[TV@Master] ERROR .... TV Tuner & XP Media Center

Hello every body ,, I'm new member in this great site ..
I have PC with :
Intel Desktop Board D915GAV
Pentium 4 Processor 3.4
DDR 400/333  1 GB
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
Intel High Definition Audio
Hard Disk 120 GB SATA.
MSI TV@nywhere Master
Windows XP Professional Media Center
Now ,, my pc and MSI TV Tuner work properly and I see and record directly without any problem  , but the major problem is when I start Media Center to see and record from TV I got this message  .
I need your advice and help ..
Thank you ..

the answer is already in the stickies:
Quote
"Windows XP Media Center says that my "tuner hardware is malfunctioning or not installed" but I have installed the latest TV@nywhere drivers from MSI"
Neither the Vox or the TV@nywhere cards are compatible with MCE2005. MCE2005 requires an analogue TV card capable of hardware MPEG2 encoding, or a software DVB-T (digital) card that already receives an MPEG2 video stream over-the-air.
You can however still use the Vox or the TV@nywhere using the MSIPVS software outside of the MCE2005 application.
the only MSI TV products compatible with MCE are the Theater 550PRO and DigiVOX

  • Digi@nywhere A/D Plus, Vista Media Center, Analog cable

How do I configure Vista Media Center to use the analog part of my digi@nywhere tuner card? It will only "see" the input source as: digital antenna. And, since I don't have an antenna connected, all signal strengths are at zero. Besides, the configuration seems to think I only have 16 channels availabnle to me, when in reality I have 30+. THinking this might not be a problem with the tuner card, I borrowed a hauppauge card from a friend. One that also had an analog tuner. Media Center worked just fine with that card. The included ArdSoft TotalMedia software also works fine, but I'd really prefer to use Media Center rather than the TotalMedia.
    Thanks,
    Dennis

  • Media center problem with Qosmio G35-650 - error message

    hello all
I have a problem with media center on qosmio g35-650.
When starting live tv , an error message appears and writes "application failure please restart your computer again. if problem persists again please contact with your hardware assistance"
It was working yesterday and today something happened.
Also it cant find any tv signal available. Is it a hardware problem?
    regards
    cem mete

    Hello
Please dont be mad on me but in most cases is the user the problem and not the machine. I really dont know what is problem in your case but if the unit has well TV signal there should not be any problem.
Your unit must be an US model. Those notebooks are not known to me but I presume that Qosmio player is preinstalled too. I have G20 and TV works perfect (WMCE and Qosmio player). What is with Qosmio player in your case? Does it work well?
Be sure that TV tuner is listed properly in device manager and also TV antenna is connected properly.

  • Lost of HP Digital TV Tuner signal, with Win Media Center, on a random weekly frequency

    I have a HP Pavilion dv9500 Notebook, (ref : dv9649em - GY429EA#ABF - CNF73912X6 ) and use a HP Digital TV tuner
bought with an HP notebook Pavilion tx1000, it's an express card tuner format 34, used on the express card port 54 of the dv9500. The dv9500 run on Win vista premium family with pack 2. On a regular random frequency, around one time per week. I lost the TV tuner signal after the record of a program, when it try to record a new program, because window cannot load the driver, in the product manager, the port USB 2 Intel ICH8 EHC 2836 or 283A, have an error. I must uninstall the USB 2 drivers, reinstall it, and do all the reinstallation, of the tuner in the Window Media Center, which is not an automatic process, at the detection of the tuner, and which is a long and boring process. So I'm really fedup of this situation ? Is there someone who have a  solution ? Don't you have a solution to solve this bug ?
Thank a lot, of your help.
    Christ..

Is this assuming you've selected "antenna" and then "digital" when initialy setting up your tuner in WMC? So ... if you selected set-top box/cable and then went through the process you don't get local HD? And if you select Antenna -> Digital -> and manually input the frequency, then you get HD from your local cable? If so, then this is a pretty cool tip... Thanks!

  • Envy 23 Protected Content Error in Window Media Center

I have a brand new HP Envy 23 with Windows 8 and Intel HD Graphics.  I run Windows Media Center and have an HD Homerun Cable Card TV Tuner attached on my network so Media Center can redord HD Cable programs.
Recorded programs play back fine to my XBOX360 Media Center Extender, however, if I try to watch a recorded show on the HP Envy (which is the machine doing the actual recording) I get an error message that the Display Device Does Not Support the Playback of Protected Content.
I was hoping a display driver update might fix this, but I don't see any available.  Since HP offers this machine with a TV tuner, and with Blu-Ray, I would think the Intel HD Grapics Hardware and the display would support HD playback.
Has anyone else encountered this, and found a solution?
    Thanks!

    Hi jfmcgowan,
I have been researching the problem that you are having and came across several other people that were having the same problem. The closest thing that I could find to a solution was the link below. It is regarding Contect Protection Messages Interrupt View of High Definition Movies. Try that out and let me know.

  • How can I use the FM tuner in Windows Media Center?

    Hi everyone.
    New to the threads.
Found this site while looking for answers to a problem I'm having. ?:|
I received my Toshiba Satellite computer as a Christmas gift. I noticed it has a cool FM tuner feature.
I also have been playing around with Windows Media Center.
However, I cannot figure out how to operate the FM tuner inside WMC....?
I added the NXP FM tuner program to the "extras" on WMC, but instead of opening up the tuner inside WMC it just opens the separate program.
Does anyone know how I can use the FM tuner (or a different one perhaps?) inside WMC?
    Thank you! :)

    Hello
I don't have any experience with this because my Satellite doesnt have FM Tuner but nice discussion about it you can find under
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=138027
If you will find final solution it will be nice if you can describe own experience with it. It can be useful for other people here.
    Bye and good luck!

