Hi All,
The below mentioned link has webdynpro turorials but except for 1 and 2 the others fail to open. Can any one let me know if these can be found at any other alternate link ?

Best Practice for link to WebdynPro page in welcome page

Hi Experts,
I am new in SAP Portal. I need some guidance from you guys. I have a requirement to create welcome page which is JSP and has a link to a WebdynPro page. I have to put the url in JSP file. So i do not know what kind of URL i should put in the JSP.
The problem is if i put the url which i can see in the address bar like 'http://DevServer/WebDynPro/ApplcationA', when i transport it to another server ,for example Production,. The real url might be change to 'http://ProdServer/WebDynPro/ApplcationA'. It may cause the link in JSP can not be worked.
I would like to ask you the best practice for this case. What url? What configuration?

You can do it with multiple ways like :-
1. Get the current host name and make complete URL with using host name for the webdynpro iview.
request = (IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
HttpServletRequest req = request.getServletRequest();
StringBuffer strURL = req.getRequestURL();
2. Create the KM Document or Link for webdynpro Iview OR Create the WPC Web Page for the webdynpro ivew

Thanks for your replay, i am using " NW711 CE SP03 MIN " for the development, i followed the bellow link

i did not get the option FlashIsland under (RootElement ->Replace with->) option. i saw in some posts that NW711 CE supports Flash Islands, do i need to add any plugins for that ?

Is there a link for older sun java tutorials?

Is there any link or archive of older sun java tutorials? For instance, I saw in the Swing tutorial a section on concurrency in Swing, but it references SwingWorker which is only in java 6 & I use java 5.

E-Recruiting EHP4 WebDynpro link for create internal application and portal

Hallo there,
we have installed ehp4 with web Dynpro and I am searching the link for creating an *internal* application.
The external Aplication I found in the se80 ERC_C_APPL_MGMT_UI. But this link is only for external applications.
The other Links I try to find is for the portal. I need it in the ESS and the MSS.
I didn't find them in the package PAOC_RCF_UI_SELF_SERVICES.

For creating manual internal and external applications, the WebDynpro application is the same - ERC_A_APPL_MGMT. The component is the same ERC_C_APPL_MGMT_UI as you have said in your e-mail. In this component you can also check the view V_APPL_DATA and see that both fields for internal and external are available. The fields are determined at runtime based on whether you have selected 'Internal' or 'External' link in the portal. In the recruiter portal role, when configuring the pages for internal or external you use Application Parameter IS_INTERNAL. If IS_INTERNAL=X then this parameter will be passed to the component mentioned above and the system will know that it should display internal candidate fields. If IS_INTERNAL=' ' then system will display for external and this is the default.
You can click package PAOC_RCF_WD_UI > Web Dynpro > Web Dynpro Applicat and right click ERC_A_APPL_MGMT to test. When the page opens, you can add parameter &IS_INTERNAL=X to the URL and you will see it will change to internal application page.

The designers of WDA didn't want to lock developers into having to create an extra model layer. One of the values of WDA is that it sits closely with the underlying business logic and data. Therefore it can easily reuse existing function modules or classes (or even contain SQL directly - although this isn't recommended).
There are different options for playing the role of model. You could create a faceless web dynpro component. This is sometimes used in large complex Floorplan Manager applications. However the cross-component context binding can represent a performance problem.
More often a class is used as a simple model. These are called feeder classes in POWL. But really any ABAP class can be used to separate out the logic for the model. Data from this class can be accessed and then bound to the local context. Sometimes people use the Assistance Class as a model. It is possible to share a single instance of an assistance class between a hierarchy of components - making it an efficient way to share data.
Of course there are the service call wizards. These aren't really models like in WDJ. Instead they are just shortcuts to generate context structures and code generators. However everything they generate can also be created by hand or altered after generation.

