TV episodes suddenly need to be downloaded from iCloud?

When I went to my iTunes, on the TV shows section, there were download buttons (from iCloud) next to a few random episodes... I've never used icloud before, and I know that I didn't put them in icloud. It's now saying that I have to download those episodes before I can watch them... what is the cause of this? Thanks

I'm happy to help! When you click on Store in the menus at the top of iTunes, it should say View Account with your Apple ID in parentheses. This is the signed in Apple ID.
With the current version of iTunes, if you have made purchases with this Apple ID and the purchased song or video files are not saved on your computer's hard drive, you can still stream the songs or videos from the iTunes servers (these would be the items in your iTunes library with the cloud icon next to them).
If you have an internet connection, it is not necessary to download them to your computer, but if you do want to watch or listen to these items when you are away from an internet connection, then you will need to download them.
If you don't want to see these items that are not saved to your computer mixed in with the items that are, you can turn this setting off by going to iTunes>Preferences>Store and unchecking "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases." You can always come back here to select it in the future or go to the purchased section under Quick Links in the iTunes Store to download your past purchases.

What are you trying to do? If the movie is on your iPad, the cloud icon will not appear next to the movie. You will see the cloud icon next to the movie if you delete it from your iPad and then you can download it again. That is assuming that the movie is eligible for a free download as not every movie can be downloaded again for free.
This is a screenshot of the purchased tab in iTunes on my iPad. These movies are already on my iPad so there is no cloud icon next to them for another download.
What I don't understand is for what reason are you trying to access the movie? If you want to watch the movie, it is in the videos app. Maybe that is where I am missing the boat.

Hello, i purchased the movie Changeling and its shows in Itunes library but will not transfer to my Ipod. It has the Icloud icon showing in the top right hand corner and if i click on play it starts to download from Icloud again and it does this each time

It has the Icloud icon in the top right hand corner of the cover and if i click on play it starts to download from Icloud again and it does this each time i wish to play it, the same now happens to all my purcased movies which of course uses additional ISP download allowance. Before the recent update and lay out of Itunes this didn't happen i just purchased a movie and downloaded it then synced it to my ipod and enjoyed it. But now this latest movie purchase will not download to my ipod. I have sent the problem to Itumes and if there is answer i havent received it. Appreciate any advice

You may need to download a lower resolution version of the movie in order for it to sync to your iPod.

The process depends on who controls your email. If you have (username)@mac.com, (username)@me.com or (username)@icloud.com you've come to the correct place. For any other mail server, you need to contact their specific user support tools.

What do i have to download from icloud to make my digital downloads work?

omg pls help me, i am trying to install a digital dl of a blu ray that i just bought yesterday and it keeps asking for me to do more. ie you need to download from icloud but it refuses to tell me what to dl from icloud.

If you need to change the iCloud ID on your new phone you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

That's possible if he didn't connect to a WiFi hotspot after taking them. I don't think the "Personal" Photo Stream uploads over Cellular, unless they changed it since the last time I used it.
If that's the case, then the photos likely didn't upload to Photo Stream and are stuck on the phone.
And you're not going to be able to get them back, either.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "music library" - are you looking in the Music app? Or the iTunes app (which is not the one to be looking in)?

File hung on download from iCloud (pages, keynote, mac, iOS)

I've got two files, one in Pages and one in Keynote, that are hanging on the download from iCloud. No matter what device (mac, ipad, iphone) I use to view iCloud it shows the file partially downloaded and "updating." I can't select it and I can't delete it. Unfortunately, for both files, they're the only version of them I have. Other files come and go no problem.
I've tried reseting iCloud on all devices, restarting, reinstalling apps… no change. Would love to know what could be done about this.

I synced the movies to my iPhone 4S.
I noticed the movies were automatically uploaded to iCloud, and I had the option to download the movie from iCloud (iTunes/Purchased/Movies).
Being curious, I tapped the iCloud logo next to the movies and they downloaded again.
I now have two copies of each movie. I can delete from my iPhone the iTunes copies, but I cannot delete the iCloud copies.
The iTunes copies play.
The iCloud copies will not play as a I get a message that says "You do not have permission to access the requested resource".
How do I delete movies downloaded from iCloud, that are on my iPhone ??

I've had this happen several times... I suspect the download was interrupted for some unreported reason so it only has a partial file or has a corrupt byte in the file it failed to catch.
Just delete the local copy and re-download from the cloud and they play fine.
