Tutorial on creating a Sparkle effect

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a sparkle effect in which i have a small video on top of the main video.  The small video has a circular matte so it's in the circular shape, and I want the border to have a sparkle effect.. as if it is a star or something.  Can someone point me to the proper effect or a tutorial?
Thanks

There are tens of thousands of tutorials for After Effects, many are rubbish, but you get what you pay for. The problem is finding something that is a precise discrition that you can understand of exactly what you think you want. You can look up sparkle and you will eventually find out that what you really are looking for are particle tutorials. Then you may discover particles are really complex. Really. Isn't there an easier way?
CC Particle Systems II, under Simulations, will create sparkle particles from within a shape.

There are also brushes included in PSE10:
The effect on the photo left is the Assorted Brushes...Crosshatch 4 (#48) clicked once with the default settings, then changed the angle to 56d and clicked again.
The effect on the photo right is the Assorted Brushes...Starburst Large with its size increased to 119pixels.  Without moving the cursor, increase the opacity of the effect by clicking again....

  • Can you create the Title effect in Daybreakers, adobe after effects cs4,,please take this one as cha

im currently studying Adobe After Effects CS4, and i found the title of DAYBREAKER(2009)movie a very interesting effect to create, i hope you can give me tutorials on how to do that..please! more power, NOTE: im using adobe after effects cs4

From what I saw on the trailer for this film the titles are a modified version of George Peolvoy's Flowing Title tutorial posted on Creative Cow about 10 years ago. You'll find the tutorial here.
The glass effect on the type can be duplicated using layer effects in Photoshop and / or then applying those layer effects to your type layer directly in AE. You'll find a bunch of those tutorials by doing a simple Google search for Glass Text Photoshop.
There is no one click, one plug-in solution, but if you integrate the layer effects, a displacement map, some compound blur, and a little position keyframing + motion blur you should be able to duplicate the effect exactly. George's tutorial should get you started. If I remember right the project files were for AE 4.1 so they probably won't open in CS4.
    Good luck

  • How to create this scale effect/3D?

I want to create an effect similar to what can be seen in the following video where the subject slowly scales up creating a 3D effect:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nH45OSmzY8
I'm guessing that the subject is just masked out of the photo in Photoshop and placed on a new layer, brought into Premiere and the subject layer is just scaled up? Is there anything else?
Any other tips for doing this?
    Thanks.

  • How to create shiny/mirror effect with a background.

HI there we have been trying to create a shiny effect and
    found the following tutorial.
    http://www.fireworkszone.com/redirectionNbClicks.php?root=2&idLogiciel=4&idTutorial=371
The only problem we have is that we have a textured
background and the tutorial talks about having a colored background
    with not texture.
When we create the shiny effect you can see the white or
    black that fades.
    Any suggestions?.

To create a user defined member, in the Hierarchy editor on the bottom right of the screen there is an add buton, if you click on it, you will get a list. Included in the list are user defined child and user defined sibling. These create user defined members. Don't worry that the binding says unspecified. When you save the hierarchy, it will change it will change to be a text value equal to the name you gave the member. To get the members you want to put under that member, I find it easiest to create a Dimension element that has filtering to get select the I need for example if I create a user defined member called diet drinks. I'll create a Dimension member called diet skus that has a filter to select skus where the alias contains the word diet. I'll put that member under my diet drinks member. Whil it might be a little late for you. The Essbase Studio book I'm working on will be available late this week. It has examples of what you are asking about.

  • Create a similar effect like this one

I need to create a similar effect as in this link I provided.
    Basically want
movement, a light flash or a little spark every once in a
    while. Maybe
someone can point me to a similar tutorial or something. My
    thought is to
have a subtle effect in the background of my site to give it
    a little flare.

I would not waste time using AI 3D tools to accomplish this effect. It is 1 point perspective. Start with your front text, establish a horizon  line and vanishing point, scale and duplicate the text using the vanishing point as your center of scaling, then connect the points to create the "extruded effect" between the to sets of text. You can outline the text to accomplish this.
For the reflected text, as John suggested, duplicate your text and distort it. Read about "Envelope Distortion" meshes. These will keep your distorted text fully editable, if that is a concern.

  • Can I create this particular effect in FCE HD?

