[TV@Master] TV@nywhere Tuning problems

Alright here's my situation:
I have an athlon64 3400, 1gig, ATI 9550, and 350 watt PSU
I installed Windows XP a few months ago, put in the card, got it working and everything was great. Then I installed Solaris 10, completely screwed up the hard drive partitions, and started again from scratch. This time, when installing the card, it didn't work quite so well. The card refuses to tune to any channels, but just shows the fuzz.
Well, then I installed Linux, and got the card playing video, but no sound. So now I have a card that will play video in Linux, but nothing in Windows.
Well, personally I don't care which OS I get it working in, but I'm assuming I will get the most help for windows. What I noticed when installing the drivers, Windows created a "TV/Cable Connection" under My Network Neighborhood. Also, under the driver manager, there is a thing called "Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter #2." Well, I've used an ATI All-In-Wonder, and had the problem with it interfering with my internet connection (internet and TV go through same cable), and was wondering if this could be the same situation. My internet works fine, but I cannot use the tuner software.

I'm pretty sure its a 350 watt one...While I couldn't tell you the specifications on each wire, I know the wattage. I might just replace it because a bearing is going bad in one of the fans. I suppose the PSU could be the culprit, I never really thought of it. But I still can't understand how I had it working on one install of windows and not another. Also, it works in Linux, and it doesn't throttle the cpu like windows...
So I guess I have two things to do: Move PCI slots, and replace the PSU (I really don't want to do that).
(BTW, HP put a 200 watt PSU in a P4 system...)

[TV@nywhere Master] Freescan list loading problem at startup.

I am facing a strange problem with MSIPVS3. I was using "channels" set to cables but few of my channels were missing. So I tried Freescan and added few channels manually. Though, I got all channels but now I am facing a strange problem.
When I load MSIPVS3, it shows the channel at which I closed the program (as it should) but no channel name before channel number and clock (and below word "TV"). If I changed channels with up/down or with remote control, it opens the "Channel List" with as "Initial Settings" with all channels in it. If I simply press either OK or Cancel, MSIPVS3 loads my Freescan and it works as expected.
I tried uninstalling, deleting Intervideo registry from Local Machine and Local User, deleting Intervideo folder from All Users, deleting Intervideo folder from Program Files and Common Files. rebooted. and after all this I did a fresh install. I ran freshly installed MSIPVS3 and did Freescan and nothing else. But same problem persist. Its a bit annoying as I have to click OK or Canel everytime in "Initial Settings" window when I starts MSIPVS3.
Please give your ideas. Did I missed anything to completly remove MSIPVS3? Did anyone else also facing any problem with Freescan list?

Patience Yuz this forum has no input from MSI so you have to wait until someone, somewhere else in the world is awake.
Regards to MSIPVS yes it is awful and there has been quite some discussion within this section of the forum and the survey section as to the problems with this software. It is not only MSIPVS that is at fault the drivers also need some work. On some PC`s MSIPVS causes crashes but by far the biggest complaint is the poor display. Also MSIPVS or the card/drivers not sure which, will not remember it`s locale, every time it is started it will go back to the default in my case it seams to be PAL_B and some times to NTSC my locale is the UK and the TV setting should be PAL_I but getting to stay on PAL_I is a big problem. It makes it hard to schedule a recording as it will probably start in the wrong format. I agrre with you that feeware software is better than MSIPVS.
Thanks to your previous post I can confirm that you have sorted the remote`s missing functions.
Now all we need to get the drivers and MSIPVS sorted.

