TV hook up won't work

I have tried to hook up my PB 15" HD to my Sony TV, but without succes. I\m using the DVI to composite (yellow) plug. It looks like the PB recognizes the TV (next tot the Color LCD display screen i get an NTSC/PAL window as well with a resolution of 640x480), but my TV won't give any image.
Things i tried already:
- using my iBook (works just fine on same channel with mini-dvi tot rgb composite)
- did an archive & install (no succes)
- used another user (no succes)
- switching between mirror and extend screen (no succes)
- tried various ways an orders of connecting & booting PB and TV
- PB works fine when i use the DVI to VGA connector in a beamer
Any thoughts?

No. Back it up anyway. If you can't use the built-in backup function of iTunes, find the library in the Windows Explorer and back that folder up as you would any other.

Explain exactly what "it won't work" means. The iPad does not respond at all? Does it turnn on? It is not recognized in iTunes when you connect it to your computer?

How old are the various devices? It could be possible for you to have configured a very new AirPort Extreme in a way that older iPhones and iPads could not access. For example, could you have set up the Extreme to use only 801.11n and 5GHz?

5th G iPod won't work when hooked up

My new iPod will charge on my laptop - it shows up on the desktop as well as in iTunes - but it won't work while it's charging from the computer.
I know the battery isn't completely down. Is there some setting I need to change so I can charge AND watch videos at the same time?

Click the eject symbol (underlined arrow) next to the iPod in the iTunes source list. The iPod should return to its main menu, but the battery meter should have a lightning bolt in it.

WRT54G v4 won't work in PPPoE mode...
For the past few years, I've had my WRT54G v4 set up to run in PPPoE mode. My Siemens Speedstream 5200 is set to run in Bridge Mode. It's worked fine for a long time. If I ever ran into a problem, I could always simply reset both, re-do all the settings, and it'd be fine.
Today I come home from work, it's not working at all. I reset the settings, redo everything, still not working. I do this a few times. It repeatedly just won't connect to anything. The DSL modem activity lights are flashing, everything is normal, the Status page in my Linksys setup all reads fine (it's connecting through the modem like it should, acquiring an IP address, etc). So, I decide I'm gonna reset the modem and try bypassing the Linksys.
That turns out to work just fine.
So I reset the Linksys, hook my PC back up to the Linksys, and everything is fine. But here's the rub...
If I try to bridge the modem and put the Linksys in PPPoE mode, it simply stops working. If I put it back into DHCP mode and reset the DSL modem, it still won't work. Once it enters PPPoE mode, the Linksys simply stops working as it should. Nothing besides a reset will make it start working.
Any suggestions/explanations as to what would cause this? I'm completely baffled, personally. I'm running the DSL modem in it's normal state and the Linksys in DHCP but I really prefer it the other way. I just can't figure out why it isn't working.
So, to sum up:
1. Connection is fine when going straight through the DSL modem.
2. Connection is fine when routed through the Linksys into the DSL modem with the Linksys in DHCP mode.
3. Once DSL modem is set to Bridge Mode and Linksys to PPPoE, I lose internet connectivity. No DNS, nothing.
4. Even if I change the settings back to DHCP, it still will not work. I must manually reset the router's settings using the reset button, doing the same with the DSL modem.
Any suggestions? I've tried everything I can possibly think of.

You need to Upgrade the Router's firmware in order to get the connection work again with PPPoE...
Download 2.95 MB...Once the Firmware has been downloaded you need to unzip the firmware file, it will unzip 3 files, you need the .bin file...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

External back up won't work on Yosemite Macbook Pro

I downloaded OS X Yosemite a couple of days ago, works well. I went to back up my Macbook Pro on the external hard drive I have always used and it won't work, it just keeps saying preparing back up. It is a WD My Passport hard drive. I tried removing the hard drive and selecting it to use a a back up but still wouldn't work. It has worked fine every time before downloading Yosemite. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dual monitors won't work independently

Vnyga, thanks but that's not it. The geek squad said something about my monitor plug ins I told them my computer recognizes the dual setup but won't work independently. He said you can keep tweak it but he has 3 monitors an although they will learn his only remembers about 70% of the time. I'm going to try hooking it up toy TV as a monitor. I just want to use it for security cameras. I do have a DVR I could use but I normally just use that when I'm ghost hunting. I'm actually I union millwright and part time ghost hunter so I'm not to well versed in computers or the talkology but I'm learning. Anyway my laptop w win8 works just fine. But... Shutdown hooker, how does it work?

I am writting a Java service that might crash for unknown reasons. As a failover mechanism, i was thinking to use shutdown hook to do house cleaning work such as closing db connection, notifying the client of this service, etc.
However, people point it out that #1, inside shutdown hook it is ok to close db connection, but notifying client won't work; #2, shutdown hook is not reliable and likely not be called in the first place when the system crashes. Like that in the Linux env, it can be killed by "kill" or "kill -9", the impact on the service can be different.
Anyone can make a comment about the above statements? And what's the best options in a crashing sceanario?

Was your computer still able to get online when connected to your router or your modem? If not then you need to reset and then reconfigure the router’s settings. Use the link that I will provide you below on how to reconfigure the router’s settings after the reset.

Backlight won't work and my playlists won't show on my nano

I need help. I just returned my first nano because it turned off and never turned back on, and last night I hooked up my new nano and the backlight isn't working and my playlists won't show up on my nano.
I turned my backlight on and made sure it wasn't turned off and it still won't work.
My playlists will show up on ITunes but not on my nano. I don't know what to do except take it back AGAIN. PLease help me.

AirPort Express won't work with 7.0.2

Everything was fine til I bought a new Shuffle. It made me upgrade to 7.0.2, now my Airport Express won't work. I have firmware 6.2 and just uploaded all of the newest updates from apple.com for it (AX). The security is off on my network and the AX is connected with a green light. Still no option to choose my home stereo which is hooked up to the AX. HELP! I have spent all day trying to get this to work!!!!

This is the correct setting to "extend" the network using an Ethernet connection. Technically, this is called a "roaming" network.
If I change this to Extend A Network it doesn't work properly.
This is because "Extend a wireless network" is used only when AirPort devices communicate with each other using wireless only......not Ethernet.
It would help if Apple used settings like "Extend a network using Ethernet" and "Extend a network using wireless only".....but they don't.
The AirPort Extreme will need to be configured as the main router if you want it to provide a Guest Network. It cannot do this if it is configured in Bridge Mode.

Linksys WTRG54 won't work with Motorola Surfboard

I just bought this Linksys WRT54G, and it won't connect to my Motorola Surfboard modem. I can connect to the router wirelessly from my Macbook, I just can't get online. I'm sure it's the router's problem because I can't even log in to the modem when I'm connected to the router. I checked all my connections repeatedly, tried updating the firmware, and many many power cycles. Also did a lot of googling and tried other solutions. Are they just not compatible with each other?
One thing is though, the very first time I hooked it up, it was working. Then I power cycled it and it won't work now.

Have you configured the Linksys to clone the MAC address on record with your ISP? Sometimes this is required by the ISP. I use Comcast, a Moto 6120, and a D-Link router, and had to do this.
If this is not relevant, perhaps you can provide the hardware version of your Linksys WRT54G, model of Moto Surfboard, and your ISP and general geographic location, in hopes someone can help.
