Turning off parental control

Parental control will not let me connect to various websites. (eg. Met Office) I've updated my DNS TWICE and turned Parental Control off TWICE, but it still won't connect me, because of Parental Control! Received an email from BT saying that I have CANCALLED Parental Controls, then I try to get a regularly used website and still get this message "
You're seeing this page because BT Parental Controls is active and you are attempting to connect to a DNS server outside of our network.
You may have selected a different server in your network settings or installed an application that uses an alternative service."
Ready for throwing the computer out of the window!

You will have to actually uninstall Parental controls, and not just turn them off.
Also make sure that all devices get their DNS setting automatically, or make sure the DNS setiings are set to 192.168.1.254.

  • User Account Can't access internet once parental controls used, even after turning off parental controls

I set up a user account for my child. I am able to access the internet through firefox. I then set up parental controls and can NOT access the internet anymore. I turn off parental controls for that user account. I still can not access the internet from that account.

Parental controls is a part of the Windows operating system and not Firefox. You can get help here: http://support.microsoft.com/ask-community/windows/

  • Problems with turning off Parental Control

For research, I turned on Parental Controls. Since I don't have kids, I turned them off again.
However, I still get blocked on some web pages, regardless of browser.
I already killed the parental control daemon.
How can I remove the limitations of the parental controls completely?

    Update:
I found that it only affects a handful of URLs I tried in Safari and Firefox with the controls turned on and immediately after turning off again; Opera seems to not have any restrictions (I never tried Opera during all of this).
Where is the block saved? What do I have to delete to remove the block? For now, I can access everything in Opera, but I like Firefox more.

  • How do I turn all parental controls off PERMANANTLY?! urgent PLEASE help

I was playing around on the computer when i stumbled upon "parental controls." I clicked on the control for iChat, and it acted like a parental control. but when i unclicked the control because i wanted to go back to iChat, all my buddies were back, but NONE of them were online, which is impossible because not even the robots were online, or some of my friends who are always on at this time. How do I fix it to get my buddies back?! *PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE HELP!!!!!!!!*

    Hi,
Only an Admin Account can turns Off Parental Controls.
Go to System Preferences > Parental Controls.
Set the controls Back to the basic defaults and then set Parental Controls to be Deselected.
Then go to System Preferences > Accounts and then click the Padlock if required.
    Enter the Admin Password.
Now click on the User Account that you are Logged on to the computer with. (Or the one that had Parental Controls set).
Make sure Parental Controls is Off here as well.
This should make the Buddy list respond properly.
    NOTES
IF you have a Test Mac User Account and use the Same Screen Name in iChat in both User Accounts the Test account Parental Controls will flag your Account/Screen Name at AIM and will be effected in the normal User Account buddy List.
In iChat 3 and 4 Parental Control for iChat disable Bonjour Chatting and Jabber/GoogleTalk Buddy Lists

  • I accidentally turned on parental controls, when I try to turn them off it says my password is wrong when I know it's not. What do I do so that I won't have to wipe everything from my computer?

Trying to fix something else in my settings I accidentally turned my parental controls on. When I tried to disable them it said my password or adminstrative name was wrong when I know they are both right. I even tried to change my password to the account but that didn't help. I don't want to have to delete my account and am not sure how to back everything up if that is the only option. Is there a simple solution to this?

If you have Restricted your MAIN account in the perental controls that may be the reason. You may have to create a new Administrators account to change the settings on the parent controls.
Not sure as I have never used that feature on any computer I own.

  • How to turn off voice control with iPhone 5s with iOS 8

I Dropped my phone in the tub, I have an otterbox on it but it didn't do the phone any good :/. I dried it off and the home button started acting up. And now it doesnt work when i hit it. But the Touch ID still works. However randomly voice control will pop up and call random people when i don't even touch it. I tried going into restrictions > Siri and turning it off I turned off voice

Otterbox cases are not waterproof and are not advertised to be so. For that, you need a Lifeproof case or similar.
If you turn off Siri, Voice Control is enabled. The only way to turn off Voice Control is to turn Siri back on. Your phone has been damaged by immersion in liquid and may never work properly again. Sorry.

  • Can't turn off motion control

    Hello everyone,
First time on here.  Just got a u410.  Anyway I downloaded adobe reader.  When I opened it I got a message that said motion control can be enabled for this application.  So curiously, I turned it on.  But now I don't know how to turn it off.  Everyone time I open adobe reader, the camera automatically turns off.  How can I turn off motion control?

