TV Episodes Appearing Under Movies

Ever since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, TV episodes I've ripped from DVDs I own that I add to iTunes have been appearing in the movies category of Front Row. It is driving me bananas, because I have a lot of media in my library, and I enjoyed accessing it with the Apple remote through Front Row, but I totally can't do that anymore since everything's a big mess.
I've sorted the files correctly in iTunes--I know how to do that--so why can't Front Row sort them the same way iTunes has? Is anyone else having this problem? It is completely baffling me.

I have the exact same problem! Even with Leopard (all versions of 10.5.x), Front Row never worked properly for sorting shows. iTunes would list the TV shows properly by Season/Episode, yet, FR would list the seasons out of order such as 5,3,4,1,2 but not for EVERY TV show, just some. Standard reverse order would be acceptable to me as it would put the most recent episode higher in the list but it just seemed random as not all the mis-sorted shows followed the same pattern.
I am now using Snow Leopard 10.6.1 and iTunes 9.0.1 and all the TV shows are listed in BOTH the TV Shows AND Movie sections of FR (Version 2.2 (313)). This is an absolute MESS!! Apple should detail exactly how FR sorts using the iTunes tagging system so we can make adjustments. Or, better yet, Apple should just fix this long-standing embarrassment. Additionally, iTunes should support editing of extended tags such as movie ratings, why should I be forced to use an addition program like MetaX (very good software, BTW)??

Some TV Shows appearing under Movies within Front Row

I've started experiencing this particular behaviour since installing the recent updates (10.6.1 & iTunes 9). Within iTunes, I've checked the 'media kind' and it is set correctly.
All the content was purchased from iTunes. I'd be grateful for any advice.

The problem happened again to me - I was fiddling with my music videos (some 664) and did a mass tidy up - selected all and then checked the box to make sure they weren't skipped or resumed half way through. Also ticked the box that they were music video.
Back in Front Row suddenly all my movies were swamped with hundreds of music videos. And they were clearly marked as "music video" when displayed in Front Row Movies.
I did the following: selected all the music videos, changed the type to TV shows, exited iTunes. Checked in FR - all gone from Movies. Back into iTunes and then changed them all back to Music Video. Exited iTunes. Checked FR - still gone!
So maybe try changing them to something else (music video or movie in your case?) and then back again - make sure you exit iTunes after though (maybe it commits changes to the iTunes database or something ... ?).

Downloading TV shows from itunes - episodes appearing seperately not all under the same series despite all the information being the same. How can I get them to appear under the same series

I have many series - NCIS, West Wing etc where some episodes appear under the series and some appear on their own.
I have checked the info anf they appear to be identical.
How do I get them to group together corectly?

After a couple of days, I'm noticing that the repeat(ing) offenders have more than 10 episodes, and seem to keep repeating them every time I sync.
They only show once in my phone and in the iTunes Podcasts, but through iTunes and looking at what's in my phone is when I see the repeats.
Even after I've marked a podcast as played, and deleted it from within my phone, as well as telling iTunes to delete the played episodes, it still shows multiples of the played episodes.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it either. They aren't the newest ones either.

Example: On Sep 26, 2012, an episode of You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes was released titled "Chris Hardwick". Another podcast I subscribe to called Making It with Riki Lindhome has also had an episdoe titled "Chris Hardwick" before on Dec 21, 2011. In the Podcasts app, the Sep 26, 2012 "Chris Hardwick" episode appears under Making It with Riki Lindhome, yet when played it is You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes.

How do I transfer PDF files from PC to IPAD using Itunes 12.1.2. Previous versions let me drag file in Itunes to Ipad and files appeared under Ibook but can't get it to work in latest 12.1.2 version.

I had my pdf files copied into ITunes on my PC but when I clicked on a pdf file to copy it I thought the sidebar would appear with my IPAD name and then I would drag it over. I didn't realize that I needed to click-and start dragging it towards the left-hand side for the sidebar to appear. It worked like a charm - THANKYOU!!!

Series of 8 characters appearing under my mouse pointer

i have a mac... mid 2007. no problems with it ever in the last 7 years. today...about 2 hours ago...i started to see a weird series of 8 strange unidentifiable characters appearing under my mouse pointer on my screen... it just moves right along trailing my pointer around. does anyone know what this is...and how to get rid of this annoying pain in the butt. i checked thru my mac downloads looking for any weird downloads...but i see nothing out of ordinary...and i am normally pretty cautious about links and weird ads online and i never click on them. my mac had 500 gig hard drive...and i still have 400 remaining after 7 years. anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of this problem. i thought it was the mouse batteries or the mouse itself so i swapped around with another... but its not the mouse. please help. thanks.

