Turning off browswer formats

I have a report which I am running as an .rep file. This is a 10g report. I want to generate the report output in HTML. When I click on the browers print button, I get my browsers default headers and footers. Is there a way I can put a button or link on my report and I can ignore my browsers header and footer settings. The footer for instance is the URL, and it doesn't look good at all.

Adding another switch just to turn off the ipod would add parts and that lowers reliability and increases cost, so I can see why the ipod doesn't have a dedicated on/off switch.
On the other hand, it should be smart enough to turn the screen off when commanded; if it still has disk housekeeping to do it could finish that up in the background, then actually turn itself off.
I decided long ago to just forget about this whole issue, I just let my ipod turn itself off when it is good and ready. Having it run on for a few extra minutes uses a miniscule amount of battery anyway.

Pages: how do I turn off auto formatting and auto indenting!

I've got Pages 5.2.2 and for the life of me can't figure out how to turn off auto formatting!
When I hit return to move text to a new line, Pages automatically indents the new line, creating a new paragraph which is not what I want at all.
I'm using a blank template and have not altered the default settings at all. Any geniuses out there who can help?

If not already present, turn on your document rulers via View > Show Rulers. Does a ¯ symbol appear by itself, or is it accompanied by an inverted triangle below it? The first symbol indicates that you have a First Indent set to other than 0. The inverted triangle says that you also have the Left indent set to the First indent amount.
In Pages, if a First indent is set, any hard return will invoke a new paragraph with an auto-indent corresponding to the First Indent amount. First lines will be indented, and subsequent lines are flush left margin (unless Left indent is not 0). In word processing, we only do hard returns when we deliberately want a new paragraph. If you want to force an end of a sentence, without forming a new paragraph, with/out auto-indent effect, use either shift+enter, or control+enter.
The First, and Left indent settings in Pages v5.2.2 are here:
Toolbar > Format > Text > Layout

How does one turn off the format column as the default

I would like to have the Format sidebar "off" as the default when opening Numbers. How can I do this?

I am not aware this is possible. I tried saving a document where I had turned off the sidebar as a template and when I opened the template the sidebar was still visible.

HOW do I turn off SQL Formatting for existing objects?

SQL Developer's formatting does not match mine and is driving me mad.
My version is 2.1.1.64.
I create a view, I run it in a database, I look at in in SQL Developer ...
The SQL tab shows everything every which way.
I have tried all the options.
ALL I WANT is to see the code just as I ENTERED IT ...
Instead, I get all my column names in quotes (I HATE quotes!!!!!!!)
and it aligns things, no matter how I tell it to turn off stuff.
I want to see ...

Don't recall this ever happening before, looked through all possible options/preferences and no luck.
I completely agree, this default formatting really gets on your nerves specially if your source is quite large and you need to preserve the code formatting in a very structured and clear way!.Anyone found out how to prevent this? im considering rolling back to one of the not so stable previous versions.

How do I turn off automatic formatting of JSP pages

Whenever I drop a component into my JSP from the component pallete JDeveloper automatically formats some "seemingly" random part of the page. This is very annoying since I spent time formatting the code the way I like it and then it's just re-written.
I really want to turn this option off since it makes the pages almost unreadable, especially if you have a small print margin set.

I answered my own question. What I found happening was that every time I pasted into my JSP page the code seemed to be reformatted. What really was happening was that the indentation was being adjusted and the line formatted to fit within the specified right margin.
If you go to Preferences|Code Editor and check off 'Adjust Indentation When Pasting' and 'Reformat Code Block When Pasting' this behavior goes away and the document stay's pretty much intact. It seems to be a good idea to increase the right margin also.
The only formatting that occurs now is for the line you pasted and any lines below the pasted line are moved up under the pasted line.
This change at least minimizes modifications so that if multiple developers make changes any code merges are reasonable.

Turn Off Auto format that drops last line of a paragraph to next page

When I am writing multi-page papers, I will occasionally experience an auto-format annoyance where, if the paragraph I have written ends with just half a life of text on the next page, pages automatically drops the last full line of text down to the next page as well. I suppose pages does not want the short line to be lonely, but it leaves a large gap at the bottom of the page - particularly when the lines are double-spaced. I often have page limits on my assignments and am trying to squeeze as much in as possible int he space I am permitted, so losing these lines of text can be a great annoyance. How do I turn this feature off? Thanks.

How do I turn off list formatting in Notes app?

I want the Notes app to function as a plain text editor.
But I was experimenting with formatting & selected "Insert Numbered List" from the "Format" menu. Now I can't turn it off!
E.g. any time I enter "1) " as the begining of a line, Notes indents & converts it to a non-editable list item ("1."). But I'm writing to paste into a forum that only accepts plain text, so this is useless. Plus, I want the parenthesis. If I copy & paste, the numbers don't even come over!

To make your user library visible, hold down the option key while using the Finder "Go To Folder" command. Enter ~/Library.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.2. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

Go to *Pages Preferences* (Command–,) and under the Auto-Correction tab, deselect the checkbox beside *Automatically detect list* option. Close the preferences dialog box, and you will have no headache thereafter.

How can I turn off automatic right side format bar?

Using Pages 5.0 + Mavericks: When I open any Pages document (new or old), there appears a format bar on the right. It's a nuisance to have to manually close it each time. Is there some way that I can turn off that format bar so it won't appear unless I choose it?

The only one left is the "unsubmitted text" dialogue, which would not be a problem if I were not a Facebook user; after updating the "Richard is..." field (which does not require a manual submit to actually send) I get the above message. This is obviously Safari just not realising that the info has been sent and is therefore (I imagine) one for Apple themselves to answer!!

Not being a Facebook User, I'm not sure how to respond to the error situation. However, this would be something to report to Apple as a bug via the Safari Menu. First, open to the page in question, then select "Report Bugs to Apple".

Sorry, in seriousness, are you worrying about activation of a perpetual license? Pick up the phone and call Adobe Customer Support. Explain to them that you've reinstalled everything from scratch after formatting your system, and would like them to make it possible for you to activate Photoshop again. They'll work their database magic and you should be good to go to activate with your serial number again.
If you're on the Creative Cloud I don't believe you need to call anyone. Just log in with your Adobe ID.

Turning off iWeb Auto-Formatting

When ever I paste some text into an iWeb text field all the formatting (Text size, font, color, bold, ect) is lost. I was wondering if there was a way to turn off the feature that automatically applies the text style and formatting when I paste in text.

The surest method of preserving all formatting is to print your document to PDF and then drop the PDF file into iWeb. You can then resize the PDF image and mask it off, etc. But you lose the ability to change the background colors, etc. You also lose the ability to edit your text. And you also end up with an image on your page, where text might have been faster loading.
The way I see it, everything's got pros and cons. If I were faced with your situation, I'd probably go ahead and preserve the editability and lightweight nature of the text and redo all the formatting within iWeb. I like the idea of upfront investment for long-term gain.
