Turning off/deleting installed apps

I am not talking about apps downloaded from the apps store, just a few of those that my iPhone came with. You know, the ones I never will use. The first of these being the 'stocks" app as i just never se it and everynow and then I accidently open it.
I have looked in the user manual and had a bit of a play when syncing, but i have somehow missed how I am supposed to remove this. I was able to switch off the nike app, just not the Stocks one.

Ok - an update ...
Managed to get the phone to backup to iCloud, so decided to risk the "Factory" reset.
Took the reset option including delete all data and crossed fingers.
It took a while to resotre from iCloud, but everthing seems to be back and ...
Bluetooth now working agaim.
Backup to Computer working again.
And somewhat to my surprise, GMail in the mail app is working again. (The surprise being that the implication of other posts was that this was a 6.1.3 fundamental bug)
Still no idea why the iPhone was corrupted - but at least the "Factory" reset seems to have recovered the situation.

FWIW, I just got off the phone with Apple technical support about this. I use Genuis for creating playlists, so I don't want to disable it, but Apple support confirmed that there is no way to avoid syncing Genius data without disabling Genius altogether. I'd read somewhere else that subscribing to iTunes Match might allow you to avoid this, but that is NOT the case, as I've confirmed, and Apple support has confirmed. For me, it routinely syncs thousands genius of items, so I have to allow a lot of time for my manual syncs.

What you are saying is true but it will not always work. The aap store is dead. Wen I go to the fret urged page I see a white screen. I should be able to scroll down to the bottom and select View Apple ID but can't. This is on my wife's iPad and she thought after she upgraded to iOS 6.0 when it prompted her to turn on Genius that's what caused the trouble and she wanted to turn off Genius. NO CAN DO in App Store.
To turn off Genius I had to go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID xxxxx then click view Apple ID then I can turn Genius off and on.
But the did not fix the problem with the App Store which is still dead.

Yes, you can do that.
With one exception: any application made by Adobe, as those don't like being 'messed with'.
An alternative to what you suggest, which saves a fair bit of hard disk space, is to delete the non-required languages using an app like MonoLingual:

It will warn you if you are trying to delete a required language from your operating system, and you can set it to ignore Adobe applications.

Macbook turns off while installing

Some days ago I bought a used macbook. It had Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed. I wanted to repartition and make a fresh installation. I made it but when the half of installation was ready it suddenly turned of... i tried it 4 or 5 times and the same happens. I dont know what to do

Ok I did one last time machine backup to my external 80gb HDD. Now i just did a total format (erase and install). Now doing all the software updates, then I will bring all my software back over. Hopefully that'll do it!
Last night for the first time, it turned off when I wasn't even running skype video to video. I was actually doing the backup at the time. It happened twice, around 87 degrees. I think it was overheating... But that could still be do to wrong drivers maybe??? Skype, video to video, and timemachine both use a lot of cpu and seem to make it hot. I will let you know how it goes with the fresh install. Hopefully it'll behave now!
That iStat is good! Very handy to watch the CPU and Temp. I like the improved clock that also shows the date unlike OSX. Although I am not using it because I can't seem to get it to show up all the way to the right, in the corner where the OSX clock is. I can't handle the clock being over mixed into those other icons up there. It needs to be to the far right. Easiest on the eyes for a quick glance.

Each time I go to a forum site, it tells me there is an app for Tapatalk for the site to chat with. If I click on cancel, it continues to pop up each time I try to respond on the forum. If I click on OK, it takes me to the app store to buy the app for Tapatalk, which I do not want. How do I turn off this notification that keeps popping up? I hate that too. What you are seeing is a 'feature' of the forum's website. They want you to down load their app. It's not coming from apple, but the website.

Turn off screen while apps run Need help

I'm running the SiriusXM app to stream music but I don't want the screen to keep after I choose my station. Does anyone know of a way to blank the screen? Is there a setting so when there is no touch activity it goes blank?
Also If you switch tabs it won't keep running the music in the background? I have a choice tunes or surf but not both?

You should be able to just tap the power button to turn off the screen. The app should keep running just fine.
If it doesn't, that's a problem with the app. I also have a music app in the Android Market and it is possible for the programmer to grab what are called "sleep locks" to enable the screen to be turned off without losing required resources like WiFi and the CPU. My app lets the screen dim, but not go off... however, the user can turn the screen off and the app keeps working.

Your question makes no sense, given the issue you describe.
But iTunes cloud function is under the iTunes menu >> preferences >> store.
If you mean iTunes match, that's under the store menu.

you don't turn it off.
menu/manage apps, open one at a time & uninstall last update. do this for all of them. after a few times, mine stopped updating/notification.