Why does a box appear under the pointer with words for the last tab clicked on?

When I am searching for something I get to a site and the pointer can be anywhere and then a small box appears under the pointer with words for the last tab clicked on. If I move the pointer the box disappears and then reappears at the new location. How can I stop that from happening??

Actually, if you mean Apple/iTunes purchased content, you can go to the content area and go to Purchased... e.g. if you go to Movies > Purchased all the movies you have purchased through iTunes/Apple will appear there... ditto for Music, TV Shows, Music...
for local copies of media, computer needs to be on with iTunes running...

IMAP folders appear under Inbox

I am using Mail.app with 6 imap accounts. For two of the accounts (both on cyrus-imapd servers, I believe), all of the folders appear as subfolders of that accounts Inbox. I am able to successfully assign the Junk, Trash, Sent, etc. folders. Every unassaigned folder, however, appears under Inbox. If I place "INBOX" (without quotes) as my IMAP Path Prefix, as instructed by my ISP (one I host), I cannot connect to any of the subfolders (and they remain under "Inbox").
For both accounts, I can also use a webmail server, where every folder does appear under INBOX.
As of a couple months ago, Mail had always worked perfectly for me. For some unknown reason, when starting Mail one day, I had to reset many of my prefereneces. From that point on, I have had this above problem with two of my accounts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These being IMAP accounts, you may try re-creating them, i.e. deleting them in Preferences > Accounts and setting them up again from scratch. INBOX should definitely be in the IMAP Path Prefix. You may try bypassing the Account Setup “Assistant” by holding the Option (Alt) key down when clicking on the [+] button, so that Mail doesn’t attempt to connect to the server until the account has been completely configured.
Before deleting the accounts, you may want to make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example (quit Mail first).

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can't doing anything abouty this, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.

Can I have an iTunes Library on an external HD, and have it appear under 'Shared' so I can use two library's at once?

Hey guys, here's a weird one - I have a large library on my macbook for my DJ music. Now I want to convert all my old albums to AIFF for listening purposes, and not DJing, so I don't want to cram them all into the lappy HD.
I have a NAS, which shows up as a 'Shared' Library. Can I create a library on an external Thunderbolt portable HD and have it do the same? Or will that only work on Network HD's.
I know the trick to hold Option and select your library at startup for multiple librarys, however I want to use them both at once.
Any ideas?

Basically, I want to plug in an external HD, and have it appear under 'Shared' Libraries, just like what happens when I'm connected to my NAS Server. If this is possible, of course.

How can I find the TV shows that are on my iPod? They don't all appear under my Video icon.

I know they are on my iPod because if I search for them, they are there. I would like to be able to find them under one of my apps though. They used to appear under "Video". Is my iPod just too old by Apple standards?

What type of videos?
Videos can be coded to appear in the music app because there are Music videos. You can change the coding by going to iTunes on the computer and selecting the video and right clicking the and selecting Get Info. The selection for Medi Kind is under the Option tab

How can I re-set the App Store so the Updates will again appear under the Updates tab?

Hi,
I am running a Macbook Pro (retina). Lately when I launch App Store and click on Updates the software updates for the software on the Macbook do not show up under the Updates tab. However, when I go to the Purchased tab I see there Update buttons next to programs that have updates ready to download.
How can I re-set the App Store so the Updates will again appear under the Updates tab?

Songs dont appear under the artist name on the ipod....

When i put a song on itunes, it appears under the artist and the song name but when i look for it on my iPod under the artist name, it doesnt show up. Where is the song?

I went to that link but it doesnt seem to help. In itunes I have made sure that the song title, album and artist name are already in there with the correct spelling etc. In itunes all the info is there. When I look for the artist in my ipod it doesn't show up. I can find the album and the individual songs but the artist is not there.
Also...Songs in my itunes have all been organized and did the "get info" thing but some of the same artist appear several times on my ipod. I made sure everything is spelled correctly and the same for the same artist name, I have done resets and restore on the ipod, I deleted all the music out of itunes and then reinstalled it but I am still having the problem with certain artists...not all of them just randomly some. And it is continuing to happen with some new mp3s I am adding. What is going on with that???
Any help would be greatly appreciated...I have only had my ipod 3 weeks!!! If there is something wrong with it I want to return it and get a new one or is it user error?