[TV@Master] TV@nywhere master and DScaler 4.1.11

hi there,
over the weekend i thought i would try out a program that claims to be able to run my TV@nywhere master. that program is DScaler 4.1.11
The program says it supports the CX2388x chipset so i thought i would play it safe and uninstalled MSIPVS and drivers and start with a cold boot, the program installed without problems, auto detecting my card, and starting up just fine. once running i had video but could not get sound, after playing with it for awhile i still could not get sound so i decided to uninstall the program and reinstall MSIPVS and drivers. I did this the same as i did before, uninstalled, powered off, powered on, shut down anything running in the background, reinstalled drivers from the cd, reinstalled MSIPVS and radio, after install, rebooted, then set up MSIPVS as i had done before (before DScaler everything worked just fine including the remote) when i had the program set up i noticed i had no sound so i checked my settings (nothing different than before), checked the device manager to make sure windows knew the card was there and no conflicts or problems and found nothing out of sorts. at this point i began to worry so i uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results, i also tried the beta drivers and the newer MSIPVS with the same results, video with no sound (when you turn the volume way up you can hear a crackling sound) at this point i was getting pretty so i spent the next few hours trying to find out what had happened. i posted on there site asking for help but no response so far.
from what i've read on there forum an early version of DScaler trashes the EPROM on the TV@nywhere master (i hope this is not the problem!) but that issue was supposed to be fixed with later versions of the program.
I am at my wits end at this point. Not sure what to try next except filling the card in the circular file
can anyone give me some ideas on what to do? does MSI have a utillity availible to fix things like this?
one thing is for sure DScaler will never see any rig i build from now on!

I just wanted to post an update! i got my card working again with much better results than before!! Stu you should see the picture i get and hear the sound quality!!
alright! i'll write this down before i forget what i did. first thing i did was to uninstall MSI drivers and MSIPVS and Radio, then i downloaded DScaler 4.1.8 and the reflasher utility, then i installed DScaler, then i unpacked the reflasher to DScalers program folder and ran the tool, after that i uninstalled DScaler and powered off my rig, next i powered up and after closing anything running in the background i installed the drivers Stu posted then i powered down again. after powering up and closing everything i installed MSIPVS from the original CD that came with the card and the radio that Stu posted, powered down again, restarted and set up MSIPVS great vidio but no sound then i started looking for a work around, i decided to run composite cables from my dish setup. vidieo to the tuner and audio to the sound card with the spliter that came with the card. got picture but no sound then i started checking other things, "line in" is in my volume control and wasn't muted so i opened up my "sound manager" (my board has the Realtec ALC850 chipset) and started messing around with the settings there, after going thru 2 or 3 different configurations i let it auto detect and sudenly i got sound!! (i tried auto detect first with no results) so at this point i thought i might push my luck, removed the composite cables and hooked the cable back up then restarted MSIPVS, went to setup and set it up choosing cable and line in, i ran the channel search and got vidio and sound!!!!!!
i'm not sure what happened because before DScaler everything worked fine (sound and video not as good as i wanted) after all this i get a great picture and great sound!! no noise in either!!
so far so good! now that's behind me i won't be messing with alternative programs and the TV@nywhere master again!!
i really hope this helps someone else find a way to get there card back up and running!!

Tv@nywhere solved problem, and a new one!

hello all, lately i had a problem using my tv@nywhere master, i can't force it to use pal, each time it start it revert it to secam.
1-solution:
my country use the pal (b/g) system, my settings was my country and mode pal b, so i changed it to another country that use the pal system (i choosed italy) i set mode to pal, et voila, each time upon now i start it, i have pal system.(by the way no more brightness darkness flikering or random change)
2-problem:
it was hard to discover this problem, now i'm running the pal system, the image is not represented as one image segment, it's showed as (say) 15 raw of segment, so lines that appear in the intersection of these rows showed weird (as a water tub effect) or (as a non antialiased game).
so i revert my setting mode from pal to anything else, this weird effect does not exist anymore, but now imge colors is not showed well
3-probably:
i though to install the directx 9.0b tv tuner patch, i did it but nothing happened.
so i decide maybe it's a window problem, directx problem.
4-questions:
a-do u think using a neibhord country selection instead of the real country, but with the current mode (pal) will do a problems
b-do u think it can be a directx 9.0b problem, so tv@nywher wont recognize but directx 8.0
N.B.:i'm using the latest driver and intervideo downloaded from msi site.

