Hi all,

I've seen a lot of comparisons between both OBIEE 10g and 11g.

RPD metadata-wise there's no real difference. Target Levels, Qualified List Items, List Catalogs, Conformed Dimension Links. That's about it. Just checked it against the Siebel Analytics 7.7 content from 2004 last week and it hasn't really moved.
Siebel-side I can't give you an exhaustive answer though, sorry.

General question about Marketing Module (OBIEE)

Hi.
I'm trying to deploy OBI Marketing functionality integrated with Oracle Siebel CRM.
I have set up sample preconfigured rpd and marketing data, provided by Oracle:
+>EnterpriseBusinessAnalytics.zip+
+>OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd+
The point is that in preconfigured rpd all Qualified List Items use Oracle Data Warehouse Connection Pool. But in my case I do not have ODW deployed. I have only one data source - Siebel CRM DB.
And My question is..
What is the most popular practise when deploying Siebel Marketing Module (OBI)? How do you decide whether to use preconfigured rpd or to deploy your own one when deploy siebel marketing functionaluty? And how much is it performable to use preconfigured repository and metadata? Is it always applicable to use it?

You want to run Segmentation against the OLTP tables? Impressive! Make sure you have a good explanation for the CRM guys for every time their database dies.
The most popular practice is to actually use an analysis-oriented database rather than a transactional one. Parsing a couple of million S_CAMP_CON records with an 8KB blocksize isn't fun.
The decision between preconfigured and custom rpd boils down to this: how much of the standard functionality are you actually using and how much has been customized? If your segmentation criteria don't match the ones inthe preconfigured rpd at all, then you'll need to add to it or just drop it if you really have nothing in common with the OOB one.
That said...there's still the DWH part. And there I really wouldn't suggest building your WH from scratch. Add to the existing, modify it etc.

Can anyone guide me to urls and pricing between MS Dynamics CRM Marketing Module & MS Dynamics Marketing in terms of pricing and features?
If i already have MS Dynamics CRM 2013 (Online & on-premise), does it include the MS Dynamics Marketing features?

(This is a Z table used in a leading ISU SAP-CRM implementation. You can give the table SAP0090 this is a standard table. in general all condition tables have the naming convention CNCC*)

IBot for cacheing purpose??

Hi friends,
Some of my reports takes about 4 minutes to generate which has about a million records.
how can I speed up the process using ibots?
I've already created ibot and scheduled it early in the morning.
Still there is not significant improvement. Do I need to set up something else? Please send me some of the blog links.

First of all, a report with 1 million records is not a report, it is a data dump. When you want to have a data dump of 1 million records, it is not recommended to use Answers; your internet browser (IE or Firefox) will become the bottleneck since it cannot render that many data that fast.
If you want to export 1 million records, I would suggest to create an ODBC connection with the Oracle BI Server. You can also try to generate a file export using the marketing module within OBIEE: http://siebel-essentials.blogspot.com/2008/09/marketing-segmentation-file-export-and.html.

OBIEE 11g cannot run marketing segmentation

I found that OBIEE 11g has bugs when running marketing segmentation. I have configured the segmentation as it was in 10g but still got error when I tried to create a segment. Can anyone knows how to make it work? Does anybody successfully run marketing segmentation in OBIEE 11g? Please help!

Advice needed-OBIEE modules

Hi all,
I am an EPM/BI consultant with most of my experience in the Hyperion-EPM side.
I have worked for several years in the DW domain.
I am also experienced with some of the OBIEE modules-Interactive reporting and web analysis.
I wish to educate/certify myself in OBIEE.With that said, what are the main modules in OBIEE?There seems to be a lot, and it is very confusing looking at all the courses available, and the certification tracks.
I am not looking for a list of courses/training available. I already have looked that up.
I need to know which OBIEE modules are the most widely used, and which are the least etc.

You must be talking about OBI Apps which has modules like Financial Analytics, HR Analytics, SCM etc...
This depends across industry vertical...abt the module to be used. You can pick up Financials to startwith

hi prakesh,
firstly, cic winclient is an older version and obsolete so its better to implement the new crm version.
secondly, in any case if you want to implement, then your 3rd party raw data has to be mapped with the SAP system which could be a problem. Middleware could be a lot of effort. Rest all depends on how much customization you need for your business requirement in cic and sales. In case you are implementing standard functionality mostly then no major complications are expected otherwise lot of development effort may be required.

Memory modules for Msi Big Bang trinergy

i want to buy some memory modules for my trinergy mobo because the ones i had earlier also proved to be incompatible. I would like to ask you if there are any memory modules besides the ones recommended from the MSI site concerning my mobo. I am looking for a 2x2 gb ram kit with a heat dispenser so it can work around 1600mHz. Thank you in advance
P.S Is the list on the site the only one? i mean are there any updated versions of it with more high end memory modules tested?

From a memory perspective, the reason these modules have heatspreaders is mostly due to marketing and to impress the potential buyers. The secondary reason is that most manufacturers sell you overvolted and overclocked 1066 or 1333 chips on a 1600 marketed module that needs 1,65V instead of the standard 1,5V. Your memory controller is part of the CPU and natively only supports 1333 at 1,5V.
If you really insist, then at least get yourself a 1600 kit that does this speed at 1,5V. One of the modules that seem to work well are the CMZ4GX3M2A1600C9 from Corsair. From a user perspective, the mem modules from Crucial that you see in my signature come highly recommended as they have been proven to work on the P55 platform whenever used.

Integrating fpga module with standard block diagram

I'm doing an FTIR multitouch table, and I would like to be able to track blobs using LabVIEW then transfer this data to a Spartan 3e FPGA. I have seen the tutorials on how to program the Spartan 3e and have direct communication with LabVIEW, but can I also run image processing via USB-IMAQ VIs in the same block diagram? Basically I need to get coordinate data from the blobs (touch points on the screen) and transfer this data to an FPGA which will act as a primitive graphics card. Any ideas are appreciated.

Hello! You should be able to use your Host VI to talk to Both the FPGA and the USB-IMAQ devices. You would just have two loops running at the same time, one for each device's communication. To pass data between the loops (from the vision to the FPGA) you could use a Consumer Producer Architecture.

Oracle Marketing online( Web pages are not opening)

Hello all,
I have got 11i installed on my machine. Application is running fine. I was trying my hand on Oracle marketing module and also CRM Administration modules.
I don't know what's going wrong the web pages are not opening ( Web page not found offline) error is appearing.
Infact all functions of Oracle Marketing Super user have they type selected as JSP.
I am unable to resolve this problem. Can some please help me.
