TUTORIAL: Install HP Laserjet 1000 on Windows 7 x64

I've created a tutorial to install HP LaserJet 1000 printer under Windows 7 x64.
http://laserjet1000.esy.es/
I hope it helps someone.

PCL5 is a rather loose term; for at least the last decade, drivers for new PCL5 printers have been one or the other of:
PCL5e - PCL5 enhanced for monochrome printers.
PCL5c - PCL5 enhanced for colour printers.
Even those terms are not precise, since the set of PCL escape sequences supported by one PCL5e printer may not be exactly the same as those supported by a different model, especially if those models are from different ranges / generations.

  • How to install hp laserjet 1020 on windows xp

sir, i want to install hp laserjet printer on windows xp. it is displaying an error message "inappropriate invocation.unable to start application".
plz tell me what to do and how...

    Hello priyasim,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand you are receiving a message "Inappropriate invocation, unable to start application". I will try my best to help you resolve this issue.
I would recommend following this Microsoft document on You Are Unable to Start a Program with an .exe File Extension. If you are still unable to install the Laserjet 1020, then you would have to perform a clean install of Windows.
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Problem Laserjet 1000 with Windows Vista 32 bit

Good morning. I have a laserjet 1000 connected to the USB port on another computer with windows xp and shared. I have to connect it to another pc with windows vista pc with ip address. Install the printer but does not work. I used the driver for win xp as I read on several forums but it does not work. What kind of driver should I use ?
Can you give me some advice ?
    Thank you

If your model is lacking the correct Vista drivers from Lenovo and Vista doesn't offer native support then I see upgrading to Windows 7 as your only option.  Here is a link to what Lenovo drivers are available.......

  • INSTALL HP LASERJET 2820 ON WINDOWS 7...

    Good evening.
Could greatly use some help. Installed Windows 7 and am now trying to figure out how to get my HP Color Laserjet 2820 (all-in-one) functioning.
Which software installation do I download from HP?
How do I "fool" the system or use the compatibility feature to install the printer?
Note: I have it conneted to a wireless linksys router.
I know these seem like very ridiculous questions, however from past experience (nightmare) - I am hoping to do this right the first time with everything working - printer, scanner, copier.
The last go around on Vista proved disastrous with support never being able to figure out the file that was hung up in no where land causing problems.
Thank you for any advice or help you are able to provide.
    j.

It will not install on windows 7 HP is not releasing software for it. You might be able to install a print driver but the full software is not available and will not become available. If you have xp or vista 32 bit I could help you get it installed that way but with windows 7 you are out of luck.

This page lists the supported printers for Windows 7 and there is no entry for the Laserjet 1000 which suggests "If your legacy product is not listed, no support is offered for Windows® 7".

  • Trouble installing HP Laserjet 4 in Windows 10

I had Windows 7, not windows 8.1.  Does that alter your view re compatibility with Windows 10?

I installed Windows 10 today after using Windows 7 successfully with my LaserJet4.  I couldn't get my printer to work.  After reading other posts on the HP Forum and beating on Microsoft to help me, I solved the problem.  Go to "settings."  Find the icon that includes printers.  Click on "devices and printers."  You will NOT see LaserJet 4 in the list of printers initially.  Click on "add printer."  You will eventually get to a message that says something like, "My printer isn't listed."  Click on that.  Eventually, you will have the opportunity to "insert printer manually" or something like that.  You will then have choices to make.   The key is in the port you choose.  (If you don't click open the part that asks the kind of port you want, you will not succeed.  Believe me, I tried it all, including Windows updates, etc.  I saw LaserJet4 in the list of HP printers and would click on it, only to get an error message when I tried to print the test page.)  What you have to find is the "virtual USB" port.  If you click on that, you will be able to get your printer to work with Windows 10.  Mine now works like a charm!

  • Trouble installing javafx_sdk-2_1_0-beta-b14-windows-x64-21_feb_2012

It says I already have the latest JDK but I have b13 installed.
Is it possible the installer is wrong or is the JDK somehow unchanged from b13?

I think you mean JavaFX SDK, not JDK.
Manually uninstall your existing JavaFX SDK beta (via Control Panel | Add/Remove programs) before installing the new one.

  • Hp laserjet 1000 series for windows 7

friend, I had a question for you, I have an HP LaserJet 1000 printer series but now I get a new computer with Windows 7, but do I not found hp 1000 printer drivers, pls send me the link or drivers ready

Yes - you can use the Laserjet 1000 with Windows 7. (I have two Windows 7 PCs printing to my LJ 1000).
Case 1 - (Easiest case)   If your Windows 7 installation is  32-bit  (How to check this)
Solution:  Provided by user jriv9 in this discussion
use HP LJ1000 XP HostBased Driver
Just installed it and it works perfectly.
    1. exe extracts to a directory of your choice.
    2. right click on printer -> properties -> update driver
    3. select to search in a specific location and select dir from step one.
Case 2 - If your Windows 7  is 64-bit and you have another PC on your network running Windows 32-bit (XP, Vista or 7)
Solution provided by user Los15 on this forum page.  I have tried this and it works.  I had to make one change - the port name had to be \\Computer Name\hp Laserjet 1000 DOS
Case 3 - If your Windows 7 is 64-bit and you have no other PC.
You can install the XP driver in XP Mode, and then install the XP driver as for a 32-bit machine.
Solution given by user erpp on this forum page.
    Alternative
On  same forum page as the XP Mode solution, another solution is given, using another piece of software called PDF Creator.
I'd just like to add my thanks to everyone who has contributed those solutions above. The LJ 1000 is a marvellous workhorse of a printer - the engineers who built it did a good job.  It's too bad HP didn't follow their lead and produce 64-bit drivers.

    thank you

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/
I have included the driver page for the Laserjet 1000. It does not show any drivers though for Window 7.

  • Oracle XE on Windows x64

Hello, is possible to install Oracle Express Edition on Windows x64 ? When I try to install I get error "Error: 1719 The Windows Installer Service could not be acessed"

    Hi,
In fact, Oracle didn’t have a x64 version for Oracle XE, but usually 32 bits softwares run without problems in x64 platforms ... Have you checked out if is there any O/S user's privilege issue related to this problem?
    Cheers
