TV Episodes playing in 4:3

Hi Everyone!
First off, apologies if someone has asked this before! I'm a new mac user, and bought myself a Mac Mini yesterday. I hooked it up to my TV, when I play Itunes downloaded movies, they play in the regular widescreen format, but all the tv episodes that I got from Itunes, plays in letterbox (4:3) mode.
Can someone help me fix this.

For the "problem" Clips, have you tried Interpret Footage (Rt-click on the Clip in the Project Panel), to "force" PrPro to see them correctly?
In the Clip's header, there are flags to tell PrPro what the specifications are, and sometimes a flag, or two, can be missed.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Delete the problem episodes and redownload.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Episodes played in V 6.5 won't show up in V 7.0

When I played episodes on my computer and on my iPod in version 6.5 and before it didn't affect everything the way this did. In version 7.0 the episodes that I played once or twice (ones that didn't get lost; see other post) won't show up in the playlist on my iPod now. It's like it only wants the ones I haven't seen yet on my iPod and the rest still on my comp. How do I get the ones I've seen before on my iPod again?

In the Devices section on the left side,on your iPod, go to the TV Shows tab and choose 'all' instead of 'all unwatched' in the episodes pulldown. Same thing goes for podcasts and movies
I'm not sure why...maybe to save space on iPods which almost always have less memory than the actual computer...but the default is to ONLY sync unwatched episodes. SInce you have already watched those episodes, they weren't copied over.

Single episode plays with no sound

I have an odd problem going on. I subscribe to The Office. The latest episode downloaded, and will play a picture but no sound. I notified the store, and they let me download it again. Same problem. I do not have this problem with any of my other subscriptions or movies that I have downloaded.
I have reset the AppleTV, turned it off and on, even done a factory restore and update. No change. Anyone else having this problem? Apple is being very helpful, but no solution so far. Oh! I can play it with sound in iTunes. Just not on the Apple TV.

NO Star Trek Episodes Play anyone know why

Anytime I try to download/play a star trek episode it does not download and says the same thing everytime "PLAYBACK FAILED There was an error while playing back this video" Any suggestions? I have windows XP and live iN Los Angeles. Could there be a copywrite law here? Has William Shatner demanded more money?? Plus if I have several downloads going at the same time, and if the program I am NOT watching downloads first the file disappears and cant be found?? Where do the downloads go?? You should just be able to click on the file thats downloading in order to play it or find the file after its downloaded, But thats not possible. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. When you're editing DV, the DV stream is converted to analog for viewing externally by the camera/deck/box you're using connected to the FW port on your Mac... so the problem here isn't that FCP can't do it... (it never could and probably never will) . The problem is that the hardware to do this isn't in any HDV device... Bet it's not cheap either. HDV is an MPEG stream, and to decode that in real time converting it to analog would take a LOT of heavy lifting... expensive heavy lifting.
I'd suggest that you get a capture card that will do this... I'd look right at a Kona LH series card. Better yet, if you have an intel Mac, is an Io HD for the job. Capture as ProRes instead of HDV, and you'll find the whole system is faster, and graphics look a ton better.

How can I make multiple TV episodes play continuously?

My child likes the show "Peppa Pig" but the episodes are only 10 mins long. I'm tired of hitting a button every 10 minutes so how can I queue up several tv shows to play uninterrupted?

I downloaded the latest TV episosode of SOA but there is no audio. How do I getthe audio portion?

I have this same problem as well. The first two episodes play fine, but there is no audio on the third. I can't get any help from iTunes.
Is there a way to cancel the season pass, so I can purchase it from another source, and not have to put up with iTunes blaming me for not buying the extended warranty on my iMac?

How to play only one episode of a podcast on the iPod Classic 120GB?

With my previous iPod-- the 60GB iPod Photo-- I could play only one episode of a podcast. I would scroll to "Podcasts" on the main menu, find the name of the podcast I wanted to hear, click on an episode and only that one would play. If I wanted to listen to all the episodes of that particular podcast, I'd access it through the Playlist feature.
The system above for playing a single episode doesn't seem to work on the iPod Classic 120 GB. All the episodes play no matter how I access the podcast.
What am I overlooking?

