Turning off imessaging without iphone

I recently changed to an android and i am not receiving texts from iphone users on my new phone... please help!

Is iMessage actually turning off or is it simply unable to deliver the message via iMessage and reverting to SMS?

  • Turning off iMessage without iPhone 4s present

Anyone have a helpful hint on how to turn off iMessage without my old iPhone 4s present? I have read numerous boards and sites that you have to unregister your account on your profile...or you have to wait 30 days for it to unregister..or you have to get all of your iphone contacts to switch something for when they send me  message...or go change your apple id password..I just want an answer. I have gone into my Apple ID account and unregistered the phone/phone number. I have changed my password for Apple ID. I have tried to go into the iCloud account through my Apple ID and it will let me in but you cant do anything other than see what I had on there the last time I backed up my iphone. I can get text from a couple of my iphone contacts individually but it does not work when I do multiple contacts. I never get their replies.
Does it really take 30 days for it to reset?
Any experiences or advice please let me know.
    I now have a Samsung Galaxy 4.
    Thank you

  • Help turn off iMessage without my phone...

I recently switched from iPhone to Android and no longer have my iPhone.  However, texts from my wife still go to iMessage because she is on iPhone... help!

Put your sim in her phone & turn iMessage off. If you registered your phone with Apple, you can login to your support profile & remove the phone. Those are the only two ways I know to fix this.

Can’t receive text messages on a non-Apple phone

  • I can't turn off iMessage! I'm losing messages people send me via iMessage!

I have an iPhone 4 with iMessage enabled.
But now I'm using my SIM card in an HTC phone. The problem is people with iPhone still see me as being on iMessage and when they text me, the text is sent via (blue) iMessage and not (green) SMS. So now on my HTC phone I can not receive any messages from iPhone users!
I've turned off iMessage on iPhone AND iPad. Logged out of all iCloud related services - iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, iTunes...
I've deleted my iPhone from my Apple ID Profile online.
But people with iPhone still see me as on iMessage! What should I do to permanently remove my phone number from iMessage service?

  • If I turn off iMessages on my iphone 5 and only use SMS, I am hoping this will this stop ALL my messages going to partners ipad? I only want 2 use SMS and not have any of my messages go to partners ipad so dont want to alter ipad settings.

My situtation is this, my soon to be ex previously set up an ipad with both our numbers and we share a linked itunes/icloud account so if my phone is off he gets all my messages via his ipad that I DO NOT have access to his ipad at ALL. I can't set up my own itunes account (not yet until I leave him) otherwise he will know I am leaving him and it will cause major problems. So I was hoping that if I turn off iMessages on my iphone 5 and just talk to my family via SMS and NOT touch his precious ipad mini, that he wont be able to get my messages anymore and if I turn off iCloud storage and back up as well on my iphone only. Is this correct? Its just a temporary solution I am hoping. I have searched for days and hours and I just cant find this answer anywhere....
Do I HAVE to turn off my phone number off or delete it on his ipad? I am really hoping I can just do this at my own end and not touch his ipad in anyway or have to change my itunes id YET. Once I leave him shortly, I will create a whole new ID etc.  I just wanna know if I can do this myself on my iphone only. Please any experienced help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much.

SMS messages will not go to the iPad Mini. It's not capable of receving them. If you have access and can do it without it causing a problem, remove your iPhone from the Apple ID Support profile:
    Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
    Click on "Edit Products"
Click on the "X" to the right of the product.
    Click "Unregister"
If anyone in your family uses iMessage, they will go to both you and your boyfriend unless you do that.
To be completely safe, you may want to simply use an alternate message app such as Skype, Viber, Whatsapp (assuming everyone has a smartphone) until the issue is resolved. Google Voice will also allow you to send and receive texts to another number on your phone.
    Best of luck.

  • Can I Turn off iMessage in a group text with multiple people with different devices? There's 1 person in the group text that doesn't use iPhone anymore and they can't see any messages that are sent unless we send as regular text individually.

Is there a way to turn off iMessage for a group text that includes multiple people with different non-apple devices? When a message is sent, only the iPhone users can see the iMessage. Those without them cannot see the texts unless we send individual Text Messages or turn off iMessage completely.

now I have this and it still doesn't work.

TechCrunch posted a solution today that applies to this problem, I think.
    Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Click your old iPhone and "unregister" it.
