Tuxedo 10gr3 sample applications
Hi,
I installed the 10g Tuxedo installer on both linux and windows but I can't seem to find the samples directory in either.
I am trying to run the bankapp sample program but without the source it may be tricky:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13161_01/tuxedo/docs10gr3/tutor/tutba.html
Hope you can help!
Tom
Hi Tom,
I encountered the same problem - have a look at this thread: Where can I find the simpapp samples in 10gr3? You will need to re-install and keep an eye out for the checkbox on the "Choose Product Directory" screen, just above the Next button.
Regards,
Malcolm.

The .sca-file can be found on the sap service marketplace, afterwards you need to import the .sca-file, add the SC to your "MyComponents" and then you can select your necessary DC's. -

Magesh,
As I already posted, you need a C compiler installed.buildclient
merely invoke the system compiler.

Three steps to solve this problem:
1. Set the LANG environment variable: set LANG=English_United
States.1252;
2. In the tuxedo directory Tuxedo\locale, make a new directory named
English_United States.1252;
3. Copy all files in diirectory Tuxedo\locale\C into the newdirectory.

To The JDeveloper Team
i developed an application to do basic authentication with the Database using a JSP. i was able to sign in proper but when i sign out of the application , i can't sign out ie the session variables are not clearing out and then i went to ur sample application and test it , it also works the same way ie it doesn't clear the session variables. Can u refer it and give me a suggestion. If u want to know the exact problem this is it.
U have a sign-in url in ur auctions application . After u sign-in ,it is converted in Signout url . But if i click on it , it does show the sign-in but shows the sign out only.
nullAirton,
Before running bankapp, you must set the BLKSIZE parameter in the bankvar
file to a multiple of the machine file.
The README file explains how to set BLKSIZE.
For HP-UX, BLKSIZE must be set to 1024 or to a multiple of 1024.

Tuxedo 10gR3 : failover/failback.
Hello,
I need informations to engage failover/failback system with Tuxedo 10gR3 and dispachers system.
In the SI, we've implemented 2 dispachers system to communicate with 2 centrals servers. I want to implement failover/failback system on 2 dispachers to have an automatic switch between the both centrals servers.
I know that i've to configurate under DMCONFIG the both RACCESPOINT in DM_IMPORT section for every service. But i've others questions about the system :
- what are all the reasons for a failover ? (just network's pb or the failover appears when my tuxedo application isn't boot on my primary server - it's that i want- ?)
- in case of failback, there's a possibility to configure a manual recovery on the first RDOM ? I don't want to have unstable system with round trip and so, i want to have the possibility to initiate the recovery on primary server when i'm sure that this one is enduring)
Thanks for yours answers, it's important.
And final, do anyone can explain me the failover/failback system more than edocs to be sure that is ok to reply to my pb ?
Regards.Hi Gabriel,
The major differences between ON_DEMAND and ON_STARTUP are:
<li>When the link between the domains is established, which was probably obvious
<li>When the imported services are advertised as available by the domain gateway, a little less obvious. When using ON_DEMAND, the services imported from the remote domain are advertised to the local domain when the domain gateway starts up. Thus the services show up in the bulletin board even though they may not be accessible because there is no connection yet to the remote domain. The domain gateway really has little other choice as there would be no way to determine "demand" unless it advertises the service and some client/server calls the service. When using ON_STARTUP, the domain gateway waits to advertise the imported services until the link to the remote domain is established. But is still possible to get errors as the servers on the remote domain that normally offer the service may not be running.
I see little risk in changing to ON_STARTUP. A good practice is to boot at least one copy of all application servers before booting any gateways or listeners to prevent giving the appearence that services are available when in fact they're not. The only other major difference is that you'll have connections up all the time between the domains, but presumably that shouldn't be a problem.
You should be able to run safely active/active assuming your services are truly stateless. If the services are stateless, you could potentially use the upcoming client server affininity feature to help alleviate the problem of getting back to the same state. One thing to keep in mind when dealing with a database (Oracle or other) is that if you are using XA transactions, you need to be aware that the transactions will be loosely coupled. This means that if you start a transaction on node A and the transaction is extended to node B, the locks held by the servers on node A will not be seen as locks held by the distributed transaction on node B. The transaction will still exhibit ACID properties, i.e., all pieces commit together, but the locks could potentially interfere with one another.
When you say failover/fallback and context, I'm not sure what context you are referring to. If you are referring to database context such as cursors and the like, then the answer is likely no, as each Tuxedo server will have its own connection to the database and when you failover to another server, you'll be using a different connection. What sort of context are you worried about?

