for BIS users, wireless synchronization cannot be done with the Desktop Manager.
you need a specific application on your device to do that.
for BIS, Desktop Manager can do USB synchronization and Bluetooth synchronization only.
for Yahoo! Mail & Calendar & co, there is the "Yahoo To Go" application.
for Google Mail & Calendar & contacts there is the Google Mobile Sync application.
for other accounts, I don't know.

I turned the sync option off on itunes, and problems happened....

Today, when I was adding some music to my iPod, I decided to turn the sync option off on my iPod, but all my music on the iPod was erased.
Now, when I try to click/drag songs onto my iPod in iTunes, the "music" section of my iPod won't highlight, and when I try to restore my settings, I get this message:
The iPod "Corbin's iPod" cannot be synced. The disc could not be read from or written to.
Help me?

Itunes keeps turning on 'sync music' to iphone

Everytime I plug my iPhone in to my computer, iTunes will by itself toggle on 'sync music'. When I untoggle it and go back and hand add songs to the phone, it starts a sync process again and low and behold the sync music button is toggled on again! And the songs that I've just added by hand are removed from the phone again.
I recently used the sync to be able to delate some songs that had auto-download to my phone when I upgraded it to iOS7. These songs weren't appearing on the list of music when I hooked my iphone up and I wasn't able to delete them striaght from the phone either. I turned the sync off as soon as I got the songs deleted so I could go back in and add only the small number of songs I wanted to be on my phone.
I'm really at wits end at this point. I'd stop plugging the phone into my computer if I could, but its my only means of charging at the moment. Anyone else have this problem?

Hey everyone, I have also been having this problem and have finally found a solution that is not quite what anyone else has posted yet.
I actually haven't seen the "Syncing Music to iphone" since the new ios update so im quite happy..
Here are the steps that I took to solve:
1. Turned off auto lock and password on iphone
2. After connecting iphone on the summary page the only three boxes I have checked are Automatically sync when iphone is connected, sync only checked songs and videos, manually manage music and videos
3. Now, click the On this iPhone tab. In the bottom right there are "setting" and "Autofill". Under "Settings" select replace all items when Autofilling. I also arbitrarily selected "reserve 1.12GB for disk use".
5. Then I clicked "Autofill" and selected Replace Songs.
6. Lastly I pressed "Sync" while I was still on the "On This iPhone" page.
7. I was actually about to leave the computer and then I saw something magical..."Syncing Music".....Holy Sh...!!!
Notes:On the iPhone: WiFi, Bluetooth, Cellular, personal Hotspot and VPN are all disabled. I use PC. I have about 5000 songs. I do not use Match.
Before today I was also having a disc space issue with a large block of "other". I deleted the music data from my iphone and that fixed that problem, however, the phone was still not syncing the majority (4800 of 5000) songs.
I do not pay for icloud storage, I have never restored my iphone
*I also do not have the "Sync Music" box checked under the Music tab, however, simply doing this did not solve the problem

Turning off sync for an audiobook

In the new version of iTunes, how do I tell software not to sync a particular audiobook to my iphone after I have finished listening to it? I think I see how to turn the sync on, but not how to turn it off.

Oh, I see. It's pretty much the same as before. I clicked on the audiobooks button while I was logged onto iTunes, which lets you see what's in your library, but can't turn off the sync. I forgot you have to click the iphone button first, then go to your audiobook library. It's easy if you do the rigth way.

I've just bought an iPhone 5S in the UK, seems like a big mistake, but luckily by law we can return goods, which is exactly what is going to happen if I cant get this to work. This is my business phone, not having it functional can cost me money.
I have turned off sync to icloud from the phone for both my contacts and calendar, as told on itunes. However, iTunes still says they are synced from iCloud and wont sync to my PC, why and how do I fix it so that it doesnt go to iCloud for anything ?
The phone currently has no contacts or calendar information installed.
PC is HP Probook 4730s running Windows 7, Professional, version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601.

I'm happy you figured it out and just try to keep in mind that not everyone you talk to at support will give the same advice or have the same knowledge. Just like those who contribute to these forums. Sometimes Google is your best friend.
I agree that Apple could probably make it easier, but as of yet prefer security over freedom. (sound famaliar?)

How to turn off syncing for 2 devices that share the same Apple ID?

Hello, I really need help, my dad and I share the same apple ID and when he updated his phone to iOS 7, my messages autimatically syncs to his phone. So now he can read my imessages, is there a way for me to turn this off? Note that my dad does not live with me and I have no physical access to his phone. Also my phone is the 4 and his is the 4s. HI. Me and my dad share the same apple id. I just found it out recently since he bought a new apple device ios 8, and all his bookmarks in safari kept on appearing on my ipad and the customer guide books that he purchased for his ios 8 appeared on my ibooks. How can i stop syncing with him ? Also i want to know if the old books i have in my ibooks and photos in my photo stream have been synced to his new ipad also? I cant see his ipad since he's far away from me right now. I just turned off all options in my icloud setting, will this erase all the syncing between our devices? Please answer soon. HT204387 When trying to add text notifications on my iphone 5 Through my Ford sync all pages tell me to open settings, click on the sync when it is pair with the car and there should be a Turn on Notifications slide but there is not. Please help.

I heard that Ford Sync now allows the user to have text message notifications appear on the dash board. I have looked up how to do so, the instructions say on our phone click on settings-Bluetooth-when paired with the sync click on sync and there should be a slide option that says turn notifications on. Resetting Network Settings means that the saved password that enabled your iPhone to connect to your WiFi router was erased. You are now reentering that password. Most likely you are entering the password incorrectly or are entering an old password or the wrong password.
Check that the password that you are using is absolutely, positively, the correct and current password for your router. Make sure that you are not confused l with 1, O with 0, etc.

How do I turn off Sync without iTunes deleting all the songs on my iPod!

Well that's basically my question. I want to keep all the songs that are already there, but from this point on just add new ones manually. When I unchecked the Sync box it wiped out my iPod. Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to turn off automatic sync before you delete all your tracks from iTunes. If you don't, then you need to prevent the iPod from synching when you connect:
While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Command and Option keys on a Mac. This should stop the iPod from auto synching with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 25 seconds depending on your computer. Then you can set iTunes to manual synchronization.
Of course, this won't help if your iPod has already had the tracks removed. But you'll know what to do next time.

Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted : a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone. I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them. It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!

It should be telling you to download the latest iTunes on your computer... you can't install iTunes on your iPhone.

I only have one video project that I ever published to iDisk. It didn't have any music or photo files attatched to it, just a few clips stitched together. I can play these clips right now in the Event Library (so I know the source files are on my computer), but strangely, under the Project Library, the project is not there. I'm almost certain that I didn't store the project on iDisk; I just completed the video and published it to iDisk (as a .mov file I think) for family to see. I've tried to figure out how to get iDisk to stop looking for this project to no avail.
I don't know if others have experienced this, but if I click on any project and on the menu bar select Share --> Remove From --> Media Browser... it lists iPod, iPhone, iPad, tv, Computer and MobileMe. Why would MobileMe be an option here? This is the case for any video project I select. Didn't iLife '11 and/or OSX 10.8 remove all mention of MobileMe? I wonder if this is part of the problem too.
Edit: I just removed every project I have from the Media Browser. Still no luck.

It's telling you to connect to ITunes and restore your phone. This will have to be done with a USB cable and iphone connector that came with your charger.
