Turning OFF GPRS/EDGE Connection

I have a iphone 3gs 16gb running on 3.1.2. I have enabled GPRS connection on my iphone by installing CONFIGURATION PROFILES using iPhone Configuration Utility. Now i want to enable/disable GPRS on my phone as per need basis. Is there any way to do it? My iphone is not hacked. It is an factory/officially unlocked iphone 3GS. I do not want to create multiple profiles to disable/enable GPRS.
I am also not able to find a menu or tab where i can do settings for APN.
Any clues how to resolve this?

You cannot selectively turn off the data connectivity. Airplane Mode with Wi-Fi turned back on will stop access to cellular data, but will also prevent incoming/outgoing voice calls, SMS, etc., in addition to deactivating the GPS and Bluetooth radios.

Here's the step by step you can try
Menu > Settings > Configuration > Default Config. Settings > scroll to the Access Points one by one and press on Options > Delete > Delete everything.
Do you have an Email set up on your phone? If you have, then delete it.
Do you have an application on your homescreen that needs to be connected to Internet? remove it. Disabling the homescreen will help too.

My ipod 4 fell and turned off, when i connect it appears recovery mode.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. Turn off GPRS Nokia 2630

How do I turn off GPRS on my Nokia 2630. My service provider charges per byte and I have friends who had their bills cranked up to insane (and I mean insane!!) levels just because they had the settings wrong.
Then I must comment a little on the usability of the menus. How come everything is so much worse no compared to what it used to be on the older phones. My old 6230 was good but after many years it started to fall apart.
Everything is slow and you have to wait after each key press. Icons are not clear and you have to actually try before you know what the icon means. I mean almost every cheap homepage have icons and links that are quite clear, so why can't Nokia do it right?

Suppress GPRS/EDGE Connectivity

I spent considerable time to figure out a way to remove GPRS/EDGE connectivity from my Nokia X2.
I can't delete the Access Point configuration, no matter how I access it (from the Connectivity menu, from the built-in browser).
There is also no 'always ask' option.
This is obviously a money extortion scheme by my provider. How can Nokia allow something like this?
Is there a way to remove all AP information?

Unfortunately, it didn't work.
I create personal settings for web and access point under Settings / Configuration / Personal Settings. I now have to entries there:
Nil Access Point
Nil web
These are the names I have given them. I didn't enter any information when creating them other than the name.
I then selected 'Nil Access Point' under Settings / Configuration / Preferred access point.
I also selected 'Personal config' under Settings / Configuration / Default Config Settings.
I then selected Settings / Configuration / Default in all apps.
My Settings / Configuration looks like this now:
Default config. settings
Personal config
Default in all apps.
Preferred access point
Nil Access Point
Personal Settings
I also selected 'Nil Web' in the settings of the build in web browser ('internet').
However, the phone is still connecting via Edge when I open Ovi Store, Communities (Facebook), or browse with the built in web browser.
Is this a joke? I mean **bleep**? I am so disappointed with both my provider and Nokia. I dont expect much from the mobile phone industry but this is a new low.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPad Wi-Fi + 3G is connected to Wi-Fi 3G turned off can't connect.

I have the original iPad and have owned it for quite a while. This seem to have started within the last few weeks. It may have something to do with the upgrade to 4.3.1, I don't know. But I have been told by AT&T twice now in about three weeks that I am running low on my Cellular Data Plan. I buy the 250MB plan and usually use about 200MB a month or less. I have never run out of data before. Most places that I frequent have Wi-Fi. I thought it might have been from one of my apps that is somewhat internet intensive and somehow forced the iPad to us 3G over Wi-Fi. So to save data I turned off the Cellular network to force the iPad to use Wi-Fi. It connects immediately. Then after a while the Wi-Fi symbol in the top left corner disappears and I can no longer connect to the internet. If I check the Wi-Fi in System Preferences, it says that I'm connected to the Wi-Fi to the correct WAP and with good strength.
This appears to be different than the old "can't connect" because the iPad used to ask me to enter the network password. From what I can tell I am connected to Wi-Fi but the iPad refuses to use it preferring the 3G. I have rebooted the device with no affect.
Anyone seen this or know if this is a bug with 4.3.1? Any help is appreciated.

I did as below and i was fine
go to > Settings>wifi>tap blue arrow beside the network to go to IP & Proxy details
If proxy is higlighted as "OFF" select it to "AUTO"

How to turn off frame edge highlighting in CS5?

Has anyone discovered how to turn off the frame edge highlighting on rollovers. I find this feature visually distracting and quite annoying as I'm moving around a page. Send advice, please. Thx.

InDesign tries very hard to help you align objects when you drag by snapping them Do you dislike the Frame Edge Highlighting that appears when you mouse over frames in CS5? Spring-loaded tools can help. Frame edge highlighting only appears when you use one of the selection tools. With spring-loaded tools, you can press and hold single keys to temporarily switch to any other tool. As long as you hold the key for more than a second, you'll switch back to your previous tool when you release the key. You have plenty of choices (t, \, p, f, m, n, c, e, g, z, etc).
Holding the spacebar also prevents the highlighting from appearing, and it's a nice big place for your fingers to rest. Heck, you don't even have to pay much attention to where you press--just rest your hand in the middle of the keyboard and lift it up when you want to select something. But don't hold v or a, which are the shortcuts for the selection tools.

There have been several threads on this, including the locked 201-post monster, Frame edge highlighting, and the feature request Allow Frame Edge Highlighting to be turned off, and frame edge highlights on hover.
Basically the takeaway is that it only happens with the selection (V) and direct selection (A) tools, and that multiple people have asked Adobe for a control to turn it off, and they've finally added one, but only in CS5.5, not in a CS5 maintenance release.

When I open Ichat AV (3.1.5) /preferences/video I receive te message «Isight does not respond»

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
If the device is wiped by you or another, you may not be able to locate the device (although some have reported they can)

Can I turn off my cellular connection completely but still use the gps?

On an old so, I forget which one, I used to be able to disable my cellular connection. I realise I can still do this with airplane mode but this stops the GPS working too. The main reason I want this as when I'm hiking I want to use my phone as a GPS device but without any signal my phones battery lasts about an hour. When I used to be able to disable it I could get a good 12+ hours of gps tracking.

It that case I'll test an workaround this weekend to see if I'm able to use it more than one day:
Disable Auto Screen Brightness and set Brightness to minimum
Turn Off:
Data Connection
Wifi Connection
Under Location Services, turn off
Cell Network Search
Traffic
Above just to be safe because GSM services will not be initiated
Reboot phone
Not unlock the SIM card so the GSM services wil not start.
I'll let you know if there are some improvements and let's hope that Apple will allow us to turn off GSM services as well in the futures iOSes

Turn off Power Cable Connect Sound in iPhone5

I would like to turn off the sound you get when you connect the power cable to the iPhone5. Does anyone know how to do this? Silencing all sound is not an option, as I still want to use the alarm clock function.

Flip the Ring/Silent switch. Alarms still work with this switched on.

Computer froze..Had to turn off with iPod connected

My iPod was connected while my computer froze. So I had to turn off the computer without ejecting iPod. Is that really a problem?

If the iPod seems to be working fine, then you should be okay.
Unplugging the iPod can be bad if the iPod is actively being synced or (really bad) if the iPod's software is being updated. For this one time though, it should be fine.
