VoiceOver becomes disabled on your Apple TV, you can use these steps to enable VoiceOver again.
    1. Press and hold the Menu button for five (5) seconds. This will return you to the main menu screen of the Apple TV.
    2. Press the Down button one time. This ensures that you are at the top-level of the menu.
    3. Press the Right button until you hear a Stop or "Bonk" sound; you are on the Settings menu.
    4. Press the Up button until you hear the Stop sound indicating you are at the first menu item; this is the General menu.
    5. Press the Select button.
    6. Press the Down until you hear the Stop sound.
    7. Press the Up button two times. You should be on the Accessibility menu.
    8. Then press the Select button twice. This will select VoiceOver and enable it.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Turning on Garageband Airplay turns off audio input for guitar

Turning on Garageband Airplay turns off audio input so I can't hear my electric guitar via my bluetooth speaker.  I know I can wire my speaker to my ipad but I don't want to.  Any help?

Did you notice the alert window that Audio inputs are dialed when using Airplay or Bluetooth? This window pops up when you turn Airply - Bluetooth on. So the behavior/restriction is normal
    Hope that helps

You will need shared object which is Flash's native form of
    cookies.
It store data on user drive in form of SOL files.
Upon setting the sound preference you need to make a record
    of that
and read it when the movie loads.
Check help files for SharedObject for details on usage.

Hi , and a warm welcome to the forums!
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
And sorry to report that OSX is more Widows like than ever, but….
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

  • How to turn off audio device powersave?

In both Windows 7 with bootcamp, and OS X (10.5.8), the audio device power saves, causing it to turn on when in use, and turn off after 30 seconds of silence from the computer. This has been an undocumented "feature" (more of a bug) since OS 10.4.10. The issue with power saving the audio device is an audible "pop" or audio artifact when the device turns on and off. It is only audible through headphones or external speakers.
Is there a fix for this? Note, it has happened since day 1 with this MBP, when it came with 10.5.7.
Does anyone else have the same issue? Is it a hardware issue or is it just software powersave releated?

Well, then I can't find anything but this
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/AudioUpdate_2007001
Unfortunately, its for Tiger. I called Apple help and support, it was neither help nor support, so I'm on my way to return this MBP. I'm glad I found what a useless device the Macbook Pro is for audio before it was too late to return it. Thanks Apple! I hope in the future Apple can actually work out some bugs, instead of just sucking in the money.
Off to an nice HP computer.
