Unfortunately, that is fairly old and doesn't cover any of the editing features. More tutorials would be a great idea: Thanks for the suggestion. As for changing the color and size of a freehand drawing, please tap on the drawing. This should show a menu from which you can choose "Delete, Thickness, Color, Opacity". Once chosen, we will remember your choice for subsequent drawings. Hope this helps!

Recommended tutorials for using paths/vector art in Photoshop?

Hi all!
Can you recommend any good tutorials for using paths/vector art in Photoshop?
Honestly, I've had a good look for even one - without much success.
I Have lots of experience with paths/vector art in Illustrator, Fireworks and InDesign but I believe you really can do great things with them in Photoshop now for illustration work.
i'm just baffled by it. I can fill and stroke and edit a vector shape in PS - but if I custom DRAW a vector path or shape, things get confusing!
Hoping someone can point me in a helpful direction

I wouldn't claim to know everything there is to know, but I'm reasonably certain it hasn't changed.
Are the 'shapes' just vector masks with a raster element inside?
Yes. That's an accurate enough description.
And if you apply a colour to a path that you've drawn - does it rasterise?
It doesn't have to rasterize. If you see color, it's pixels.
I was definitely of the impression that a lot more could be done in PS these days that might formerly have been done in ILLUSTRATOR.
The shape/path tools in Photoshop have been enhanced and improved in recent years, but the product of their use still differs from Illustrator's true vector output.

How to use the same element in different photoshop files?

It occurs to me often that I use the same element in different photoshop files, a header or footer shown in the example below. So when the footer changes in one document, I need to change this footer in every other single document.
Is there a possibility to use some kind of template, one single document, that can be placed in different files , which is still editable afterwards?

I'm using Photoshop CS6

In a single document you can have several pages and these pages may have headers and footers that share smart objects. If you replace the contents of the an embedded smart object on one page page that is shared on an other page the pages you will see both pages contents are changed. For they share the common object. It is also possibly to have independent smart object layers. It depends how you create the layers in the single document.
Example one sharing a smart object hi-light a smart object layer and use menu layer>Duplicate Layer... This will create a second smart object layer that share a common smart object. Each layer has is own associated transform. Do it again and you will have three layers the share a common smart object. So you can use each layer associated transform to position and size the layers contents. Make a picture package for example. When you hi-light any of the three smart layers and you use menu Layer>Smart Objects>Replace Contents... all three layers contents will be replace with the new smart object. Care must be taken to replace the smart object with an identical size object for only the object is replaced the three associated transform for the three layers are not replaced or changed.
Example two independent smart objects hi-light a smart object layer and use menu layer>Smart Objects>New Smart Object via Copy. This will create a second smart object layer that has it own embedded smart object copy. Do it again and you will have three all have independent embedded smart object that are identical. However they do not have to remain identical. For example if the first smart object layer was created by using ACR to open a RAW file as a smart object layer the embedded object is a copy of the raw file and its associated RAW conversion settings. Double clicking on one of the smart object layers and you will see ACR open on its embedded RAW file with the embedded RAW conversion setting. Changing these settings will update the layer smart object content with new ACR setting and pixel when you click OK in ACR. Repeat for the third and you will find you have three different raw conversions in Photoshop you can mask and blend together to bring out detail.
I think what your missing is that a smart object contains a copy of the original object. Changing the original after creating a smart object layer in document will not effect the smart object layer at all. Its independant from the original having a copy of the original. Only changes to the smart object layer and its embedded smart object effect smart object layers.

I have been able to get the value of a container element by using the macro 'swc_get_element' .I have used it in the method of my task and saved the value in a z-table. For this I have set the 'Export' property of that particular container elemnt .Now my problem is I want a second container element to be stored in the database , I have set its 'Export' property , but inspite of that it is not visible in the task container. As a result I am not able to access it from inside my method and unable to save it in the z-table. So please give me some solution.

Backend dump CX_WD_GENERAL when using the UI element ' 'ThresholdSlider'.

Hi Guys
I am using the UI element 'ThresholdSlider' in my application and its working fine from front end. However it gives a Runtime Error: UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION with exception CX_WD_GENERAL when ever the user tries to drags the slider to chaneg the value. This does not happen if the user clicks on the slider to change the value.
As I said, the user do not face any issues in using the UI element/application. However, it gives a backend dump every time he drags the slider.
Can you please help me resolve this issue?

The Corrections for unified rendering rendering notes are large because they are collective notes that correct all known issues in the rendering. When you load these notes they replace all the Unified Rendering files (all CSS and JavaScript) for all UI elements. Although you may be looking to only fix one relatively small error, it necessitates that the entire JavaScript library be kept in sync.

Actually this particluar UI element was new in ERP Enhancement Package 4 (NetWeaver 7.01). But as explained above, the size and complexity of the note in question isn't related to this one particluar issue alone, but becuase the fix is a collective one.

What is the best practice for using the Calendar control with the Dispatcher?

It seems as if the Dispatcher is restricting access to the Query Builder (/bin/querybuilder.json) as a best practice regarding security. However, the Calendar relies on this endpoint to build the events for the calendar. On Author / Publish this works fine but once we place the Dispatcher in front, the Calendar no longer works. We've noticed the same behavior on the Geometrixx site.
What is the best practice for using the Calendar control with Dispatcher?

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear the Site Preferences
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
If you have software like Advanced SystemCare (Surfing Protection feature) that might reset some files to older versions to protect these files against changes then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine. Do we need a ODI full installation(both server and client) for using the Startscen command or just the client install should be enough. And also do we need a ODI agent to be configured and running for using this StartScen command

ODI client is an agent.
So you don't need to declare one more if not needed on your infrastructure.
But to run odistartscen you need to configure the odiparams.bat with your repository connexion.
If not it will try to connect by default to the demo repostory on HSQL.

If you need to configure dynamic pricing that may vary by tenant and/or if you want to set up cost drivers that are service item attributes, you should configure Billing Tables in the Demand Management module in 10.0.
The cost detail functionality in 9.4 will likely be changed to merged with the new pricing feature in 10.0. The current plan is not to bring cost detail into the Service Catalog module.

Best practices for using the 'cost details' fields

Please could you advise us to the best practices for using the 'cost details' field within Pricing. Currently I cannot find the way to surface the individual Cost Details fields within the Next Generation UI, even with the tick box for 'display both cost and price' ticked. It seems that these get surfaced when the Next Generation UI is turned off, but cannot find them when it is turned on. We can see the 'Pricing Summary' field but this does not fulfill our needs, as some of our services have both recurring and one-off costs.
Attached are some screenshots to further explain the situation.
