Turning off descriptive audio?

My friends child has managed to turn on some descriptive audio thing that tells you what ever you touché. Any ideas how I can turn this off would be great.

Thanks for the help but I cannot scroll down on the menu, any ideas how I get round this please.

  • Where is the setting to turn off descriptive audio

I cannot find a way to turn off descriptive audio overlay in QT player, so there are two slightly out of sync soundtracks with a descriptive audio track.
    What is the solution?

This isn't built in but if you Google something like
"iphone settings shortcuts without jailbreak" you'll find various ways to set these shortcuts up.  It's not exactly "official" but it does not involve doing that "escaping from legal custody" thing which we cannot mention here

  • How do I turn off the Audio included in "Epic Drama" so I can hear my own soundtrack?

I have used "Epic Drama" to create a Movie but I am unable to turn off the audio included with it so I can hear my own soundtrack. I have clicked on the little speaker symbol within the frame and a line goes through it but the sound s NOT muted. Any ideas please?
    Thanks
    Rick

Ok, well to begin with when you unpin a music track it goes from 'floating' to 'pinned' - floating is the opposite of pinned (if something is not pinned down it is floating), so obviously you cannot unpin something from the floating box because it is already unpinned.
But you are on the right track - just wrong screen.  After you have unpinned go back to you main movie editing screen - you will have noticed the purple box around the outside of your movie in the timeline has now turned green.  This green box is the sound track you want to delete.  This should now be easy - just click once on the green box to select it (it may look like you have selected the entire project but you haven't and then hit the 'delete' button on your keyboard and you are done.

  • Turn off the audio

I would like to record some projects with audio and some without. How do you disable or turn off the audio to record a project with no sound.
    Thanks for your help

When you begin the recording process with Captivate, you normally see the red recording rectangle.
Click the images below to view at full size.
Click the Camera icon and you see a flyout menu. Click the Audio drop-down and choose the desired input or "No Narration".

  • Turn off rectified audio PPRO Fall 2014

Is there a way to turn off rectified audio in the current release (Fall 2014)?  I know they moved some options around within the application, but I can't seem to find it.

That setting is in the Timeline panel menu. Right-click the Timeline panel's tab.

  • There needs to be a way TO TURN OFF this audio-killing feature.

I've written in Apple's suggestion form several times during the past two and a half years, but iChat seems quiet forgotten since Leopard. So now I'm wondering if there's a hack-like way to fix this.
My girlfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship.
I live with a roomate on a 11quartermaster who can be quiet noisy. She lives in a family-packed home.
iChat has a tendency to gradually mute the other person if loud audio is coming from one side. This feature is useless. Skype doesn't do it, and we always have clearer audio. But Skype has far less features, iChat theater for watching films and sharing music and pictures with one another. Screensharing for giving techsupport, group video for free (How the &%#€ does Skype charge for P2P chat anyway?)
So, is there any way to disable this "Smart" audio leveling/normalizing feature? Oh and while I'm at it, is there a way to make calls autoresume if connection is lost? A session can easily last 3 hours, sometimes 6+, saying something for a long time, thinking you can be heard only to find out it's saying that there was no connection for 10 seconds, is quiet frustrating when it happens several times a day, every day of the year.
Thanks in advance! Willing to use any terminal-based fixes!
What we did to troubleshoot: Turn off and on the "recude ambient noise" in sound settings, as well as both using headphones. I asume the feature is to stop feedback, but feedback is impassible with headphones (As long as they are volumed responibly)

    Hi,
On the sound front you seemed to have tried most things.
From the way you started I was thnking of Headsets but I se you have tried them as well.
I generally keep my Volume on my computer fairly low.
I then use this AppleScript that is linked in the iChat Video Invites in the Alerts section of the Preferences so it is auto Triggered.
    using terms from application "iChat"

            set volume input volume 85
            delay 0.2
            set volume output volume 80
            delay 0.2
        end av chat started
    end using terms from
The First bit just make me look "Busy" both by turning the Away marker (Red) On and by the Message.
The Second bumps bother trhe Input Volume (The one set in System Preferences > Sound > Input) and the Output Volume.
You could take the second part of this and set it in a loop to keep resetting the volume every few seconds.

