TV@Anywhere Snapstream V3 Compatibility

SnapStream gets a lot of good press.  Before going start down that path, has anybody tried it with the TV@Anywhere card?  I've been to Snapstream's web site but don't see anything +/- about the MSI card.  Thanks in advance for the input.
As an aside to MSI, if you happen to read this post - Why did you put the Coax connector at the very top of the card?  I have an aluminum Lian Li case and must wedge the card into the slot because the coax connector binds at the top of the opening in the case where it narrows slightly at the top.

Looks like I have to respond to my own message!  SnapStream got back to me and said it was hit or miss with the the MSI cards.  They say MSI will not work with them to develop the necessary code and the MSI card(s) will be marked as unsupported on their web site soon....   Guess I should have done my home work before buying.  I thought MSI was pretty much mainstream stuff.

  • PDFLPrintDoc functionality on non-English OS?

We are using Datalogics PDF 8. 1 librrary in an exe. This has the functionality of printing a PDF region to a custom printer that generates a .EMF file. For this, we are setting few printer params using PDPrintParams and PDFLPrintUserParamsRec and then call PDFLPrintDoc.
Now, on a English XP SP3 OS, this works fine and as expected generates a .EMF file with the custom printer that is added. However, on Swedish and German OS, it is NOT working. The printer just doesn't seem to do its job.
Any ideas on what's causing this failure? Is it due to the printer params not being compatible on non-English OS? OR is there any other api call for printing on these OS?
Any suggestions/comments or samples would be of great help.
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for ur reply.
So, as you said, it might be a problem with the custom printer and driver that we are referring. But, its kinda getting difficult for me to trace the code that is failing for this OS as the driver is a native c code.
Other than this, I tried printing it to a file with the existing Adobe PDF printer (that has Adobe PDF converter driver) and it worked fine. Is there any other way that I check the printing? You have mentioned printing to a postscript..how do i test this?
Also, as you have mentioned to check the support contract with DL, before contacting them, is it documented anywhere about the compatibility of PDFv8.1 library on OS's that it supports?
    Please let me know.
    Once again thank you!

  • MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum cooler

is this cpu cooler zalman CNPS7000B-Cu  compatible with the k8n neo2 platinum nf3 motherboard? i cant find it anywhere in zalmans compatability list, if it does fit the board, what does fitting it entail? can i install it like a normal hs/f or are there special fitting instructions, if so where can i find these instructions? already tried google

The Zalman cooler is heavy, but its fine as long as the nipples are tightly fastened and the screws that going into the nipples, that hold the cooler in place are tightly fastened..
Also use some artic silver 5 thermal compound and ensure you read the
    http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_silver_instructions.htm
for instructions on fitting a AMD64 processor, arctic silver recommend a different technique for these types of processor , Im sure theres not much different in the end result, but I like to do things by the manufacturers book as they generall know best.
    Good luck

  • Want to buy a Mini but not sue if it is compatable with my new tv?

I have recently purchased a Samsung LE26R74BDX LCD TV which is "PC Display Compatable". My G3 ibook has recently died and therefore I was planning on investing in a Mac Mini and doing the whole "Home Entertainment Hub" thing!
I read in a recent issue of icreate magazine that the 2 are best linked via the DVI/HDMI input on the tv but having read the manual that came with the tv it says that connecting a computer to the DVI will only result in a black screen.
Is there a cable that allows me to link the VGA output on the Mini to the PC input on the tv and what will the quality be like?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    G3 ibook 900 MHz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Brilliant, that clears things up - there is a single
audio in that is next to the PC in so I guess I need
one of the single cables you have mentioned,
hopefully the Apple Store can point me in the right
direction when I go in to buy my Mini.
If the TV has a single minijack-type audio input, then the cable you need is a very standard one that can be found almost anywhere that cables for audio/home theatre systems are sold. In the old days it would be easy to point you towards the nearest Tandy, but as I understand it they're now gone. However, even supermarkets such as Tesco are likely to have something this basic!
No doubt Apple will release an Intel Core 2 Duo
version the day after I pick it up.
There's no doubt that at some point Apple will revise the range and make new mini's faster or more powerful - and it may be that it happens next week at the Macworld Expo. I'd bet there are a few people holding on for a few days to see if new minis are announced there, and you might want to do the same if it's of concern, but the existing models are plenty powerful, and more than enough for most user's needs.
Thanks for all your help, much appreciated.
You are most welcome - and please come back and post again if you have any further questions or any problems once you've got your system!

