Turning off the blue wireless light on the MX452

I had to learn this the hard way!  There are NO instructions out there.
Steps:
1 - Click MENU
2 - Click SETUP mode (next to MENU, there are 4 icons....push the one that has two tools on it.
3 - Look at the screen (little clear window on top of the MX452)
4 - Depress right arrow to second setting - "DEVICE SETTINGS"
5 -Puh OK
6 - shows print settings so click RIGHT ARROW to LAN SETTINGS
7 - Hit "OK"
8 - You'll see "WLAN -activ/inactiv"  Click "OK"
9 - With right arrow - Choose INACTIVE
10 - Click "OK" - the blue light will go out.
11- To restore INCATIVE...just repeat steps and Choose ACTIVE

The blue light will not affect the battery life much, it's nothing to worry about. Things like skipping tracks, high volume and high bitrates are the type of things that make a difference to battery life (or the backlight, if you keep turning it on to see the song or skip to the next one).

  • How do I turn off the blue stand by screen

I like to leave the TV on for my dogs while I'm at work during the day or when I go out of town. When I get home, all the TVs are silent and showing a blue ATT screen. I could turn the screen saver off when I had DishTV. Can someone tell me how to turn off the blue screen with Uverse? Thanks for the help.

Believe me, I've thought about a radio, but it just isn't the same. I like having the light dancing around and people talking at night in case someone might be passing by or what ever. It looks and sounds more occupied with at least the TV on. (Cheap security device) We usually leave it on Turner Classic Movies, the old black & white classics. Believe it or not, when UV goes to blue screen in the middle of the night, our cocker spaniel starts to wail. Go figure. Anyway, I'm looking for a remote that will do micros. I've contacted Logitec Tech Suppt and I'm waiting on a real person to respond. Almost seems like I should just wait till my two years are up and go back to Dish .?.?.?Thanks for all the help.Is the given TV an HDTV?  (not an HD ready TV, but an HDTV), if so, the TV itself shouldn't have a screensaver mode, so you could always connect an antenna (using the internal ATSC tuner) for the pets and security, then just switch over to U-verse when you want to watch TV

  • Turn off the wireless??

EveningNew to forums and new to Sky (came from BT after many years) so hello to you all. Not going to knock Sky (yet) but just have a quick question; On my old BT router you could turn off the wireless signal between certain times which made it easier for us as the children could not access I-Pods etc after lights out but still use the broadband cabled into my PC. Is anyone aware of a similar feature on the Sky router - I have had a quick look but cant find anything... Thanks in advance

    Hello All,
    Thanks for getting in  touch.
@Gary0903, great to see that you have joined Sky Broadband. Thanks for your feedback with regards to the timer, I can certainly pass this feedback on to the relevant team. In the meantime it would require you to manually go in to turn the wireless on and off using the details that stantheman2k12 supplied.
@SkyMJR, welcome to Sky have you managed to run through the steps that stantheman2k12 has supplied to turn the wireless off at certain times? There is no current timer that can be set to do this automatically.
@deecorbett123, I hope you have managed to turn the wireless back on. As caesarome has mentioned you required a direct connection to the router to allow access the router status page (192.168.0.1) to turn the wireless back on.
If you have any further queries please get back to us.
    Thanks,

    Hi tdennehy
Well, first of all thanks a lot for your replay. We have perfect LOS with certainly more than 60% of the Fresnel zone being clear. The Yagi antennas are pointed at each other with no doubt, we actually got while in the "install root" and "install non-root" bridge mode the I and R LEDs on and stable, and S blinking. At times we got all the LEDs blinked fast but I guess we were passing through some strong signal concentrations. Heh, the client sugested to install the Yagi antennas as the omni but I just ingnored him, what else could I say hehe.
When we were installing all the equipment I had a play with different channels and it seemd like CH 1 worked best. The antennas use the cable they come with because the BR-1310 bridges we have installed right beneath the antennas, only the coaxials cables go down to the office to the power injectors.
Please see the attached screenshot from the signal and SNR reading. It seems like we have a little bit of noise. The signal was -61dB to -63dB on the installation day but 2 weeks later it went down to about -65dB.
So, you suggest we rotate both Yagi antennas by 90 degrees correct? I guess one needs to be turned clockwise and another anticlockwise correct? What de we actually gain by doing that? We change the polarization from vertical to horizontal? Could you please explain it to me a little bit more?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience. I am going to troubleshoot this on Monday so I would be great if you could give me some sugesstions. I thought of changing the Yagi antennas to 19dB direccional flat pannel of 3rd party but with this distance 13,5dB yagi I think are sufficient. Does the "distance" settings on root bridge have impact on the signal sterngth?
One more question, at the moment the 2 connected offices are in the same subnet so to speak in the same broadcast domain. On one site (non-root bridge)  they have up to 150 client connections to the servers on the other site (root bridge) but with 20kbps per station making it roughly 3Mbps total bandwidth needed. When they connect all at the same time, our client say the wireless link go. I really don't believe that becasue on the wireless readings we get betwenn 18 and 24Mbps so it should be way more than enough. Do you think by putting both sites in different VLANs would help a little bit so the local traffic would not need to be broadcasted over the wireless link back and forward? Can you shed on that a little bit of your experience? I suspect they have something to do with the switching on local site because when I was pinging the non-root bridge from the local site but connected to a different switch then is connected the Cisco bridge, I got funny reposnses, between 5 and 40ms over ethernet with 10 connections to the remote site over the wireless link but when we pingged the same CIsco bridge from the local site but connecte to the same switch as the Cisco bridge the responses were 1ms. It makes me think that they have some broadcast storming on the local site and that also propagates the wireless link...