Probably not! My 30GB video iPod will only play one Podcast episode at a time and this does not change by using shuffle. I think your 60Gb iPod was the same as the 30GB.
As S_Edwards has posted and as you have found, the Classic does use shuffle to alter the way Podcasts are played. Quite why Apple use shuffle to control single or continuous playing of Podcasts, and then not document it either, is a mystery.
As a useful reminder, while the Podcast is playing, the screen display will show 1 of 1 to denote single-episode mode or 1 of x to denote continuous-episode mode.

Episodes show, but does not play

In the iTunes store, it shows all of the episodes. However, it does not download them when I subscribe, nor does it play when I click on them. Can someone take a look at my feed and see what I'm missing. Thanks!

Just to let you know, the episodes play fine for me in the iTunes Store. The mp3s also work when opened in a browser.
Once subscribed-to in iTunes, the episodes do download for me, just very, very, very slowly. Where are you hosting your media? You might want to check with the folks in charge of that server, because I don't think that the xml feed is the cause of your issue. I believe server speed is the problem.

ITunes won't play the last two episodes of my BlogTalkRadio podcast

The latest two episodes of my podcast hosted on BlogTalkRadio and syndicated to iTunes won't play. Both episodes play the BlogTalkRadio-supplied preroll ad, and there is correct length and description metadata, but the files play 1 second of silence.
Both episodes work fine when listened to on BTR, and all other previous episodes work on iTunes.

It's not really possible to comment unless you would like to publish the URLs of both your feed and the Store page - this latter can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image (or where it should be) - and choosing 'Copy link'. Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable.

How to un-play podcast episode

I clicked something as I was mousing around with iTunes. One of my podcast episodes started to play. I never intentionally listen to media on my PC, so I stopped the play somehow (I forgot what I did to stop it). However, the podcast episode is now designated as "playing". I would like to un-designate the episode as "playing". How can this be done in iTunes?

Having started the episode playing it will register as part-played (half dot) as opposed to unplayed (full dot) unless you right/option click it and Mark as Unplayed.

Thanks tt2. There is no "Mark as Unplayed". I suspect that it is because the episode did not play to completion. However, selecting another playlist did make the speaker icon go away. Strangely, a full blue dot is shown rather than a half dot.

I run Netflix on my ATV. I am interested in setting up the automatic play for episodes. Could this be done? And if so, how?

When I run Netflix or Hulu in my PS3, I can enable automatic episode play, which is great when I am cooking or cleaning, and my 4 year old is watching a show. However, upstairs I run Netflix and Hulu via the Apple TV. Hulu allows for automatic episode play but Netflix doesn't. Is this something I can control via the ATV, or is this an issue with Netflix? Any info will be apreciated!

Playing TV Show episodes continuously

I have purchased a season of TV shows through the iTunes Store. I want to be able to press play at the beginning of the season, and have each episode play continuously when the previous one finishes. (It's a children's show with 10 minute long episodes and I can't deal with having to start each episode off for my 2 year old - don't judge me!).
How can I set the season so each episode plays continuously? Very grateful for any help. I can normally fix these things by googling but I can't find an acceptable solution that doesn't involve messing around in iTunes on my PC. Thanks in advance.

Ah, in this case, it looks like the titles to some of your files have been truncated.
In your home file, do a search for the movie, then update the title manually. With a Mac, you can probably get the specific data by doing COMMAND-i; I can't tell you what the shortcut might be in Windows. Retitling the track seems like it should work, albeit in a less than automatic fashion.

Apple TV not playing purchased TV episodes, since applying update

I purchased a TV series on Apple TV (as I have done many times before).
However, after upgrading the Apple TV last month (with the latest software update), I now can't play those TV episodes, without great difficulty
I can see the purchases episodes. But, when I press "play", then press "OK", it's as though I've pressed "cancel", and it goes back to the screen with the "play" icon (i.e. not letting me through to the show I've purchased)
I’ve gone back to Apple ID to make sure my birthdate is correct, and have checked the Parent Controls to make sure they’re right.
I did a complete restore, but nothing changed.
So, in my frustration, I tried my last resort (which is no real solution), and it worked!!
Here it is:
When I want to watch a TV episode that I've purchased (which is appropriate for those aged over 15+), I need to do the following:
Click "Play", then click "OK" (to watch show appropriate for those aged 15+) - Then, REPEAT THIS 2-STAGE PROCESS 4 OR 5 TIMES
On the 4th or 5th time I click "Play" and then click "OK", the TV episode plays!
Is this a bug in the Apple TV, that I should raise with them? Does anyone know what’s causing this issue?

It is very frustrating.