  • OU Anywhere not working via IOS 8 update

I notice that Apple are saying that there is a problem with IOS8 and OU Anywhere (the OPen University app that allows you to do all your studies on your iPad) but no statement of when this is to be resolved?
When then will it be fixed please as I cannot access my module A200 which I need to ASAP to get started on my fourth year studies?
I'm really dissapointed that Apple didn't ensure compatibility with this App as this was one of the main reasons I bought an iPad.  I would like a reply please from Apple support today, as I feel really let down by thie lack of care that Apple has shown re this software's realease, update and the effect it has had on my workflow.

Apple support don't read these posts. It's a User-to-User forum. Try here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/

    Hi to the Mac Folks,
I have 10.6.8 and have installed two new printers HP 8610 and an Epson 7880 and can not find the Page Set-up menu anywhere in the applications I a trying to print from. This is regardless of either printer selected.
I primarily print photos from Photoshop CS5.  The term Page Set-up has gone missing in the file pull down menu. Can't make any choices  There are no page sizes, paper types, appearsto be locked on a 13x19 size paper format. Either being too large or too small.
Saw a 2008 locked issue about this however none of the help fit my situation, options discussed are not available to me.
Preview has no "Page Setup" - or does it?
Does the constant struggle with computer compatability weirdness issues ever end or is it a enslavement scheme?
    Woody

    Hey,
if you know the name(s) of the root folder(s) you want to access (eg. by making a note on the Windows side) then you can make them appear by just doing Shift-Command-G in Finder ("Go to Folder…"), and entering the full path to the required folders.  You can then navigate all the contents as normal.

  • Apple's Camera Compatibility list

I am wondering if anyone knows what this list means. This is how Apple words this:
    Camera compatibility
Aperture supports digital cameras from a wide variety of manufacturers. It offers optimized support for the RAW formats of the numerous digital SLR cameras.
    See our updated list
Once you click on the link you get a list of "the numerous digital SLR cameras". As I noticed that my Fuji Finepix S2 Pro is on the list, I assumed that my camera is fully supported in what is advertised as a Professional program that organizes RAW images. Well... after paying $600CAN, Aperture acknowledges my RAW files as an unsupported format. I don't know why considering Photoshop can see them. When I went back to make sure my camera was on the list, I noticed that only about a dozen have a graphic behind them that says RAW. There is no explanation on the page on what this graphic means. Are they implying that raw is only supported on those select few cameras. If so I've been mislead
I based my purchase on the wording Apple used to describe this list
"It offers optimized support for the RAW formats of the numerous digital SLR cameras.
    See our updated list"
Am I wrong here or does this say that if your camera is on this list, you will get optimized support for RAW

Thanks for you reply sam. I never saw that 2nd list you mentioned. I would have assumed that the list I read on the order page was good enough but I guess I was wrong. I just assumed that a supported camera meant that you can use the most prominent feature of the product "RAW workflow"
I guess my next question is what does supported camera mean?
I think Apple better make this more clear or they are going to be taking in a lot of returns. I just checked the box out and it doesn't mention camera compatibility anywhere. Just that you get a RAW workflow. Last time I checked it wasn't compulsory to check out a website before buying a product. If someone comes in a store off the street and purchases based on the boxes info, people will have every right to return the product.
For me. I guess it was my fault for misinterpreting the list and I will eat the $600 I wasted, however, this has left me with a very sour taste in my mouth.

  • I cannot do any software updates without downloading "Mac OS X 10.5", but I cant find it anywhere!!

My computer won't find any software updates, can't even do it manually.
Every time I go to download something from apple it says I can't without "Mac OS X 10.5". but I cannot find this update anywhere!
    HELP!!

You need to understand the difference between an Update and an Upgrade.
An Update is a free change within an existing Operating System. Such as the .11 added to 10.4.
An Upgrade is a complete new Operating System that must be purchased. Such as 10.5 Leopard to 10.6 Snow Leopard.
You can upgrade from 10.4 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.4 should run under10.6. See this list for compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/  You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any Power PC applications http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
I recently upgraded an older MacBook (model 1,1) straight from 10.4 to 10.6.
A retail 10.5 Leopard disk will run you over $200
Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard came out in July of 2009 and became obsolete in July of 2011 when 10.7 Lion was introduced. Unlike earlier Operating Systems which were removed from the Apple Store when a new OS came out Apple kept Snow Leopard around for a year until 10.8 Mountain Lion came out. When Mountain Lion came out they removed Snow Leopard and Lion from the online store.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

  • How far is the compatibility with PowerPoint and Keynote '09?