  • I have a WRT54GC, and our wireless connection to the x360 is lost anytime we turn off the PC.

I have a WRT54GC that is hooked properly to the cable modem (adelphia) according to all literature... but, our wireless connection to the x360 is lost anytime we turn off the PC, which shouldn't happen. The router is connected directly to the motor. modem. We can be on line on with the pc and x360 at the same time and we have the internet connection. But both connections will also free from time to time on us. The cable HSI was just installed and we are new to this. Any assistance would be great! I'm taking my laptop home this weekend to see if I can get on wireless with it. Also (sorry) all the lights are working as they should according to the router software, but when I put the cd in ran the wizard, it tells me it can't find the router connected to my pc. I'm going batty with this. Thanks.
    MC

Hi ... Mac address cloning is enabled on my router - so I guess that could be a problem, and the filmware version is 1.02.5 - we just installed this thing and haven't done any type of upgrades.
A little history - adelphia didn't connect properly - turning off the pc killed the wireless router connection and then if I hooked right into the cable modem from the pc, I didn't get a connection. So, we unplugged everything and started out fresh following the install wizard and the pc now sees the router. After that, my laptop didn't lose it's connection when the pc was shut down either. So ... the xbox was next. It seems that when we have the WEP enabled, the xbox 360 can not connect to xbox live. We did a media test first it passes the connection to the wireless network and takes the WEP key, but it fails when looking for the IP address. All DHCD information is enabled. So, we disabled the WEP and ran the console test - and it passed. We then did the media test and it obtained the IP address this time, but then failed the media connect (whatever the next test is). Not sure we actually need the media text or just the xbox live test.
I'd like to be able to use the WEP security, but we can't go live when it is enabled.
We are new to this, so appreciate any assistance!

    Hi,
You may not have a wireless network adapter.
If it is not in Network Adapters and you have no Device Manager errors or disabled devices under Network Adapters then that would be the case.

  • Satellite A660 How can i turn off the lighting of the power button?

Hello, I recently bought a new Toshiba A660-1FL.
However bothers me is the lighting of the multimedia keys, if I work in the dark.
In Bios I could turn off the led illumination, but the power on/off button is still lighting, that distracts me when i am working.
This notebook has two power LED, so the power on lighting is in my opinion, unnecessary.
My question is: How can i turn off the lighting of the power button?

Here you can see the LED with the same function in front of you: http://s3.imgimg.de/uploads/t009aae62jpg.jpg
Yes in fact, the difference is color, design, but also location and brightness of the LED.
For me, this LED is too bright and it is distracting in the dark, as you can see here: http://s3.imgimg.de/uploads/leddf570760jpg.jpg
I was today at a local electronics store, and saw that Toshiba has the brightest Power LED on A660, but why it must be placed under the LCD and not in the front as in my old notebook Toshiba A210.
I also had the idea with a tape, but it would look ugly, and it must be removable without residue.
P.S. Also the fingerprints on the glossy keyboard do not look nice.

how do you turn off the apple TV box?  There doesn't seem to be an off button.  The status light stays on.

Usually, when you put it to sleep mode, the status light will turn off.  To put it into sleep mode, go to Settings.
If you want it completely off, then I guess the only way to do it is to pull the electric plug.

  • Turn off the status LED or make it a stable light

As I remember, with earlier Time Capsule or Air Port Express models, there was an option to turn off the green LED status light or make the light stable so it does not flicker when data is being transferred.
I think had my previous (recently departed) Time Capsule set to this mode, so I had a stable green light instead of nervous flickering with every transfer of data.
I just installed a new 3 TB Time Capsule. Can I toggle the light setting somewhere in the actual version of AirPort Utility? I did not find any possibility to do that.
    Best,
    Georg

Apple removed the settings in AirPort Utility 6.x versions regarding the options on the light.
If your Time Capsule is operating normally, it will have a steady green light.
Flashing amber indicates that the Time Capsule has a message for you.
No light indicates that the Time Capsule is not currently powered on....or it has died.

  • This past month I have been having problems connecting to my home wireless connection. Previously I had no problems whatsoever. I have tried unplugging the wireless router, turning off the wirless airport, deleting the network name from my list of server

This past month I have been having problems connecting to my home wireless connection. I have a MacBook Pro OSX Version 10.6.8. Previously I had no problems whatsoever. I have tried unplugging the wireless router, turning off the wirless airport, deleting the network name from my list of servers and trying to reconnect this way. These methods have worked temporarily, but the same problem keeps coming back. Most of the time my personal wireless connection does not even come up among the list of available networks. My fellow flatmates have PCs and both of them are able to connect to the network without problem.
The router is a d-link model DIR-615. I am not tech savy, so if any other information need to be provided in order to better understand my situation, please let me know.
    Please help me!

If I open the list of networks in a window it says "connection timeout," but if I just select it from the drop down it tries for awhile and then stops with no prompt. When I try to run network diagnostics it says "sorry, we can't connect to the internet" (or some solution-free variation of that)

  • Is it possible to turn off the wireless signal on the Airport Extreme?

Is it possible to temporarily turn off the wireless signal being emitted from an Airport Extreme whilst still remaining connected to the internet via ethernet? If so, what do you need to do to turn off the wireless signal?
Also, how strong is the wireless signal? If placed in a basement of a residential property, is it likely that the signal would reach two floors above?
Thanks very much for your answers.

Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab located just under the row of icons
    Wireless Mode = None
Update to save your new settings
You can reverse the process to turn the wireless back on when you are ready.

It's just not possible to accurately predict wireless performance in advance for any installation. A guess would be that the signal will be very weak, and likely unusable, but you won't know for sure until you try it out in your house.