TV@nywhere Driver Problem...PLEASE HELP!

I just reformatted and put SP1 on XP and reinstalled all the drivers from the MSI Site. Everything installed correctly except when one thing, nVidia WDM video capture (universal). Under device manager there is an exclamation point there and its properties say: This device cannot start. (Code 10). I click on "update drivers" and point to where I unpacked the nvidia wdm drivers, but it still doesn't work. No matter what program I try, i cannot get it to find any channels. What can I do? This worked fine on my previous install of XP without SP1.

Ok if the WDM video capture have nothing to do with my TV @nywhere, then does anyone have any idea what my problem is? With just XP the card worked beautifully and picked up all channels. Now it scans and picks up nothing. I have tried every program out there to no avail: powerVCR II, showshifter, virtual vcr, WinDVR, etc...the only program I HAVE NOT tried is MSIPVS b/c I don't have my cd case with me and therefore the serial #. But regardless, no other program will pick up channels, I only get blue. Should I check IRQ's or perhaps move PCI slots? Or is it something else? Thanks guys.

Master-Detail Navigation Behavior Problem

Hello,
I am having problem in navigating from Master to Detail.
Scenaio:
Master1 ---> Master2 ---> Detail
Problem and Requirement
I navigate to Master2 from Master1 properly.
When I click list item of Master2 and navigate to Detail, my master page automatically navigates to Master1.
There is no error or such. Detail page gets loaded perfectly but navigation from Master2 ---> Master1 is not required which is happening automatically.
I am using this.oRouter.navTo() method.
Any idea how to deal with this?

Master table / detail table: Problem refreshing the content

I have a Master table/detail table on my page. When I add a new row to the master or detail table, the new row is inserted in the database, but not shown in the ADF Tables on the page. After restarting the OC4J the ADF Tables show the correct data, including the new rows.
While dropping the collection on my page there were one methodIterator and two accessorIterators created.
In several tutorials the solution for the refresh problem is to change the chacheResult parameter of the methodIterator to false. But this causes in "No row found for rowKey:null" errors.
An other solution should be to create a new invokeAction with the id "tableRefresh" and the corresponding RefreshConditions. This doesn't helps, too.
So how could I solve this problem? I want to update/refresh the master and detail table, after I inserted a new row.

Sorry, but I forgot to say, that I am using Jdev 10.1.3.1, Toplink, ADF and EJB3.
I think I will give some further informations about the scenario. I created the m/d table by drag-and-droping the object out of the data control palette on site A. Each row stores a goLink item, which navigates to a new page B. After creating and saving the new entry the user navigates back to the page with the m/d table (page A). Storing the new entry is handled by an action in the page B managed bean.
Now the question: How could I re-execute in page B backing bean the iterator which is stored in page A? Could this be handled by an invokeAction? Or is it possible to get access to the iterator used and stored on another page (definition)?

Vendor master Plant relevant data problem

Hi ,
I have a peculiar problem,
I need to set a alternate currency for a vendor at plant level ,So I activated data retention at plant level and at plant level I gave the vendor master a different currency and saved,after saving when I tried raise PO for the plant with a vendor system gives me warning message receiving and supplying plant are same and does not allow to enter condition prices.
Kindly clarify me.

you assigned your vendor to a plant in XK02 via menu EXTRAS > additional data
this is needed if you do STOs
Right below is the check box for data retention at plant level.
If you want data retention at plant level, then you have to flag this box.
Then you go back to the organisation screen and you will find a new button activated. if you click this button, then you can enter the plant number for which you want maintain specific purchasing data..
I guess you mixed those 2 different things and thought you have to assign your vendor to the plant directly in the first pop-.up.
Remove it from there.

