Turning pages in a word document

I want to add a story book to my website. The book is formatted in word. Rather than just adding a link so that the book may be downloaded, I want visitors who click the link to be able to turn the pages of the document as they read it. Must I enter each page of the book as a separate webpage? Is there an easier way to do this?

Welcome to the discussions, Julia.
There are several ways to do this and here's one. Print one page at a time as a pdf (how many pages?), and yes, you'd have to create one page for each "page". If the formatting isn't as important, then you could try copying and pasting to recreate the pages in iWeb using the "blog" template (that has "next" and "previous" buttons built-in).
If you reformat your page to be half as high in Word, that should give you a good size to use as a Photo in a slideshow. This one's a little harder to set up, because you have to reset your margins, print each page to .pdf, convert the .pdf to .png using Preview, drop them in order into iPhoto, then drag and drop that album onto a "Photo" template page.
Ok, so I guess it's more like three I'm sure there are other great ideas that don't use any of the above or use the above in a different way. Test a couple pages and see which one works best for you!

    What exactly is the problem?
Your description is so muddled I am having trouble working it out.
How does your exported .doc file mess up websites? In fact what does it have to do with websites?
Where, how and what are the random words turning up?

  • How can one print a particular page or pages from a Word Document using ActiveX or any other technique?

I've been trying to print  a few pages from a Word document.
Currently I am able to print the entire document using some ActiveX techniques.
There seems to be facilities for selecting the particular pages, however so far I cannot get them to work.
I have tried the From/To and the Pages in the PrintOut invoke node.
And as you will see I have also tried the Range node.
Anyone have some ideas on how to do this?
    Please see the attached vi.
    Thanks,

It's either in local folders, as it seem you had been doing, or in icloud.  If you go into the mac's Pages and view the icloud files, you can drag on onto another to create a folder.  But you can only have folder one level deep, so you can't organize your files/folders like you can on a mac, using nested folder several levels deep.

  • How to get total pages from a Word Document?

I don't know how to use it. My test codes:
    REPORT print_via_ole_example .

    CALL METHOD OF gs_documents 'Open'

CALL METHOD OF gs_word 'Quit' .
    new-line.
    END-OF-SELECTION.
    FREE: gs_word, gs_actdoc, gs_documents, gs_newdoc .
When run it, I can not get the total pages, and winword.exe hung up, can only be terminated in Task Manager.
Could you help me to modify this test code?
    Thank you .

  • How do I save a web page as a word document?

I can't seem to copy a web page into a word document so I can edit it.

Firefox will no longer allow me to copy a block of text to save it if the block goes farther down than the bottom of the screen. It used to scroll down as far as necessary while holing down the highlight button on the mouse but now stops and will not scroll with a block highlighted beyond the original screen.
I've been using IE for the past month because firefox stopped allowing this while it still works great in IE.
I just upgraded to firefox 5.0 hoping it would fix the problem but it did not. Guess I'll be back in the old and slow IE.

  • How do I save documents from the new Pages into a Word Document

How do I save documents from the new Pages into a Word Document?

Thank you so much - so simple!  I had been using the 'share' option (worked in old Pages) and only had icloud or email as options.  I have to attach word documents to emails to send to work. I don't want to use icloud because it's too public and I don't trust it.  Also, you have to be able to access the internet and I need word documents on my USB stick for work where there's no internet.
I love my Mac but I do wish Apple would remember those of us living in less-than-perfect computer-land.
    Thanks again

  • When I create a file, why does the PDF have text aligned on different pages than my word document?

I am trying to create a PDF of a Mac Word document.  In the conversion process text seems to shift - what was on the bottom of the first page in the word document shows up on page 2 of the pdf.  Any thoughts?

    Hi svht,
Would you send your document to [email protected] as an email attachment?
I will check it from my end. Please add the link to this forum post for reference.