    Hello everyone
I love making presentations and strangely while I'm an Apple fan the only thing I still didn't convert to is iWork
Keynote is the best presentation tool I ever saw. The problem is with playing the presentations in college or anywhere else.
I know that keynote is compatible with PowerPoint, but how far?
Will the beautiful transitions and animations on keynote work on PowerPoint? Alongside with the beautiful graphics, charts and backgrounds?
    Thanks

I would say the compatibility is "just good enough". If you NEED to use it you will, but you don't want to ever NEED it.
You shoud think of the compatibility as being like trying to playback high resolution, color, widescreen, Dolby stereo content on a small black and white mono tv. There are some things that old telly just won't be capable of. Sure, you can see the motion and hear something, but you're ultimately limited by what you use to PLAYBACK the content, not what you used to CREATE it.
Because Keynote has features that PowerPoint doesn't, PowerPoint will never be able to playback exactly what you see in Keynote. The reverse is true as well.

  • OS, iOS and iTunes Compatibility

I have some iOS and iTunes updates available, but since all my gear is older, I'm getting hesitant about performing the updates due to compatibility concerns and "end-of-life" issues. I've tried searching out to see what is compatible with what, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere, and I'm generally quite successful in my internetting.
I currently have a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 17" iMac with OS X 10.7.5, running iTunes 11.1.5 (which wants to update to 12.0.1), which is cross-synced with both an iPhone 4 (with it's final OS of 7.1.2) and an iPad 2 running iOS 7.1.1 (which wants to be 8.1).
I can't seem to find any reference as to which versions of what are compatible with everything else. If I update iTunes to 12.0.1, will it still work properly with my poor old iPhone? If I update my iPad to 8.1, will it still be compatible with iTunes 11.1.5? If I update my iPad to 8.1, will it cause syncing issues with the older iOS on my iPhone? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Nothing is “cross-sync’d”.
advices are simply sync’d with iTunes.

    Yes.
If I update my iPad to 8.1, will it still be compatible with iTunes 11.1.5?
You would now be running iTunes 12.
If I update my iPad to 8.1, will it cause syncing issues with the older iOS on my iPhone?
No. iDevices don’t sync with each other.

  • Infinity and Anywhere

I recently ordered Infinity but a nice Irish lady rang to say that Infinity is not compatible with Broadband Anywhere. When I said that that I found that difficult to understand she commented that the issue is with BT's billing system.
When will this be sorted out?

    Dear BT,
I'm also very keen to find out about this. Just had a lovely leaflet through from you telling me I can now get Infinity (and at less than Anywhere package), but I come on here only to find there's some non-technical "compatability" issue with my totally unrelated mobile phone.
Seriously BT sort yourselves out, because as soon as another company gets even close to your high uptime levels we'll all be off.
Look I'll tell you what, let me switch to Infinity and charge me a monthly fee for my continued phone use on top - that's fair, yes?
I'm very brand-loyal and a top of the range product user, I've had BTBBA, or Option 3, or whatever previosuly for nearly 10 years. I have BTvision. I want to spend money on a good new product: so stop trying to p*$$ me off and make me take my business and my wallet elsewhere.
Yours looking forward to this issue being resolved very shortly...

  • App Compatibility Submission Fee and Payment Schedule

We are trying to submit an app for Windows 8.1 compatibility logo.  We login to the dashboard and submit the report created by the App Certification kit.  Next, the web site shows the "Legal Agreements".  We click on the link "Windows
Certification Program Testing Agreement v1.0".  Section 6a of this agreement reads "Company will pay Microsoft for the amounts due for testing Company Products under this Agreement according to the fee schedule and payment schedule posted at
the WDC Website and/or Microsoft’s invoices...".  But we could not find this schedule anywhere.  Anybody knows how much this charge will be?  Thanks.