Web Dynpro for ABAP - Getting Started
Web Dynpro for ABAP is SAPs new standard UI technology for developing user interfaces in the ABAP environment. In the long term Web Dynpro for ABAP will be the successor of the traditional screen (Dynpro) based user interface technology which is based on the SAP GUI. Available with NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) Web Dynpro for ABAP provides the same declarative UI development paradigm as Web Dynpro for Java directly out of the NetWeaver ABAP Application Server. Web Dynpro for ABAP allows the development of user interfaces directly within the ABAP Workbench (SE80) and the Web Dynpro runtime environment is a central part of the ABAP server and can be used in any SAP solution based on NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) without the need of an additional server installation.
Web Dynpro for ABAP allows the development of user interfaces in a declarative way by providing a mighty framework which abstracts the rendering technology from the core UI definition tasks. Implementing the event handlers and controller methods.
Without making any assumption about the used rendering technology, like which browser should be supported or if the Web Dynpro application will be later displayed in a web browser via HTML at all or in another kind of client with completely different rendering capabilities.
The Web Dynpro Frameworks provides all important UI features directly out of the box:
All elements (tables, buttons, trees, dropdown list boxes, etc) necessary for state of the art user interfaces are provided by the Web Dynpro Framework in the form of predefined UI element libraries.
Complex features and behavior of UI elements.
Internationalization of the UI. All visible strings in a Web Dynpro ABAP UI are handled by the translation system and are translated in the same translation environment like other ABAP language dependent resources. All texts are displayed automatically at runtime, dependent of the users credentials.
Accessibility features are directly built into the framework and UI elements.
A unified rendering engine generates at runtime the data which is sent to the specific client application, which is not limited to browsers but includes the NetWeaver Business Client.
All this is available in the established environment of the ABAP application server and well known capabilities like the transportation and change management system, security environment, test and performance analysis tools or remote debugging can be used like in common ABAP development.

BADIs
Business add-ins are enhancements to the standard version of the system.
Business Add-In is a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects.
They can be inserted into the SAP system based on specific user requirements.
Each Business Add-In has:
at least one Business Add-In definition
a Business Add-In interface
a Business Add-In class that implements the interface
In order to enhance a program, a Business Add-In must first be defined
Subsequently two classes are automatically generated:
An interface with IF_EX_ inserted between the first and second characters of the BADI name.
An adapter class with CL_EX_ inserted between the first and second characters of the BADI name.
The Application developer creates an interface for this Add-In.
There are multiple ways of searching for BADI.
Finding BADI Using CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE
Finding BADI Using SQL Trace (TCODE-ST05).
Finding BADI Using Repository Information System (TCODE- SE84).
1. Go to the Transaction, for which we want to find the BADI, take the example of Transaction VD02. Click on System->Status. Double click on the program name. Once inside the program search for CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE.
Make sure the radio button In main program is checked. A list of all the programs with call to the BADIs will be listed.
The export parameter EXIT_NAME for the method GET_INSTANCE of class CL_EXITHANDLER will have the user exit assigned to it. The changing parameter INSTANCE will have the interface assigned to it. Double click on the method to enter the source code.Definition of Instance would give you the Interface name.
2. Start transaction ST05 (Performance Analysis).
Set flag field "Buffer trace"
Remark: We need to trace also the buffer calls, because BADI database tables are buffered. (Especially view V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT)
Push the button "Activate Trace". Start transaction VA02 in a new GUI session. Go back to the Performance trace session.
Push the button "Deactivate Trace".
Push the button "Display Trace".
The popup screen "Set Restrictions for Displaying Trace" appears.
Now, filter the trace on Objects:
V_EXT_IMP
V_EXT_ACT
Push button "Multiple selections" button behind field Objects
Fill: V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT
All the interface class names of view V_EXT_IMP start with IF_EX_. This is the standard SAP prefix for BADI class interfaces. The BADI name is after the IF_EX_.
So the BADI name of IF_EX_CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA is CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA
3. Go to Maintain Transaction (TCODE- SE93).
Enter the Transaction VD02 for which you want to find BADI.
Click on the Display push buttons.
Get the Package Name. (Package VS in this case)
Go to TCode: SE84->Enhancements->Business Add-inns->Definition
Enter the Package Name and Execute.
Here you get a list of all the Enhancement BADIs for the given package MB.

Document url link on webdynpro iview

Dear All
We have developed custom webdynpro ivew.
Assigned that ivew to page and can display in ESS submenu.
and one more km doc iview is there for document disply.
But requirement is when enduser access webdynpro ivew , in the same page there should be one link
If enduser wants to download that document he has to use that link. becuse that doc is relavant to that iview.
How can we do or organize this page.
Please help .

Create a model for WebDynpro

Hello everybody:
I have created the navigation view for an application, with all the fields and stuff. However, I do need Database access (it's some kind of a school management system) for normal things such as login, etc.
I've learned that for linking a WebDynpro app and database (model) EJB are the way to go. However I find it way to "square", after reading the "Car Rental" tutorial. I doesn't leave much room for changes and it requires the web service to be perfect and then be imported for my model... is there another way to link or to create a model?.... I don't want to "Import" the model, but create it.