  • Inserting Multiple Page PDF in Word Document

I've been searching for an answer to what I thing ought to be a rather simple question and I can find nothing. I have a couple of users who have attempted to insert a multiple page PDF into a Word document and found that only the first page of the PDF
shows up in their document. Is there any method to insert multiple page PDFs into Word as multiple pages without splitting the PDF into individual single page files and inserting individually?
    Thanks...Ray

A quick and dirty way to do this is to open the pdf document in question with word separately.   You get the following warning message.
I can then select all and copy/paste in to my word document.
The few pdfs I tried this with pretty much turned in to all images when I did this, but it worked my purposes.
I did end up having to resize one that didn't seem to want to fit when I pasted it in.  There may be a method to select an image and automatically fit it within the margins of the page it is on that would help that.
The file size on my resulting word document seemed to grow quite a bit as well.  Again, not really an issue in my case though.

  • Transferring iWeb page to a Word document

I am just using iWeb for the first time. I dont want to publish what I make at all because I am just making this page for a homework assignment. How can I save the webpage in a Word document so that it is accessible to be able to save it to my files?

I problem that I have with sending it to school is that for this project, I am using the Illinois State website. So I have basically copied the website layout, therefore I cant publish it because it would be plagarism. Plus, I cant print it out for the assignment because it has to be turned in over the Internet. Do you have any other suggestions?

  • If possible, How do I copy multiple PDF pages to a word document?

I know how to take a snapshot of one PDF page at a time and copy to a word document; however, I do not know how to copy multiple PDF pages at once. Is it even possible? I would love to know if anyone has any information pertaining to my question!

If it messed up the formatting, you will not be able to do more with Acrobat. Some third party products supposedly do pretty well, but that conversion may cost you as much as Acrobat.

  • How to save a page as a word document?

I have a a page with all the data entered in its fileds, is there any possible way by which i can save it as a word document.

Once the document is saved as say HTML or formatted text, you could use the OpenOffice engine (which would run on the server), and convert the document to Word format (or PDF, etc.).
    http://codesnippets.services.openoffice.org/Office/Office.ConvertDocuments.snip
OpenOffice runs as a background process, and with the above code (which is a servlet) the converted document is returned.

  • Blank pages in generated Word document

I am using RoboHelp and I have created a document similar to
others that I have created. I generate printed documentation to
Microsoft Word, and it seems to have extra blank pages scattered
throughout the document. When I edit it with Word, I see these
Section Breaks that are in there. I have to delete those and then
re-format my page breaks to get it to work right. This is a real
pain to do especially if I have to make updates to the document
(which I know I will have to do). Any ideas as to why this is
happening all of a sudden? There is really nothing unusual about
this document but perhaps I am missing an option or something is
    extra that shouldn't be there.
    Thanks for any help!

  • Force Pages to open Word documents...

We just installed iWork on all of our work stations (we are an elementary school). I would like Pages to open all documents that end with the ".doc" extension. I've done this for my own work station (through "get info"). What preference do I copy to my workstations to make that so?

Not easily. It may be possible to use the 'defaults write' UNIX command to add the specific key to the plist file, but the file's structure makes it complicated to generate the exact syntax needed, and it depends on the file's existing content. Using a tool such as the Property List Editor is another option, but this can only be done through the GUI.

  • Opening a Page in a WORD document

    hello,
i can open a word file through
    import java.io.;*
    public class Doc
public static void main(String[] str)throws IOException
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process p = rt.exec("C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Office\\OFFICE12\\WINWORD.exe tarun.doc");
Now can anyone please help because i want to open only a selected page of a big word document

You use winword to open your document, you do not use java.
Sure to open it you have wrapped the call in a java piece of code calling winword.
You could do the same with any language that can call winword!
Winword in is control not java.
If you want to open only one page of your document (*tarun.doc*): can you do it only from winword?
From what I understand from winword the answer is no.
If you want to only open 1 page you should not use winword and let a java reader read and interpret the coding done by Microsoft. You may be able to find libraries to do this.
But I would suggest to use open office to read it to have access to open code.