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a certain effect in Final Cut Express HD and I have no idea how to do it or if it is possible.
I need to highlight a certain part of a clip. Say for example you are looking at a crowd of people on a screen and a particular person is singled out and highlighted with a cirle - in effect dimming the rest of the scene...this is the effect I want to create.
If this is not possible, is there a way that I can use graphics to have an arrow pointing to that person in the scene...?
    Look forward to your assistance
    Kind Regards

It is reasonably easy to achieve. Basically it is like blurring out a face but in your case lightening it.
In this link you will find a tutorial called "Cops" which you can watch as it is explained. All you have to do is use the brightness control instead of the Gaussian Blur.

  • Creating Page Turn effect

Sorry if this is a super basic question, but I'm learning, and I'm stuck.
I want to create the effect of a page turning. From going through the tutorial, I think I should use the 3-D Filter. What i can't figure out is how to create the "curl" effect of a page turning. Is this another filter? Or a behavior?
    Any tips GREATLY appreciated.
    Julie

    Julie,
Motion will allow you to load a host of 3rd party filters in addition to the limited set provided by the software. I've loaded Boris filters and they work fine in Motion. CGM has a nice set of filters that include page turns which may work for you. You might be able to find some freeware filters floating around, too. Not all are compatible, but if the work in FCP, there's a good chance they'll work in Motion. Load your favorite filters folder in Motion's preferences pane. Once loaded, go to the 3rd party plug-ins in the browser (it's at the top of the list). Drop the filter on your layers just like you would a behavior. Open your inspector and have at it! Hope this helps. . .

  • How do I create this particle effect?

I am pretty new to After Effects and I'm getting to grips with all the particle effects and have managed to create some cool looking animations, but I'm trying to create the particle effect as seen in the image link below. Can anyone tell me how this is done, and what plug-in (if any) would be used to create something like this? I can't get anything I do to look like this. Thanks...
    http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/5001/particleskf1.jpg

Create the custom particle in Photoshop or a separate comp. Drag the custom particle into your main comp, turn its visibility off, set Particular's particle setting to "Custom Particle", and choose the new layer as the source.
Create a camera for the comp and turn on "Depth of field". Experiment with the settings until you get the desired effect.
Personally, I'd use two Particular layers for that look, one for the larger particles and another for the smaller ones.

  • Creating an infinity effect

I'm trying to create an infinity effect with my background layers and have no idea how to do it. My animation is reasonably simple...a camera tracks into a text layer. I have placed two gradient layers in the background as a floor and a wall. The floor has a rotation of 0 degrees and the wall is minus 90. My problem is that where both layers join there is a dark line and I want it to appear seamless. Does anyone know a way around this?

Everything I tried left a fairly defined horizon line, except for one:
Use the same gradient for the floor as you did for the back, and reverse it's order so that the two edges match at the same color (you can manipulate the floor gradient afterwards to change in the direction of the viewer.)
Easiest thing to do is create the back wall; create the gradient effect. Set the Anchor Point at the bottom edge. Duplicate the wall. Rotate the floor 90 degrees on X. Position in space; scale accordingly.
Go back into the floor shape gradient and change as needed – anything but the edge color that contacts the back.
You can't use a light. So fake one. You can add an oval shape behind the main subject - large feather value - a color blend mode like Add (turn down opacity to taste.) You can use a Reflection on the floor.
The effect will be seemless... but also a lot more work achieving a balance.

  • How to create the droste effect in photoshop cc 2014?

In the past you could use pixel bender to create the droste effect, that is what I have found out from the internet.
But how to create that effect today seams non existent on the net!
    Can any one help?
    KR,
    AJ

Right.  Pixel Bender is gone.  It was an experimental filter available from Adobe Labs but never made it into an actual product release. As of CS6, Oil Paint filter was introduced.  It's not the same thing but more like a shaved down version of Pixel Bender.
Look at Filter Forge.  They offer a 30-day trial.  Disclaimer:  I've never used it myself.

  • FW8 Can't Seem To Create Disjoint Rollover Effect

    Hello,
I used previous versions of FW to create "disjoint rollover"
effects without any problem. This time I'm using FW8 to create the
same effect but so far it has proved unsuccessful, I have even
tried the step by step instruction of "help" menu with no success.
Can somebody pease help me with how to achieve this effect
with FW8 if it is possible.
    Many thanks in advance!