SSO java sample application problem
Hi all,
I am trying to run the SSO java sample application, but am experiencing a problem:
When I request the papp.jsp page I end up in an infinte loop, caught between papp.jsp and ssosignon.jsp.
An earlier thread in this forum discussed the same problem, guessing that the cookie handling was the problem. This thread recommended a particlar servlet , ShowCookie, for inspecting the cookies for the current session.
I have installed this cookie on the server, but don't see anything but one cookie, JSESSIONID.
At present I am running the jsp sample app on a Tomcat server, while Oracle 9iAS with sso and portal is running on another machine on the LAN.
The configuration of the SSO sample application is as follows:
Cut from SSOEnablerJspBean.java:
// Listener token for this partner application name
private static String m_listenerToken = "wmli007251:8080";
// Partner application session cookie name
private static String m_cookieName = "SSO_PAPP_JSP_ID";
// Partner application session domain
private static String m_cookieDomain = "wmli007251:8080/";
// Partner application session path scope
private static String m_cookiePath = "/";
// Host name of the database
private static String m_dbHostName = "wmsi001370";
// Port for database
private static String m_dbPort = "1521";
// Sehema name
private static String m_dbSchemaName = "testpartnerapp";
// Schema password
private static String m_dbSchemaPasswd = "testpartnerapp";
// Database SID name
private static String m_dbSID = "IASDB.WMDATA.DK";
// Requested URL (User requested page)
private static String m_requestUrl = "http://wmli007251:8080/testsso/papp.jsp";
// Cancel URL(Home page for this application which don't require authentication)
private static String m_cancelUrl = "http://wmli007251:8080/testsso/fejl.html";
Values specified in the Oracle Portal partner app administration page:
ID: 1326
Token: O87JOE971326
Encryption key: 67854625C8B9BE96
Logon-URL: http://wmsi001370:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login
single signoff-URL: http://wmsi001370:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_logout
Name: testsso
Start-URL: http://wmli007251:8080/testsso/
Succes-URL: http://wmli007251:8080/testsso/ssosignon.jsp
Log off-URL: http://wmli007251:8080/testsso/papplogoff.jsp
Finally I have specified the cookie version to be v1.0 when running the regapp.sql script. Other parameters for this script are copied from the values specified above.
Unfortunately the discussion in the earlier thread did not go any further but to recognize the cookieproblem, so I am now looking for help to move further on from here.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!
/MadsPierre - When you work on the sample application, you should test the pages in a separate browser instance. Don't use the Run Page links from the Builder. The sample app has a different authentication scheme from that used in the development environment so it'll work better for you to use a separate development browser from the application testing browser. In the testing browser, to request the page you just modified, login to the application, then change the page ID in the URL. Then put some navigation controls into the application so you can run your page more easily by clicking links from other pages.

Beginner Question - Help Needed for EJB QL Sample Application
I'm working with a group of student interns, like myself, and we've been given an assignment to work with Oracle. All of us have no training or experience with this, so we're just learning as we go.
I've been trying to run the EJB QL Sample Application (http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/ejb_corba/ejbql/Install.html), but I keep running into problems at step 3.
Now, we will deploy the sample application onto OC4J. Open another command prompt and go to the folder <OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home and run the following commands one-by-one
> java -jar admin.jar ormi://<machine_name>:<admin_port> admin <admin_pwd> -deploy -file <SAMPLE_HOME>/build/ejbql.ear -deploymentName Ejbql
> java -jar admin.jar ormi://<machine_name>:<admin_port> admin <admin_pwd> -bindWebApp Ejbql ejbql-war http-web-site /ejbql
where,
<machine_name> Name of the machine where OC4J Server is running
<admin_port> Admin Port on which the OC4J server listens. This value by default is 23791 unless explicitly changed by the user
<admin_pwd> Adminstrator password to access OC4J. The default value is welcome
When I do this step I get this error:

Thanks in advance for any help.George,
The Readme.html file is available with the ejbqlsample.jar downloadable (Extract and find the doc in Ejbql\docs\Readme.html) which is printable.
Or,
If you are trying to print the file directly from OTN site, you need to set the Page-Setup Orientation to 'Landscape'.
Hope this helps.

SSO SDK Java Sample Application
I have configured the sample application (servlet-based), shown in SSO SDK Developer guide.
I followed all the steps very carefully. When I try to access the partner application, it redirect me to
the login form of the Login Server, and then loop between the sign-on URL and the requested URL.
It seems that the cookie with the user name is lost during redirection. The readme file refers that in a case like this I should check the value of the application cookie domain.
I am running the sample in a single pc environment and my server name is localhost. Which is the right value for the application cookie domain (localhost, .localhost ?????).
In addition, my cookie path value is "/".
Thanks in advance.This problem is their in the early version of SDK.
The latest version has correct comparison with null -
Hi,
I am trying to run the sample application Hrs. After I completed the installation instructions, when I try to run the MainPage.jsp, I get an error message:
Unable to find class for bean: hrsBean defined by tag with class: HotelBean
I am getting the same message, when I try to run the Jdbc sample also. The difference here is that the name of the class not found is JdbcQueryBean.
Could you tell me what the problem is. I am running 9iAS on a Compaq Tru64 with 8.1.7 portal 3.0.6.6.5
Thanks
MuraliI apologize for posting this here. I am posting it on the OTN samples thread. Please reply there.

Hi
i was going through the sample application provided in the Sun's wireless toolkit 2.2 named WMADemo.
There is a midlet class in it named SMSReceive.java.
The code in its startApp() function is
public void startApp() {
/** SMS connection to be read. */
String smsConnection = "sms://:" + smsPort;
/** Open the message connection. */
if (smsconn == null) {
try {
smsconn = (MessageConnection) Connector.open(smsConnection);
smsconn.setMessageListener(this);
} catch (IOException ioe) {
ioe.printStackTrace();
/** Initialize the text if we were started manually. */
connections = PushRegistry.listConnections(true);
if (connections == null || connections.length == 0) {
content.setString("Waiting for SMS on port " + smsPort + "...");
done = false;
thread = new Thread(this);
thread.start();
display.setCurrent(resumeScreen);
Now what i want to ask is since they have already set message listener for the current message connection and have called thread.start() in the notifyIncomingMessage function then why the have called thread.start() in the startapp also.
Won't it unnecessarily block by calling receive() method even if there is no message to receive.
Can anybody help meHi