  • How do I Turn Off HDMI Audio

Hi, I love my Mac Mini, I really do. But this little problem is driving me batty!
    Speaker 1
I have my Mini plugged into an HDMI monitor, and as you probably know, HDMI monitors have a speaker built in (or at least mine does).
    Speaker 2
I also of course have my internal Mac Mini speakers.
    Speaker 3
I sometimes connect my bluetooth headphones, especially when watching a film or gaming.
The problem occurs when I either disconnect my headphones, or the system comes out of standby. When this happens, it defaults to the HDMI output, which is not only rubbish, but not easily controlable. I can't use the volume keys on my keyboard, and must resort to clucky buttons on the monitor.
What I want, very simply, is to disable the HDMI output on the Mac, so if I'm not using my headphones, it defaults to the internal speakers.
Is this possible, and if so, how?

Thanks for the info BDAqua, didn't think to look there.
But alas, it didn't work. There aren't any settings to remove a device. You can flag a device to play sound and/or alerts, but it isn't sticky. When I activate and then turn off my headset, it defaults to the HDMI output even though I just set it to internal speakers.
There also isn't a way to set the priority for which one to be selected first.
Den, I do that already, but am hoping to find a way to configure it permanently. I shouldn't have to select it every single freaking time. Apple is smarter than this, it should just know.
There also isn't a way to disable or configure the speakers on my monitor.
I've also looked at system settings, and the actual audio devices. No settings there to do what I want it to either.

  • Is it possible to turn off selected audio tracks for export?

    Hi,
I have worked with fcp 5 before on a project with two languages. Beside the footage audio, each language had its own audio track which I could turn off for export. It was nice to have all languages in one project, because changes had effect for all languages at the same time.
Is it possible to turn off audio tracks in fcpX for export?
I know that fcpX hasn't tracks anymore, but is there a similar function to serve the same purpose?
I am not a professional editor.

I am blissfully unaware of how production companies work .
The project I am working on is a pretty straight forward instruction video. I will be shooting the video, edit and then have the comments recorded by professionals. In DVDPro I will put them both together.
The magnetic timeline is kind of irritating. I will have to work on the languages one after the other. So once I have a language done, I will probably create a compound clip to prevent the sliding around. That would also make it easier to enable or disable the clips.

  • Turn off the audio delay?

My question is pretty straightforward and simple.
Is there any way that I can turn off the ~2 seconds audio delay from the AirPort Express audio output?
    Thanks!

    Not really.
iTunes uses a QuickTime CODEC to convert audio files to Apple Lossless, and then, uses AirTunes to send them to the AX. In turn, the AX uses built-in software that converts the Apple Lossless to an Encoded Digital Audio format. From there, digital audio is sent to a optical transceiver to convert the electrical signal to an optical one before sending it to the innermost part of the audio port. For analog, the AX has a built-in DAC to convert the Encoded Digital Audio to Analog which is sent to the same audio port.
One operational glitch is the fact that, as the AX doesn't have a local clock circuit, when the incoming data is interrupted, as it is when you change songs in iTunes, there is no longer a digital output to feed the DAC, which loses lock as a result. This is typically "heard" as the delay you are experiencing.

  • Turn off HDMI audio output?

    Hi all.
I have my ATV (current gen) hooked up to my TV via HDMI, and hooked up to my home theater system via optical audio cable. The problem is now, sound is being output on both the TV and the home theater system. I can turn the volume on my TV to off, which is a workaround, but it's a bit kludgy. Is there a way to turn off the Apple TV's HDMI audio output or otherwise tell it to just output the video and not audio over HDMI?

I think it's silly that I can't change the audio output, but I appreciate the help.
I'm actually glad that all outputs work simultaneously - something like a PS3 where you have to choose between optical or HDMI can be a real pain if sometimes you just want TV speaker audio (HDMI in my case) and other times you want the full surround experience (optical to hi-fi).
I'd have no qualms about allowing disabling individual outputs but having them active over more than one is better than constantly having to fiddle in Settings menus each time you want the audio from a different device.

  • Can I turn off all audio except iTunes?

Is there a way to turn off all other audio on my Mac while iTunes is playing?  It's very annoying when I'm enjoying music while surfing the net and suddenly some website has audio that plays automatically.  Even internal Mac sounds like error beeps, etc ... I'd like to turn off everything except iTunes.
    Can this be done?
    -JOHN

Sorry I do not believe so.  If you are still using the computer then it still needs to be able to alert you when things happen.  I feel your pain on web sites with automatic audio.  I really dislike that too.
