Tutorial at start up of 8

Can anyone tell me how to stop the tutorial that comes up every time I boot Elements 8?  I cannot find a way to turn it off and I am forced to go through it completely before I can access organizer.  This thing is acting as if every time I boot, it is the first time.

Dear VJ,    I spoke too soon.  My log on problems have come back.  This is maddening.  I'm ready to uninstall and through the program in the garbage.  Attached is the screen shot of what I get every time I boot Elements 8.  From there I can do nothing other than click "next" and go through a long and extensive series of screens, all designed to point out the features of the program and the upgrade, "Plus."  Eventually, I get to a screen that contains the words "Go," and that finally brings me to the Organizer or Editor, depending on which button I clik on.  Then once in the program, I select a photo and proceed to do some editing and when I go to close it to return to the catalog, I get the hourglass and I wait for anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes before the program allows me to select another photo, and the whole process starts all over again.  I've tried a fresh reinstall and I get no change.  I don't know where to begin with this. I only have 1600 photos and the program is telling me I've reached my allowed capacity and must subscribe to the on-line storage to get more room.  I didn't even approach the capacity of Elements 3, which is what I had on my previous computer, and yet here is 8 saying I'm at capacity.  I think I've made a terrible mistake purchasing this program.  I thought the program was acting hinky because I hadn't established my Adobe.com identity and my Photoshop.com identity, but even after taking care of both, I still have all these problems.
Please take a look at the attached screen shot and see what I see and let me know if you have any ideas on how I can stop this "tuturiol" from starting every time I boot, and if you have any ideas as to why the program is running as slow as molasses.  I have not installed Adobe Premiere Elements 8 as I do not do any video yet.  Do you think this has anything to do with my problems with Photoshop Elements 8?
Any and all help would be most appreciated.
Thanks again for your kind assistance.
Sincerely,
J. Piluso

I tried the "Tutorial - Getting Started with JSF" located on http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/jsfintro/jsfintro.htm#t6, but the last part "Creating a conditional navigation" is not complete.
    There are 2 issues
    1. The return values in the code blocks in step 9 and 11 do not match with the given example code.
    2. In step 12 I am missing the way to bind this message component to returned message from the login.
Could you please correct the code parts and add the message binding piece?

I am walking through Apples tutorial getting started with iOS development. I am at the storyboard area and can't seem to drag the cancel button to the green exit. I am not sure why the exit button doesn't except it. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a work around? I have done this app twice and still cant get the exit to except the Cancel or Done  bar buttons

Yes I checked it.  As far as I can see I did everything Apple said to do.  I took some screen shot so you can see how the screens are connected and what and where the code is, and what it does when I drag the cancel and done bar buttons to the exit

I think it's just a typo in your command line. :)
    You're using java.secutiry.policy instead of
    java.security.policy.
    Feel the difference! :)

  • Any good tutorial for starting J2ME ?

Dear all, I have written J2SE and J2EE for several years. But I am new to J2ME. I found that there are many packages of J2ME so that i don't how to start to learn it. Do anyone know some good tutorials for me to start J2ME?
    Thanks a lot.

This is not a reply, rather an additional question (since I havent figured out how to add a question to the forum). I need to program in J2ME on an embedded processor. I need to know what processors are man enough to support J2ME i.e. what are the hardware constraints. I have searched through the web and cannot find ANYTHING on this, and yet I thought the whole idea of J2ME was that it was portable to various embedded hardware platforms. Can I use a 8051 variant for example or does it need something much celeverer?

  • How to start with ADF

    Hi all
I wish to learn ADF and as a beginner, I don't know where to start with .
    So please guide me...
    Regards,
    Sundar

You might find this link useful:
    http://kohlivikram.blogspot.com/2009/07/oracle-adf-i-am-beginner-from-where-i.html
I followed Vikram's sample application tutorial from start to finish. I had to swap the table component mentioned in the tutorial for a tree (apparently the original component is deprecated) which meant that some of the other steps I had to work out myself. It's definitely a useful guide to getting started with 11g though.

  • HelloWorldSwing tutorial -- still in need of repair?

hello, as a new SDN member, i may be posting this in the wrong place -- if so, please let me know where to re-post, and i'll do so.
yesterday, 3/22/2009, i was following the Swing tutorial at
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/start/compile.html
i followed the instructions as closely as possible -- i downloaded HelloWorldSwing.java and compiled(*) it with "javac HelloWorldSwing.java". But when i tried to run it with "java HelloWorldSwing", i ran into the same problem that user "_zee" described in a post on december of 2007, at http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=572888 . That is, following the instructions exactly, then trying to run the program leads to the following error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorldSwing (wrong name: start/HelloWorldSwing)
as _zee pointed out, this can be a show-stopper for first-time users of java.
later, in the same thread, bruce chapman responded and said he contacted the tutorial writers to notify them that the command line to run the program was incorrect. he also provided a solution which was to change the command-line to "java start.HelloWorldSwing".
unfortunately, i did not find that chapman's command-line solution worked for me. i still receive a
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: start/HelloWorldSwing
this is not because I had copied any files up from to a parent directory, as chapman had conjectured. It's just that there simply is no "start" subdirectory: I've only downloaded one file, and compiled it: the HelloWorldSwing.java file, as the tutorial directs. That's it.
however, while i am a novice to Swing, I'm not a novice to Java programming and packages, so chapman's suggestion helped me to see this was a simple package problem. The HelloWorldSwing.java program is saying (on line 32) that it belongs to the "start" package. So I commented out line 32 and recompiled the file and successfully ran it as the tutorial directs: "java HelloWorld"
unless i'm missing something obvious -- always a distinct possibility :) -- the line 32 problem in this tutorial is really unfortunate and, since many early Java programmers may go directly to the Swing tutorial since it's more fun/graphical, and do not not know how to fix the packaging error, this may have cut short many potential bright future careers in Java :-) as _zee quite rightly pointed out.  wouldn't it be helpful to fix it?

Since I want to learn how to build composite applications with the Netweaver Developer Studio/ Process Composer I started with the tutorial "Getting Started with Composite Designer" included  in the Studio.
If I follow the instructions up to modeling of data objects the final step of generating the tables of the emplserv.bl.caf package fails with the error message:

    Hi Felixw,
You are probably using JDK 1.6 instead of JDK 1.5.
Please adjust the startup -vm parameter to be the javaw.exe of JDK 1.5 and you are just fine!
    For instance:
    C:\IDE\eclipse\SapNetweaverDeveloperStudio.exe -vm "c:\jdk1.5.0_18\bin\javaw.exe"
    Kind regards,

  • Looking for the basic Tutorial for Labview 5

I have a student who I would like to have learn labVIEW. But all of my systems are running labVIEW 5.1 I am looking for the tutorial which starts assuming that you know nothing of this program, and steps you through writing several programs.

There was a tutorial included with the LabVIEW 5.1 CD. You can also find some links to on-line tutorials here as well as links to some LabVIEW books. I don't know how many of the tutorials or books are specific to LabVIEW 5.1 but the basic LabVIEW functions haven't changed that much and there should be enough to get someone started.
