Tv - iMac Which connector to use

I bought a new LED TV Hd etc etc the other day and i was going to hook it up to my Mac with a mini dvi to VGA then use a VGA cable to connect it, but while apple deliver it I've been checking out the other slots the TV has and one say's "PC DVI" next to a HDMI slot.
Any one know which is better Mac /Mini-DVI / HDMI / HDMI / TV
Or Mac /Mini-DVI / VGA / VGA / TV ?

Thanks for your reply............. it seems like I will have to keep on using the VGA monitor on the iMac. It's probably less of a hassle to repair my LCD display (@ £300+labour) or just buy another iMac. Thanks Apple for being so bloody commercial!!!!!

My old emails address which I have used as my apple id for 10 years is being made redundant. I have changed the email address to a new gmail one and this is my new apple id. But my iMac has not recognised this. It keeps saying it wants the password for my old email address. I have seen some advice on these forums which suggest signing out of iCloud and then back in again. But when I start doing this it asks me if i want all the photos deleted that have not been downloaded onto the mac.
I have had an iCloud account for quite sometime and I'm afraid of losing everything in my cloud if i sign out and sign in with a new id.
Is this fear realistic?
I know I can change back to my old email, sign out and then sign in wight he new one...

This did not work for me. My old email account for iCloud still pops up on my screen every time I open my macbook. I've deleted it, reset it, every thing I can think of and it still shows up. I think six months of this is more than enough time to wait.

My iMac was stolen in a robbery - no files via iCloud (long story). I have a new iMac which is set up and being used - how do I recover old iMac files from what looks like back-up files showing on my Time Capsule (also being used for this new iMac)?

My iMac was stolen - but I think there's a backup on my Time Capsule (which wasn't stolen). I have a new iMac which I've been using normally; I didn't use the 'Restore from...' option at the start because I thought the Time Capsule had nothing on it. So how do I now recover files from the Time Machine? I can see various back-ups on the Time Capsule, from various machines - laptops, etc. - but it's not letting me open any of them to see what they contain. Does anyone know how I access this information?

Are there photos in the Library? If not then just trash it and launch iphoto. It will make a new one.
If there are pics in it then Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Click the Source Forge link - make sure you reject offers for any other software during the installation, Source Forge usually will ask you to install other stuff in addition to what you want (Filezilla).
It works well on Mac.
Dreamweaver also has built-in FTP functionality if you want to check that out.

Nothing personal to you or Rajshee, but this is exactly why I absolutely despise these "community forums" (not just Adobe but any company). I called the Tech Support phone line today after digging and digging for a phone number, and they told me the exact opposite, and they did it a lot faster than it was possible to get a forum response. (That's really not personal, because you can't control that, but it's a fact.)
Their answer: As long as I'm signed in with the same ID, I can try, say, Photoshop CC on my iMac at home and also try Acrobat Pro CC on my Windows 7 machine at work. Same account, same login, one trial.
This makes complete sense to me as I'm financially on the hook (potentially) for the same package. If I give away my login to someone else, which I wouldn't do, I'm still on the hook. This is why the cloud approach to software is such genius and I applaud it.
BTW, 99% of the "community forum" wrong answers come on Microsoft sites, so don't feel bad.

Also experiencing some funky issues with my wireless keyboard. With new batteries, it will just stop functioning. Certain keys intermittently won't work. Also the fans go on as soon as I turn the computer on - some times they stay on and sometimes they don't. Ever since upgrading the operating system - I've been having many issues with this iMac. Not happy. Any answers out there?

Thanks for your reply LexSchellings, There is no disc in the drive and I went through the suggestions you put forward on the phone with Apple support without any luck. I can put a disc in but it pops straight back out again without registering on finder.
The idea of using an external drive was to enable me to avoid the cost and loss of productivity whilst machine in repair... if I have to take it in to get the old drive removed than I might as well have a new internal drive put in, although I do worry about the reliability of these apple drives given my experience with this one coupled with my limited online research ... on line forums seem to be full of people with the same problem (although perhaps searching such forums is bound to make it seem a common problem as users with perfectly working machines are less likely to post (?)) Your reply suggests that no external drive will work whilst the existing drive is in place.
As a postscript: I do realise that this is a user forum ...my secondary question was asking if anyone knows how to put forward a case/complaint to Apple... I can't find a link on the support page that would enable me to do so and I was wondering if anyone on this user forum had any ideas/experience..

There are many ways to accomplish this, depending on how you want it. Setting up multiple accounts is easy under System Preferences:Accounts. After that open iTunes on your newly created account.
Now, is where you could do a couple of different things. If your PC is sharing the same network and you are able to see the files on the PC from the iMac, then just drag and drop the iTunes Library music folder structure (just the part that contains the actual music) into the iTunes window. If you can't access the PC files, then you need to copy them all to an external hard drive, and import them w/ the same method.
If you don't want to create a second root-level account for yourself, but want to keep the music library separate, create another iTunes Library. You do this by holding down the Option key while starting iTunes, then click on the Create Library option. Then import the music using either method above.

TS4209 This just began to happen with my IMAC. I am using OSX v. 10.8.2. At first I was able to restart (something I don't do normally) and wi-fi would reconnect. Now I have to use the diagnostic on the page when it does not load to connect, any thoughts?

My IMAC running OSX 10.8.2 has reciently stopped automatically connecting to the internet using wi-fi following a period of being asleep. I have attempted to restart the IMAC which corrected it for a time. Next I followed the instructions on the help page regarding issues with not connecting on wake up. That only corrected the problem within the session. There are no recient downloads available to address this issue, however there are earlier versions which were suppose to address this, is this a new issue or was the old one never fixed. Note I have never had this problem before and I did reboot the wi-fi router, which only corrected the problem for a short period. I do not have the problem with other devices connected (PC Laptop, PC, apple TV and older IPOD touch).