Master-Child-Grand Child problem [Solved]

I've created a form with one master, a detail for this master and a detail for the detail (next generation too is created!). Once i query the master, the detail and the subsequent generations automatically show the required data, but if i click on the child (Generation 1) the data in the child and the subsequent generations is lost. Is this a form bug? Am I not supposed to use multiple generations in a single form - because it is too convenient!

I apologise for the partial information provided. The problem occurs with a mouse-click and not keyboard movement.
Let me explain briefly. I have 3 data blocks A, B and C.
A -> Master block. (No of records displayed 2)
B -> Detail block of A (No of records displayed 5)
C -> Detail block of B (No of records displayed 10)
I query the block A and the blocks B & C get populated with respective values for the first record in A. Now i'd like to view the values in block C corresponding to the 2nd record in B. If i navigate through blocks (from A to B)using keyboard everything is fine. But if I simply click on record #2 of block B, the records in blocks B & C disappear. I have to requery A and then navigate using keyboard only.
I hope i could explain the problem clearly.

Master Data Delta Extraction Problem

Hi,
I have this problem. When loading delta data from 0BPARTNER_ATTR infosource, BW informs me "Short dump in the Warehouse". When I go looking for it, there is none. Once I got to the infopackage->scheduler, the system reports "Request the repeat?", and I go "Continue", but the data load never begins. Does anybody knows what it's wrong?.
I'v been doing some work-arround: start a new init load, but this is good for two or thre days (delta loads), and then the delta stops working.
any ideas where to look for the problem?

Hi Mauricio,
maybe it depends by the number of records in delta quque. If you have a daily lot of changes in a Master Data the system is no more able to extract the data in tables for change pointers. Also maybe that you have to cancel entries on the tables of changed data.
Check the quantity of delta records for every day, and then check also if it is possible to update this master data frequently.

Does anyone know about Master Collection CS6 performance problems on OSX Mountain Lion?

I have a 15" MBP (late 2011) and I'm having some poor performance problems even after a clear install, reindexing the system and fixing all permission errors in Disk Utility. I have some suspicions about compatibility problems with Adobe Master Collection CS6 cause those are the programms I always work with and in wich I have experienced a bad performance.
Hardware test says everything is fine. Any sugestion?

Guys, I suffered the same problem for 4 days. I am on the new MBP Pro Retina Display + Mountain Lion 16GB Ram, etc...
I first thought it was to do with retina display however no, that is not the case.
SOLUTION (sounds odd but works):
The only way I found to fix it, is setting photoshop to use the East Asian text engine instead of the Middle East one. (Prefs -> Type -> East Asian). Then restart Photoshop.

Master Collection CS5 Installation Problem

Hi Guys
I had a problem half way through installing the MC on my win64bit PC and the result is Fireworks did install properly and appears in the Adobe Master Collection folder (as a blank icon) but FW does not in the program uninstall list. However when I try and install it individually, I get a message saying its already loaded. How do I remove its "ghost" so I can install FW?

You would have to run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool from the support pages and then try this again from scratch. Unfortunately there is no way to just uninstall/ reinstall individual products and personalyl I would always advise against "repair" mode installs without wiping the previous ones, as this may not remove the initial problematic stuff.

Master/Detail data error problem -- Please Help

Hi All,
I just created a M/D form for two of my tables (Organization & Contact tables) using wizard with existing sequences to create app. Everything looks great when viewing an existing account and making modifications.
My problem stems when I try to create a new account, the Organization form comes up. After entering data and hit 'Create' I get error ORA-01403: No data found. Yet it creates account. Is there a way to get both M&D forms up at the same time with no error after entering data?????
I am too new to know what is going wrong and my manuals do not clarify anything. I'd appreciate any help from a master in Master/Detail forms. :o)

Hi All,
Just in case anyone has same problem. Since I was not able to get help here I created a tar and we figured that the problem was with the system when I upgraded. System created triggers that were fighting with the sequences that I had manually created.
Disabled triggers and all is working fine. You still need to watch future applications just in case.
