i want to practise abap so am searching for some tutorials on reports, smartforms,objects but am not able to find it.
i want some tutorial so that based on that only i hve to write program...wre all tables n desc of what user wants is mention.like how client gives us the tech_specification wre all detail of what he wants is given n based on that we write prg....

WebDynpro Tutorial accessing ABAP for CE 7.1

Hi all:
Just wondering is there any WebDynpro Tutorial that demonstrates accessing ABAP functions from SAP that can be deployed using SAP CE 7.1 environment.
I have already set up the SAP NWDS 7.1, developed simple WebDynpro applications and deployed them using CE 7.1 JEE Engine.
However I am just wondering whether there is any tutorial from SAP that demonstrates accessing ABAP functions from SAP and can be deployed using SAP CE 7.1 environment. I have deployed the tutorial of Flight List( accessing backend ABAP functions) already using SAP NWDS 7.0 and earlier version of SAP Java Engine. However I don't think it's a good idea to import the same project in NWDS 7.1 and deploy it using CE 7.1 Java Engine as the architecture/version is bit different. Or can I just import, repair and delpoy it?
Any suggestion would be beneficial

You can migrate a CE 7.0 application and its corresponding WebDynpro components to CE 7.1. Here's a guide that can help you in achieving the same.

Please could you tell me wich is the procedure so as to create Print Forms with ABAP.
I understand that i have to create first in transaction sfp
1. create a interface where i must import the data i want to bind in Adobe form
2. create a form where i must include the above interface
and there i have to map the data in the context which i bind in the Adobe form
3.In the layout i open the Designer where i create the PDF form
The question is:
This procedure is right or what else can i do?
Do i need ADS installation for this?
How can i run the form? I push when i created the form the Test(f8) button is there where i must run it?
Do i have to write a Application Programm and were can i write it and how i call it in the interface?
Do i need sth else?
I am talking for printing form.
As you can see i have a lot of questions.
I am new in this technology and Sap so i will appreciate if you help.

How to Register as a Developer on SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version

Hi Everyone,
I was following a tutorial on ABAP and this centred on "Hello World" application. I got a message that I haven't been registered as a Developer on the system and that I need some code from OSS. I have tried checking here for any clues but it seemed none existed. Can't SAP be a bit more simplified like MS? It really requires lots of effort to get the right help and even at that, helps are not easily come by. I really which someone would point me in the right direction this time.

ABAP Development Video legal question

Dear Community,
We would like to create something like a video tutorial for ABAP development for the beginner level based on the flight data model. We might simply put it on our websites unrestriced area, membership area or we might sell this as a product.
The system we are using for this beginner level development activity is the Netweaver Trial version, this is more then enough for this purpose.
Here comes the question; In the license agreement of the Netweaver ABAP Trial version there is this sentence:
"The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is "NOT FOR PRODUCTION USE". You may not demonstrate, test, examine, evaluate or otherwise use the Software Product in a live operating environment or with data that has not been sufficiently backed up. "
I do not fully understand this sentence. Would our activity considered as "production usage" and we might get legal troubles, or a commercial video tutorial is ok?
If we have a problem here, what could be the workaround? Subscription for a system hosted by SAP or maybe subsciption for a cheaper hosting like eg. www.michaelmanagement.com ?
I would really appreciate your oppinion.

I got some questions for you.
I think you are a great expert on SAP Development Subject.
I saw the webdynpro tutorials that you appended on this board.
When I saw the tutorial there were some persons work with me.
And they were suprised with the beautiful graphics. It's M~uch better than the webdynpro Screens( like colours or Designs) that I use until now.
So. I want to change my webdynpro development enviroment excatly the same thing as the tutorial's one.
And I found there is URLS. That means Unified Rendering Light Speed.
It changes Some of webdynpro's development attributes.
And I also think it can spoils some or all the webdynpro components that existed before I applied URLS.
I have two questions.
one of the questions is this. If I apply URLS on my system, whether the system does get any negative effedcts from the applying.
The other question is this. I have a experience that use NWBC. And the Tutorial's GUI looks similar to NWBC. I want to know the GUI's name and What should I do if I use it on my system.

Hi Friend,
Programs that can be run
These programs can be run by a user by entering the program name or a transaction code. They are they actual application programs within the R/3 System, and are explained in more depth later on.
Type 1
You can start a type 1 program by entering its program name. For this reason, they are also known as executable programs. When you start a type 1 program, processors are started in the runtime environment that call a series of processing blocks (event blocks) in a predefined sequence. The sequence is oriented towards reporting tasks. This is why executable programs are also known as reports. For further information, refer to Running Programs Directly - Reports.
A special type of type 1 program is a logical database. You can start logical databases together with reports. A logical database contains subroutines that are called by an invisible system program in a prescribed sequence for type 1 programs. The subroutines make certain reporting functions reusable. For further information, refer to Logical Databases.
Type M
Type M programs can only be started using a transaction code. A transaction code starts a screen, which consists of the screen itself and its flow logic. Screen flow logic can call special processing blocks (dialog modules) in the corresponding ABAP program. Since type M programs contain mostly dialog modules, they are known as module pools. For further information about running module pools, refer to Dialog-controlled Program Execution - Transactions.
Programs that Cannot Be Run Directly
These programs cannot be started directly by a user. Instead, they contain processing blocks or other source code that can only be used by an application program that is already running. They are described in more detail in a later section.
Type F
Type F programs are not executable. They serve as a container for function modules. When you call a function module from an ABAP program, the entire main program is loaded into the internal session of the current program. Since type M programs contain mainly function modules, they are known as function groups. Function modules are a type of procedure. They are described in more detail in the Procedures section.
Type K
Type K programs are not executable. They are container programs for global classes, and are known as class definitions. Classes belong to ABAP Objects and are described in more detail in that section.
Type J
Type J programs are not executable. They are container programs for global interfaces, and are known as interface definitions. Interfaces belong to ABAP Objects and are described in more detail in that section.
Type S
Type S programs are not executable. They are container programs for subroutines that should only be called externally. When you call a subroutine from an ABAP program, the entire main program is loaded into the internal session of the current program. Since type S programs contain mainly subroutines, they are known as subroutine pools. Subroutines are a type of procedure. They are described in more detail in the Procedures section.
Type I
Type I programs cannot be run directly, and contain no callable processing blocks. They are used exclusively for modularizing ABAP source code, and are included in other programs. Include programs are described in more detail in the Source Code Modules section.

WebDynpro Problem - Importing Project from tutorials

I am trying to gothru the tutorial Accessing ABAP Functions in Web Dynpro (4).
I have downloaded and unzipped the zip file 4TutWD_FlightList.zip
When I try and Import a project,
It finds the Project TutWD_FlightList_init, I am able to select the project, but then I recieve a error
"Errors importing Projects
Error message: Invalid project description.
I have tried other project tutorials off SDN and get the same error.

I have tried the File>Import>Import Project from File System>
I am able to get the project created but none of the other structure is being built. The application,controller, views and window are all missing. I have tried to rebuild the project and I have tried to repair the project. No errors but no project structure either. I was a little confused by your suggestion to extract and then extract again. I have no files in the TutWD_FlightList_init.zip to extract again.
Also in the directory structure I have the files for the project such as...
project --> ProjectProperties.wdproperties
application --> FlightListApp.wdapplication
resultview--> ResultView.wdview , ResultView.wdview.xlf
controllers --> SearchView.wdcontroller
Any other suggestion would be appreciated,

Doubt in Tutorial 6 Webdynpro for ABAP
