Does anyone know a good website where you can find good, recent ty shows and movies that you can download to your ipod? Thanks

TV shows are copyrighted content, so you can't just go online and download them from a website (unless you find an illegal website). You could try the websites of networks that runs the shows. They might offer the videos, but it's not likely. They make money from the ads they sell while running them on TV.
For videos in general, there are lots of free video podcasts that will fill your little 'pod for you.

Need to get all the files, (well music and video), from my ipod touch 5th gen to my itunes libary. (So basically sync the other way to normal)
Laptop hard drive broke so had to buy a new one and obviously now need to sort out my itunes.
Did try downloading all my purchased stuff onto itunes but it has missed some things off, and there are some files I did not purchase from itunes so need a way of getting them back on there.
Sure this question has been asked a million times but can't find anything to help me on here so thought I'd ask.
-Did have a look at going onto the start menu and opening the hidden items thing but couldn't see any reference to ipod or device on it so wasn't sure how to do it that way.
-On itunes under my device when its connected, the section about manually restoring and backing up, would that help me? Because that says it will manually back up my ipod to my computer then could restore that back up, obviously I don't want to accidnetally get rid of everything on my ipod so didn't want to try that just in case without checking.
(And yes I have disabled auto sync to device when conncected!)
Can anyone help me please? Sorry if i've overcomplicated this!

Backing up an iOS device will copy some data to a backup file within iTunes, but this excludes all media. You can also transfer iTunes Store purchases from the iDevice to iTunes but, without using a third-party tool, nothing else. As long as you do not sync the iPod with your new library, the media that's on it will remain ... for as long as it keeps functioning, is not lost, stolen, eaten by the dog, ...
You may also have an option to recover your previous library from your old laptop; as long as its hard drive isn't fried, a computer repair store or technician may be able to extract the drive, mount it in an external enclosure, and copy your data to another PC. Whatever you choose, there is no real alternative to having all your media on your computer, managed by iTunes, and regularly backed up to another device/location.

You can't transfer music from an iPod to a PC. Apple do not provide that facility. It can be done with third party software though. There are a variety of these available though so search google for 'ipod to itunes'.

If you have a boot SSD, no way.
If you have a boot hard drive, not Filevaulted, you can STOP using the computer as it writes to the drive all the time.
You then have a choice of taking your computer to a local PC/Mac repair shop, and say you need "Data Rescue" to recover deleted files out of a deleted Guest Account, it will cost a few hundred dollars.
Or you can do it yourself, for a external hard drive (blank) and $100 Data Rescue type software.
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
When you install OS X on a external drive, you won't be booting into OS X that has the deleted files, just the Recovery HD partiton that's seperate.

The ipod is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.
The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

They're not lost, they simply don't show because you settings ask it not to.
Go to Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendar --> Calendar --> Sync --> All events

How do I get pictures and videos from my ipod touch to my mac pro without iphoto or image capture?

I have a lot of pictures and videos in my ipod touch and I want to put them into my mac book pro. But every time I connect my ipod to my mac, neither iphoto or image capture recognize my ipod. If anyone has a way to fix Iphoto or image capture or has a different way it would be greatly appreciated.

Rating Podcasts and Videos on the iPod

How does one rate Podcasts and Videos on the iPod. I can do it in iTunes but have not figured out how to do it on the iPod unless I first convert the file so that it appears to be an audiobook or music file.
I use ratings to determine 1) I've listened to it so now delete it, 2) I'm in the process of listening, 3) this episode has some info I need to reference but once I do I can delete, 4) and 5) this is good stuff - don't delete it ever.

well the blue dots along side the podcasts and movies will show you whether you have listened/are in the process of listening/watching. and you can delete them as you finish with them by swiping from right to left over the title and hitting the 'delete button' that comes up.
(i would recommend at least reading my posts in this thread though http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8755314#8755314 - this isn't a major problem, but has been flagged up as something which occurs with the ipod deletion method, and is worth knowing about, but would take me ages to explain it again!)
so that would effectively manage your first 2 ratings for you, but i'm not sure it is possible to rate them in the same way you can rate music.

Ipod nano and video downloads?

I was just wondering if I could still download and listen to a video on my ipod nano. I really want to put Jojo's "Too little, too late" on my nano so i can listen to it, i dont care if i see it, since the song won't be available until october for an audio download. Is this possible to do or will it screw up my nano too badly?

Don't know for sure, but I don't think the iPod will be damaged. I think all that'll happen is that either you won't get the file onto the iPod (unless you you it in diskmode), but in no way will you be able to listen to the song. It's in a format the Nano won't recognize.

You do not.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Audio portion of Video download on ipod mini

I have an ipod mini which obviously does not play video. I have donloaded to my itunes music library a few videos. Does the audio portion of the video download not synchronize with ipod? This is the case for me, unless I am missing something.

The audio part of videos is an integral part of the file and does not synchronize with your iPod mini.
If your purchased videos at the iTMS, you can't extract the audio part.
You can record the audio part of videos which are public domain
(if the terms of use allow it) or videos you have made yourself, by using programs like Wiretap or Audio Hijack.
Other programs like iMovie or QuickTime Pro can separate the audio channel from the video. (again: respect the terms of use)

My daughter accidentally deleted a video that I captured with my iPod Touch 4G. Fortunately between the time I took the video and the time she deleted it, I had connected my iPod to my computer (but had not imported the video).
However, when you connect the iPod, it does an automatic back-up and back up video and photo files as well.
To recover it, I had to explore the back-up created the last time I connected my iPod using this tool:

I tried the import software (trial version) and it was fine but I didn't want to pay for software. You can authorize up to 5 computers in the house to access your iTunes music and other iTunes purchases. Open iTunes, you can go under Store and select Authoize this computer.