From the Windows Hardware Certification Program: "...  If you have new or updated drivers, systems, or peripheral hardware that you want available for Windows, then you must certify them..."
This does not apply to us.  Ours is user app running on Windows 8.1.  Basically we like to have our app listed when search on the page below:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/Home
We have done this many times in the past.  We release a new version and need to have it listed there.  The procedure is:
    - Run the App Certification kit get a report with "passed" status
    - Login to https://sysdev.microsoft.com, go to the Dashboard and submit the report.
    - Wait for a while and the program will be listed in the Compatibility Center page.
We do not see any fee requirements before.  But now the "Legal Agreements" is shown when we try to submit the report. We do not mind paying a fee if it is reasonable. The problem is we don't know what the fee is and cannot find out where it
is posted. (We believe it is part of the yearly membership fee, but just want to make sure).

  • SAP Systems compatibility

    Hello,
We are planning the upgrade of several of our SAP systems:
From SRM 4 to  SRM 7
From ECC 5 to  ECC 6
From CRM 5 to  CRM 7
and portal from EP6 to EP7
I can't find the dependencies between the systems anywhere, I've looked on matrix of compatibility, release information notes and upgrade and install guides.
I need to know if there are any dependencies between these upgrades i.e. does it matter from a SAP / technical perspective which order we do them in and will the upgraded system work with the existing versions of the other systems.
Any help will be much appreciated!
    Thank you
    Kind regards,
    Marcia

Hi Marcia, we're planning an upgrade and going through the same process.
We also used the UDA as mentioned by others.
You might also want to check compatibility with 3rd party tools you currently have by reaching out to the vendors.

  • Platform compatibility question(s) from new user!

    I'm confused.
I picked up Java a few days ago, with the intention of converting a long-standing JavaScript project that I have to run as an applet. I downloaded and installed the Java2 SDK (1.4) and associated runtime environment, and a simple but good IDE (JCreator 2).... and I'm happily developing applets to my heart's content. Cool language, by the way.
HOWEVER, none of my colleagues (on IE5/5.5 on Win2K/Millenium) can view my resulting efforts. Their browsers complain that they can't find the class. Works on mine, on-line, just not theirs. I've sadly made the assumption that it's because I've installed the 1.4 JRE and they haven't.
I REALLY want to use 1.4 to develop if I can. My JavaScript project that I'm converting is heavily dependant upon regular expression operations, and it would be a pity not to have them available - but platform compatibility is a must; this is a commercial project.
I'm missing something here, and I need to ask some really fundemental questions.
    1. I was assuming that most browsers over 4.0 would support "Java2". Just what IS their level of support, by default. I hate new plug-ins, and the Java ones arent trivial!
    2. I had thought that any flavour of Java2 (1.2/3/4) would work on the same virtual machine release, and that new features in 1.4 would simply compile to existing bytecode sequences. Am I wrong?
    3. If I have to develop for maximum compatibility with earlier browsers, can I do this with 1.4 and some compiler switch, or do I have to download older SDKs?
    4. If the worst comes to the worst, is there a class out there that handles regular expression "style" operations that will work on older releases of the language.
Sorry that there's a fair bit there to answer, but since I can't find this info ANYWHERE on the web, I guess I won't be the only newbie facing such issues.
    Peter McKean.

just a few points to add to the other answer :
HOWEVER, none of my colleagues (on IE5/5.5 on
Win2K/Millenium) can view my resulting efforts. Their
browsers complain that they can't find the class.

made the assumption that it's because I've installed

Yeah the Java support in IE is whack. The m$ JVM never got past java 1.1.4 compatability for various reasons. So unless you want users to install the java 2 pluggins, you have to code applets with the java 1.1 api. You can still do this with a java 2 sdk - you just have to watch the parts of the api you use.
    >>
    2. I had thought that any flavour of Java2 (1.2/3/4)
would work on the same virtual machine release, and
that new features in 1.4 would simply compile to
existing bytecode sequences. Am I wrong?Yeah you are wrong ;) . When do do:
    import java.<package>.<class>
you are telling the compiler where to find the classes you are about to re-use in your code. You are not including them in your final compiled class files. So when the program runs, it looks for the classes in the classpath. If you use classes that don't exist in an older jvm, the program won't run in that jvm. (Same as if a C or C++ program is dynamically linked to dlls (in Win32) or shared objects on unix - they need to be on the system that the program is executed on.)
    hope this helps...