Seriously?! There has to be a simple way to switch off the quite annoying Lenovo Motion Control...?
I have now been using it for a while, but in general iit is more of a nuissance - any movement in front of the screen when presenting makes the slideshow jump ahead or back.
If I click the little message in the top right corner announciing that motion control is activated (it says something like "click here to configure") absolutely nothing happens.  If I click the Motion Control icon (on the Start page) the computer switches back to the last program used, no matter what it was, and then nothing else happens...
What is the right way to really switch this function on/off...???
Sorry, but my suggestion does not apply to your situation. I responded to the original post. I have not read your problem when I made the suggestion. You should know that. Maybe you should try openning a different thread, not bump the orginal one.

  • How can I turn off sound controll whele on the Satellite A200

    OS: MS Windows XP
    Thanks

    Thank you Jaba,
it is Toshiba Satellite A200 Series. Drivers, its configuration and configuration of operating system is OK. The wheel is mechanical damaged, so that is the point. I have to disable its function in operating system. But where can I disable it? I have tried to uninstall Toshiba utilities (controls, hotkeys), reinstall drivers. I have tried to find an option in BIOS, there was no one.
btw: I am a linux administrator, but I have advanced knowledge of windows systems so you can be short.

  • How do I turn off voice control for ipod features?

    HI,
I'm having an issue with my iphone 4, when using with a 3rd party set of earbud headphones that include an inline microphone, wind and ambient noise cause the voice control to go haywaire.  I've found the option to turn off voice dialing for the phone, but can't find a way to shut this off in iPod mode. Help?  Please?  It's driving me crazy...

I have the same problem with my ipod touch 4th generation.  It only started a few days ago after I finally updated it ios 6.1.6; I never knew Voice Control existed on my ipod before then.
It has not happened when I had headphones plugged in, only when it was sitting by itself on a table and I wasn't touching it.
The first time it happened, it was sitting on my night table at 4am while I was sleeping.  The second time it happened, it was sitting on my desk at work while I was quietly typing; I had to apologize to my coworkers while I tried to figure out how to make it stop.  Just now it happened again, sitting on my kitchen counter while I was on the other side of the room.  It has happened about four more times while I was sitting here at the computer researching the problem.  I even checked to make sure the case (Otterbox) wasn't pressing on the Home button, and it's not.
I HATE IT!!!!!!  It makes me so angry!  If I can't figure out a way to make it stop, I'm going to have to stop using it altogether.  Is that what you want, Apple?  And no, I won't upgrade and buy a newer model; I'll get an Android version.

  • Users turning off observe/control?

I think I may hit the ceiling in a few minutes. I've been posting how I haven't been able to connect to any remote clients that I've upgraded to 3.1 or higher. However, all of a sudden, I'm able to connect to one machine that has 3.2.1 on it. I was shipped one of the machines from a user having problems, and lo and behold, observe/control was turned off!!!!!!
Is there a way to remotely turn that on? If this is the case and I've been yelling about Apple this whole time and wasted about 2 months, I'm going to be slightly angry.....

If you can send a UNIX command successfully or remotely login to the system via Terminal, you should be able to turn Observe and Control on via the kickstart command:

  • Turn Off A Control?

I am writing a VI that runs on the PC and controls a NXT robot.  I have a boolean control on the front panel that turns on the motors.  If the touch sensor detects a hit, I would like to turn off the motors by turning off the boolean motor control.
I have not discovered a way to do this, since there are no inputs for boolean controls.  Is there a way to do this that I haven't discovered?  Or is it impossible?
    Thanks...

It is documented ofcourse. But there is so much documentation that it takes months to just read it.
Jim Kring wrote a nice introduction 5cm thick at least and weghing 1610 gram.
Is the documentation available to me somehow?  I'd love to have all 1610 grams of it.
    But
when you use LabVIEW professionally I advise you to follow a course
instead. And try to follow the nuggets from Darren and the rest of the
    incrowd to understand better

    Will do, and thanks again...

  • T61 Wireless Repeatedly Turns Off Windows Control

Upgraded firmware in my wireless router, and now my T61 can't connect wirelessly.
Wireless Network Connection is properly identified, Signal Strength is Excellent, speed is 54 Mbps. Status is Limited or no connectivity.
Something keeps turning off my Wireless Zero Configuration Service. EIf I start it manually, and check off "Use Windoes to configure my wireless network setting,", I get wireless access back. But those actions get reversed when I reboot the computer.
    What can be causing this?
In case it's relevant, the Lenovo PC Doctor 5 wireless troubleshooting test fails on the TCP/IP Network Connection Test, saying "Cannot Run". That happens even if I've gotten my wireless connection working.

    Hello,
Have you tried upgrading the ThinkPad T61's wireless drivers as well?  If so, did that make any difference?