  • Windows Media Center, Windows 7 and HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner

I can't get windows media center to find signals using my TV tuner anymore. I used to be able to watch TV on my computer using either a digital antenna or analog cable, but now I can't.
I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit) on an HPdv6 laptop. I upgraded to windows 7 from vista quite awhile ago, but I can't remember if it stopped working after I installed windows 7 or not. I'm not exactly sure what model number my TV tuner is, but it says it is an HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner in the device manager. It also says it's manufactured by AverMedia, but it doesn't give the product number or model number. Maybe the tuner isn't compatible with windows 7? There is no way I can find out if I don't know the product number...
I've tried updating the driver for the tuner, but that didn't help. WMC simply can't pick up a signal from the tuner anymore, so all of the channels are fuzzy.
    What else can I do?

    Nckhammond wrote:
is it still listed in the  device manager?  its ether an avermedia or hauppauge card. just pick a random win 7 driver for the right brand and force it to install. then update the driver with windows update to get the right one.
Yes, mine is listed in the device manager as HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner. When I click on its properties, it says it's made by Avermedia. So you're suggesting that I download a random Avermedia driver? I don't understand what that would do... I already tried to update the driver, and it says I have the most recent version. I also checked the HP site to see if they released a different version or something. Nope, same version that I have installed. Still doesn't work.

  • Media Center Guide - Failed to retrieve EpgListings Error

When is Microsoft going to address this?  This is a HUGE PROBLEM for people that use WMC.  It couldnt be a bigger problem as it renders my ENTIRE media setup worthless.  Below is a link to a workaround and a forum with tons of people having
    the same problem.
    http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/viewtopic.php?p=80288&f=5#p80288
Re-running the TV setup works for a few weeks but then you start getting the same error.  I have 2 TVs in the house that use WMC.  Both have the problem.  I did what this link suggested and it fixed TV1.  I re-ran the setup again on TV2
and it worked, until tonight which is about 2 weeks since the last time I ran it.  This is a temporary workaround NOT a solution!
This is a MICROSOFT PROBLEM and this is EXACTLY why ZERO people take WMC seriously.  Can you imagine if you turned on your TV with dish, directv, comcast, whatever and you had no guide data and you had to jump through all sorts of technical hoops to
get your guide back?  It would be chaos.  WMC "could" be one of the best pieces of software from microsoft but with this sort of thing happening, it will never be anything but a snap-in.
I also find it amazing that there is no help on this MAJOR, SHOWSTOPPING, APPLICATION KILLING, bug/defect/issue within Microsoft's forums.  I have customers that I have recommended and built WMC based HTPCs because of how "great" they are...I
mean were.  This is embarrassing for me, my company, and it should be for Microsoft.  I am completely done using WMC after this.  We have better support from the open source solutions.

Microsoft has discontinued all development for Windows Media Center. There is no
development team as those folks have all moved on to other groups or left
Microsoft. It's difficult to get MSFT to look at problems with EPG downloads. If
    you post your issue at
    http://connect.microsoft.com/site1145 (you may have to
sign in/create an account to see the feedback tab) and it is trending, they
might eventually look at the issue. There was an issue in the UK about 10 days
    ago.

    Check this article out

Note that it says it is out of date because of pacman.  Really all you need to know is that pacman uses signed packages now, so it is now necessary to run the pacman-key stuff.  Or set SigLevel = Never in pacman.conf
Edit: IMHO the first method is preferred because it more closely resembles a regular install.  Ergo, you will be able to semi follow the beginners guide for config and such.

  • Media Center Deluxe II w/Tv@nywhere Master (settings not saving)

    Hi!
I have a MSI FX5600 VTDR128 and a Tv@nywhere Master running on Win XP (original version - only applied a USB 2.0 patch). Everything works great after I installed all drivers, software, and updates.
However, I have one anoying problem. When I use Media Center Deluxe II (MCD2) and choose to watch TV, the TV capture device is set by default to the nVidia WDM driver NOT my Conexant device. So, I change the setting in Setup and go through the settings. Then viola! I have beautiful TV on PC in MCD2. But when I close MCD2 and reopen it, my TV Capture device setting resets to the nVidia WDM capture driver.
It is annoying when I just want to hit "Power" on the remote and watch TV. Instead each time I have to change my setting to the correct Capture device.
I have begun looking at config files and registry settings, but to date, have not found a fix or work around.
Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.
I have installed all of the patches from the MSI site, (except for the nVidia driver 44.xx version - I am running 43.xx).
    Thanks!!

  • Decoder error on media center

I have media center for an hp computer: model # m7170N... it will no longer record or play television. The error message: decoder error- video has either malfunctioned or is not installed comes up. how can i fix this??

Your Microsoft Windows Xp SP3 version value in the registry may be inconsistent or missing ...
     - Please navigate to the following tree in the registry editor and paste the value for "CSDVersion"
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
The regkey can be accessed by searching for 'CSDVersion' in the registry editor or you could follow the steps below.
    (1) Click 'Start' > choose 'Run'
    (2) type 'regedit' in the run window and click 'ok'. This will open the registry editor
    (3) Navigate the tree to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion'
    (4) look in the left side pane and locate 'CSDVersion' and its value.
And how did your upgrade to SP3 happen? Did it come preinstalled on your machine or have you upgraded it by downloading upgrades from the internet.
